That day, after Bella Acker finished her scene, she saw Sharon Cheney frowning while taking a call in the lounge area.
"Okay, I understand. Don’t worry, there will always be a solution."
Bella Acker asked, "Ms. Cheney, what’s going on?"
Sharon gave her a glance and shook her head, "It’s nothing. Did you finish filming your scenes today?"
"Yeah, you just reminded earlier," Bella noticed she seed a bit distracted and worried, but when asked, Sharon wasn’t willing to say more.
"Really?" Sharon was startled for a mont, then said, "Let’s go, we’ll have dinner outside."
"Ms. Cheney, you still have a scene left," Bella had known Ms. Cheney for so ti, always elegant and composed, but this was the first ti she seed so flustered, "Ms. Cheney, did sothing happen at ho?"
"No, don’t worry," Sharon put away her phone and forced a smile, "Let finish this scene, and then we’ll eat together." Saying this, she patted Bella on the shoulder and went to touch up her makeup.
Bella was worried about Sharon’s current state. What on earth could have happened to make Ms. Cheney so concerned?
Sure enough, Sharon ssed up four takes during the next shoot before getting it right. Even Director Ford noticed sothing off about her.
Director Ford approached her with concern, "Sharon, you seem low on energy, are you feeling unwell?"
Sharon shook her head.
Director Ford asked again, "Did sothing happen?" He knew Sharon didn’t have family issues, so it couldn’t be that.
Sharon looked at him twice before whispering, "Elaine’s studio suddenly ran into trouble."
"Wasn’t her studio doing well? What’s the issue?"
"Soone deliberately intercepted resources; all the contracts her artists had secured got canceled," Sharon frowned, "Elaine is flying back from abroad to handle this."
"All intercepted? Who has such influence?" Director Ford thought for a while, believing no one in the industry would go this far to harm Elaine Vaughn, "It’s not soone from our circle, right?"
"It’s unclear for now. Elaine called a mutual friend, but they were evasive, hinting that the person behind this is quite influential." This was what worried Sharon the most—Elaine was forthright, having as many admirers as enemies. It was hard to figure out who might be plotting against her.
"Don’t worry too much. I’ll call so friends to find out what’s going on." Most of Director Ford’s friends were directors, producers, and screenwriters. He made a call to a producer right in front of Sharon.
The phone was picked up after two rings. Director Ford said, "Hey, Old Rockwell, it’s . Do you know who’s targeting Elaine Vaughn’s studio?"
The person on the other end lowered their voice, "I’m in a eting, hold on." There was a pause, but the call stayed connected. A mont later, there was the sound of a door closing, indicating the person had left the eting room.
"Old Ford, are you getting involved?"
"Just asking around."
"It’s fine to ask, but I advise you not to get involved, even if your crush asks you. This situation is hard to settle," Old Rockwell advised his friend.
"Is it that serious? Quit stalling, just tell who’s behind it."
"You know the eldest son of the Lynch Family, right?"
"The eldest son of the Lynch Group, Jaden Lynch?" Director Ford frowned, "It’s one thing for him to ss around with young models, but why would he do sothing like this?"
