President Sinclair was rendered speechless by Miles Lawson’s words.
At that mont, he was at his most furious and extre. The instant it was proven that the people in the photo were not photoshopped, the last string of reason in his mind snapped.
All the negative emotions invaded his brain at that mont. He stood in front of the glass curtain wall in the office for a whole morning before stabilizing his emotions.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t know what irreparable actions he might take in his rage.
Miles Lawson on the other end of the phone didn’t hear him speak, so he continued, "The comparison photos were already posted online so ti ago. I thought President Sinclair had already seen them."
If he had seen them, would he still be so conflicted?
"I understand now," Damian Sinclair said, "In the future, whenever I am not calm enough, just say whatever you discover without worrying about what I ask."
"Yes," Miles Lawson replied.
Damian Sinclair hung up the phone but didn’t imdiately go to see Bella Acker.
This misunderstanding arose from his anger at being betrayed, which muddled his mind entirely.
If he had been slightly calm and listened to Bella Acker’s explanations, this conflict wouldn’t have happened.
Damian Sinclair raised his hand to pinch his brow. He understood his feelings for Bella Acker very well. It was precisely because he understood that he couldn’t tolerate even a little betrayal.
After this incident, he realized that his possessiveness over this relationship seed intensely distorted, to the point of being unreasonably capricious, even incomprehensible to himself.
Too impulsive, too subjective, and too one-sided!
These flaws that should never have appeared in him all erged because of his feelings for Bella Acker.
Damian Sinclair felt a bit frustrated, feeling embarrassed for causing such a fuss over this misunderstanding, and unsure how to start a conversation.
Bella Acker looked at his expression, noticing that he frowned, and for once, there was a faint blush on his usually stern face.
She hadn’t dared to look him in the eye before and hadn’t noticed.
Bella Acker looked at him and said, "Damian, are you feeling guilty about wronging , that you owe an apology?"
Damian Sinclair’s back stiffened, and he finally looked up at her.
His face remained expressionless, but the cold indifference that usually armored his eyes had long vanished.
Seeing him like this, Bella Acker boldly stepped closer, looked up at him, and asked, "Do you feel like you’ve been particularly heartless, capricious, and unreasonable?"
Although he did feel he was a bit too irrational inside, being called out to his face like this made him slightly uncomfortable.
Damian Sinclair was silent for a while before finally speaking, "This ti I was indeed too hasty. I’ll apologize where an apology is due. I’m sorry."
Bella Acker didn’t expect to actually hear those three words from him, slightly doubting if she misheard, "Damian, what did you just say?"
Damian Sinclair looked at her stiffly.
Bella Acker curled her lips into a smile, "I want to hear it, could you say it again?"
"You... achoo!" Damian Sinclair just opened his mouth, then turned his head to let out a loud sneeze.
Bella Acker was startled, pulled out so tissues, handed them to him, and asked, "Damian, did you catch a cold?"
"No," Damian Sinclair took the tissues and wiped his nose, looking even more flushed than before because of the sneeze.
Bella Acker frowned, stood on tiptoe, and reached out to touch his forehead.
The palm was t with scorching heat.
