Chapter 44. The Token Reveals Its Divine Might, What Is His Background?!

The Heavenly Illumination Mirror!

At the sight of it—

The four Imperial Princes trembled violently.

Even with his life nearing its end, the Chu Emperor could still wield the Heavenly Illumination Mirror?

The Heavenly Illumination Mirror possessed unfathomable abilities.

Aside from reflecting a fragnt of the past—which required the expenditure of lifespan—its other functions did not demand much.

However, to use the Heavenly Illumination Mirror to examine a person, the user had to activate it personally.

If the Chu Emperor could still activate the Heavenly Illumination Mirror, was he truly at death’s door?

Deep wariness flickered within the four Imperial Princes’ eyes.

If the Chu Emperor could wield the Heavenly Illumination Mirror, then he could summon this terrifying national guardian sacred artifact at any ti!

A national guardian sacred artifact was boundless and majestic—so powerful that it might even slay them with invincible divine might!

The four Imperial Princes’ gazes grew cold, yet they said nothing further.

Their overwhelming pressure gradually subsided.

They were no fools. They would not retreat rely because of a few words from the Chu Emperor.

If he could not demonstrate real strength, they would treat his words as nothing more than wind in their ears.

But now—they stepped back.

To continue confronting the Chu Emperor at this mont would be courting death.

The Heavenly Illumination Mirror had already been activated. This national guardian sacred artifact could annihilate all. Though the four Imperial Princes each had hidden trump cards, this was not the ti to reveal them.

The Chu Emperor had spoken, and the Heavenly Illumination Mirror had been set in motion.

Rumble!

Streak after streak of divine light projected from the Heavenly Illumination Mirror.

It seed as though they descended from an immortal realm. A supre and unparalleled aura pressed down upon everything, causing all present to tense as they stared fixedly at the scene.

Chu Feng’s expression remained calm.

Even the four Imperial Princes dared not advance before this mirror.

One could imagine how terrifying it truly was.

If Chu Feng had no trump card, he would never have revealed too much of his strength. To stand out excessively would attract countless covetous eyes.

But ever since his journey to the Scripture Pavilion, Chu Feng had changed his thinking.

He now possessed the token bestowed by the Yuan Ancestor, a safeguard ensuring that no one within the Great Chu Dynasty would dare touch him.

This had been a promise personally spoken by the Yuan Ancestor of the Scripture Pavilion.

Chu Feng understood that life and death lay within a single thought.

He was, after all, an impostor posing as the Third Prince. Such deception could not last forever.

He had to resolve the matter once and for all—to obtain a true immunity from death and completely extinguish everyone’s suspicions.

The Yuan Ancestor’s token was the perfect solution.

Countless rays of divine light had already enveloped Chu Feng.

In that instant, he felt himself restrained by endless divine might.

It was as though the laws of Heaven and Earth themselves had descended. Let alone resisting—he could not even move a finger.

“A token...” Chu Feng’s gaze sharpened. He drew a slow breath, preparing to take the token from his robes.

However—

At that very mont—

BOOM!!

A towering surge of power erupted from around Chu Feng.

Vast magical force, like a raging tidal wave, burst forth from his body and swept in all directions.

In that instant, it was like mountains collapsing and seas overturning. Thousands of major imperial figures, along with the prodigies of the Eastern Wasteland who had arrived, were sent staggering by the overwhelming force!

Only a very few—such as the four Imperial Princes, Consort Yu, Elder Zhao, and other unfathomable figures—barely managed to remain standing.

Even so—

The four Imperial Princes’ expressions changed drastically.

“This—what divine might is this?!”

“How could this child possess such terrifying magical force? This level of power is simply—”

The four Imperial Princes were shaken to the core. Horror filled their faces as their bodies tensed, as though they had entered a mont of life and death!

Even the Chu Emperor, who had been slumped upon the Dragon Throne, suddenly opened his eyes wide and looked toward Chu Feng.

The sudden upheaval—

Caught everyone present completely off guard.

Rumble...

At that mont—

The pressure around Chu Feng vanished.

The Heavenly Illumination Mirror hovering above him flickered uncertainly.

Buzz!

An ancient and unadorned token slowly rose from within Chu Feng’s robes, floating before him.

“That is a token?”

“That terrifying magical force seems to have erupted from it!”

“How is that possible? Unless it belongs to one of the Supre Three Ancestors, no one else could imbue a token with such divine might!”

“Just what background does he have?!”

The four Imperial Princes stared fixedly at Chu Feng, their expressions uncertain and shaken.

Upon the Dragon Throne, the Chu Emperor’s gaze blazed like torches. In that instant, he seed to shed his frailty, staring at the token before Chu Feng with cold intensity.

“Cough, cough!”

An aged cough echoed from within the token.

Then divine light blossod, gradually forming the figure of an old man.

It was a phantom projection, not his true body descending.

Yet Chu Feng recognized him at once.

It was the old man he had encountered in the Scripture Pavilion.

The very one who had granted him the token.

After the Yuan Ancestor’s illusory figure appeared, his expression was calm. His gaze swept across the hall.

Every person whose eyes t his felt their hearts tremble and their bodies shake.

Nearly all mbers of the imperial clan turned pale with fear.

Most of them did not recognize the Yuan Ancestor.

He was simply too ancient, his status too exalted. Having lived for countless years, he rarely appeared.

Many within the imperial clan were not even certain whether the Yuan Ancestor was still alive.

Let alone recognizing him.

Of course, while the majority did not know him—

The four Imperial Princes, the Chu Emperor, Elder Zhao, and the other top figures recognized him instantly.

Their gazes beca incomparably deep.

“Yuan Ancestor!”

“Yuan Ancestor!”

...

At this mont, those supre figures all spoke, expressing their reverence.

As one of the Supre Three Ancestors, the Yuan Ancestor was the absolute trump card of the Great Chu Dynasty. Only at the ultimate mont of life and death would he appear.

Ten thousand years ago, a suprely terrifying existence had once swept across the Great Chu Dynasty, his cultivation overwhelming Heaven and Earth. He had gravely injured the Chu Emperor of that era and shattered the Imperial Palace into ruins.

Even then, the Yuan Ancestor had not appeared.

For it had not threatened the true survival of the Great Chu Dynasty.

In the end, that terrifying existence had been slain by the combined forces of the Imperial Princes and the use of the national guardian sacred artifact.

And yet now—

The Yuan Ancestor had appeared.

Upon the Dragon Throne—

The Chu Emperor slowly rose to his feet. His body still looked as though it might collapse at any mont.

His gaze was complicated as he looked at the Yuan Ancestor.

“Yuan Ancestor, how have we disturbed you?”

The Yuan Ancestor, standing before Chu Feng, smiled faintly at those words. In a hoarse voice, he said,

“Chu Emperor, you ask this?”

“If you had not activated the Heavenly Illumination Mirror, would I have appeared?”

The Chu Emperor’s pupils contracted slightly.

The Yuan Ancestor continued calmly,

“My Great Chu Dynasty has endured for tens of thousands of years. At last, a peerless genius of unparalleled aptitude has erged—one capable of elevating our dynasty to greater heights.”

“Therefore, I granted him this token, as a safeguard for his life.”
