Chapter 18: Sword Room Dispute! Provocation!
The tall Knight’s Squire leading the group was nad Rog.
Rog put on an affected air as he swept his gaze around, exclaiming, “Oh? So there’s actually such a large sword room here. Perfect for training.”
“Rog, what brings you here out of nowhere?” Arthur seed to know this Knight’s Squire nad Rog, and he frowned as he spoke.
“Oh, Arthur. Long ti no see. I heard you’ve been hanging around with so country bumpkin lately.” Rog glanced at Leo beside him. “Looks like the Xilin Family has really fallen on hard tis.”
“What did you say!” Arthur’s sore spot was struck. Raising his Iron Sword, he shot back, “If I rember correctly, a few years ago you were the one I beat so badly you were crawling on the ground!”
“Heh, back then you had been learning swordsmanship from your family instructor for quite so ti.
But things are different now. I’ve learned true swordsmanship under Instructor Clarsen. In my eyes, you’re nothing but trash now.”
The two spoke sharply, clearly carrying a long-standing grudge.
“Enough nonsense. Want to fight?” Arthur stared at Rog’s stance. “I think you’re just here to cause trouble while the instructor and Miss Eve Sova are away.”
“No, no, no. Private fights between Knight’s Squires are not allowed. I wouldn’t dare break the rules set by Knight Laforin.” Rog smiled as he spread his hands.
“I just think it’s a bit inappropriate that so many of us are cramd into one sword room, while the three of you occupy such a large one.”
As soon as Rog finished speaking, the other Squires around him chid in.
“Yeah, there are over thirty of us, and that sword room is way too small. We can’t even move properly.”
“Exactly, exactly.” The Knight’s Squires echoed one another.
While the group chattered noisily, Leo quietly walked over to the weapon rack. He replaced the original 5-pound training sword in his hand with a 10-pound heavy sword.
His gaze swept through the crowd until he found Eddie hiding among them.
At the sa ti, Eddie noticed Leo’s gaze.
With a chuckle, he stepped forward. “Hehe, Rog, Arthur, stop arguing. Actually, this sword room belongs to Miss Eve Sova.
Strictly speaking, since she isn’t here, only her sole student, Leo, has the right to use it. We should probably leave.”
Although Eddie appeared to be diating, his words imdiately shifted everyone’s attention onto Leo.
For a long ti, many of them had found Leo—Miss Eve Sova’s student—unpleasant to look at.
In terms of background and status, Leo had the smallest territory among all the Squires.
Yet, for so reason, he had gotten close to the most admired young lady of Grey Stone City.
That alone made many people feel dissatisfied.
Unfortunately, Leo usually kept an extrely low profile.
He rarely interacted with anyone at all.
He was practically invisible, and most people had long since ignored him.
But at this very mont, Eddie’s words dragged him back into everyone’s focus.
“Leo? Heh.” Rog sized up the boy in the distance and slowly walked over. “That na has quite a rustic charm. I think a servant in my household used to have the sa na.
So, Mr. Leo, would you mind if we used this sword room together?”
“Rog, you’re clearly just looking for trouble!” Arthur had been spending a lot of ti with Leo lately and already considered himself Leo’s close ally.
He stepped in front of Leo.
As Rog continued approaching, Arthur grabbed his collar in one swift motion.
“Everyone saw that—he made the first move.” The smile on Rog’s face instantly disappeared.
In the next mont, he stepped forward, lowered his stance, and twisted the strength of his entire body into one force before crashing forward.
Bang!
The two bodies collided violently, producing a dull thud.
Just now, Rog had used a footwork technique from advanced swordsmanship.
Rhino Charge.
Using the power of his entire body, Rog sent the tall and sturdy Arthur flying backward.
Over the past year, he had undergone the harshest special training under Instructor Clarsen and had displayed exceptional talent.
He had already beco one of the most outstanding among all the Knight’s Squires.
Everyone knew he would surely shine in the upcoming swordsmanship assessnt.
By comparison, Arthur’s strength had long since been surpassed by Rog.
But at the very instant Arthur was knocked flying—
a strong hand pressed firmly against the center of his back, forcing him back onto his feet.
Leo caught Arthur and steadied him.
He looked at Rog. “Your na is… Rog?”
Rog looked at Leo, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.
Arthur was large and heavy—an ordinary person would never have been able to stop him just now. He sized up this newly arrived Squire of Blackstone City.
“Didn’t expect you to have so skill. That’s right, I’m Rog of the Snake Family, the second son.” Rog’s hand subtly moved toward the Iron Sword at his waist.
“Second son, hello.” Leo remained calm and greeted him.
Then he patted Arthur beside him, his gaze as still as water. “Let’s go. We’ll find another place.”
Leo chose to leave directly.
A bunch of teenagers—most likely incited by Eddie.
Such petty tricks were obvious to him at a glance. There was no way he would fall for it.
Since Laforin had set the rule forbidding private fights,
whoever made the first move would gain nothing—even if they won.
Leo had no interest in doing anything that brought no benefit.
Besides, his swordsmanship had already been fully maxed. He planned to head to the stable and continue grinding Mount Control instead.
However, Leo’s action left everyone present stunned.
The youths were hot-blooded. Although Laforin had set rules against private fighting,
conflicts and brawls among Squires were common.
They had all assud Leo would stand up for Arthur.
Even Arthur was a bit confused. “We’re… just leaving like this?”
“Let’s go.” Leo did not hesitate at all and stepped out.
This was Eve Sova’s training room. Causing trouble here without permission—
naturally, it would be up to that young lady to deal with them.
Leo had no intention of wasting ti entangled with these kids.
But just as he was about to leave the sword room, a figure suddenly appeared at the doorway.
A stern female voice rang out.
“What are all of you doing, crowding into my sword room?”
Everyone turned toward the entrance.
Eve Sova stood there with her arms crossed, looking energetic and sharp.
“Miss Eve Sova!”
None of the dozens of Knight’s Squires present had expected her sudden appearance.
Including her own student—Leo.
He had not seen this teacher for quite so ti.
At that mont, Eve Sova was also observing Leo in the distance.
She had been in seclusion recently. Having just witnessed Leo’s behavior, she hadn’t expected him to have beco so composed.
However, composure was not her preferred style.
Eve Sova looked at the dozens of stunned Knight’s Squires before her, and suddenly a thought erged in her mind.
She rolled her arms, a hint of excitent flashing in her eyes.
“Since you’re all here… good. Let’s have so activity.”
