When we entered the room, I realised that there was another variant of the Psionic chrysalis here.
These in particular had really long arms that ended in oversized fists while the legs stretched below to end in suckers that allowed them to stick themselves on the ground and the walls.
Like the other group, they did not attack us and simply stepped out of the way when we entered, showing a clear path to the capsule with another kid inside it.
This ti, the one inside the capsule was a girl instead of a boy.
The creature that led us here moved to the side of the capsule and sat there to stare at us, clearly indicating that we should also free the girl inside it.
Looks like I was right to assu that it wanted to save its comrades.
"Should we free her?" I asked.
Amber made a face, "If you ask , I'd rather just shoot them all and be done with it. But I guess that's not the answer you are looking for, right, Tera?"
I nodded, I did say I want to save the kids if possible but even though it seems like they would all inevitably change into these monsters, it doesn't look like they were hostile to us anymore so we could try to save them too.
Of course, I haven't forgotten that this place was still rigged to blow so we can't be taking our ti with this either.
Checking my Codex, we still had about forty minutes left but if I were to realise that we were running out of ti, I would prioritise getting all of us out of here tham rescuing the kids.
For now, we followed along with the creature's request and I got Ries to go ahead and open up the capsule after I hacked into the console to grant us access.
Ries did the sa thing and the capsule doors were soon opened to allow the girl inside it to float out.
Just like the two boys that we t before her, the mont she was out of the capsule, her body contorted and twisted before her head split open to allow he black matter to flow out and envelope her.
I was expecting her to transform into sothing similar to that lizard creature that we had already seen before but… It seems like either it was different for this girl specifically or that females transform differently.
Instead of the lizard creature that we saw, the girl black matter that wrapped around her seed to stick to her skin and covered her like a layer of goo, making it look like she was wearing a latex bodysuit.
Her head that was split open was then covered by a ball of that black matter which slowly shrunk until a certain size before morphing into a head of sorts.
The new head that it ford, however, had no facial features and it looked like those faceless clothing mannequins you might see in clothing stores.
More black matter flowed from the new creature's back, wrapping around the body of the creature which took a mont to realise that it was transforming into a sort of dress that reached the ankles.
Incidentally, the creature was still the sa size as the girl it had transford from so it still looked like a small girl if you were to ignore the fact that it was made entirely out of black matter, which was completely different from the lizard which still had visible features that were not black matter.
The new creature seed to take a mont to orientate itself before it settled its gaze on .
I was wondering what it was going to do when it suddenly lunged towards .
I had honestly not expected that and my gun had been pointed at the lizard so I wasn't in a position to shoot her but Amber reacted imdiately where she fired her pistol to blow a hole through the head of the creature.
It didn't even slow the creature down as the hole simply nded itself and it then grabbed by the arm.
The other girls surged forward in preparation to attack that creature and I was also getting ready to smash the butt of my shotgun into the creature's torso when I realised that it simply wanted to hug my arm.
Everyone also paused in their tracks and thankfully, the other Psionic Chrysalis didn't react to Amber's attack and stayed where they were, almost as if they had already expected that to happen or weren't bothered by it.
The creature then started pulling towards the other capsule that contained the crystal, maintaining its grip on my arm the entire way.
Even when we reached the capsule, it still continued to hug my arm but used one of its hands to point at the capsule.
I turned back to look at Ries and nodded at her, prompting our Maochatte to start the process of releasing the crystal from the capsule.
The mont the crystal erged from the capsule, it stretched out one hand towards it and the crystal very obviously drifted to its palm and was absorbed into the black matter.
I then felt sothing push against my arm and I looked down to realise that the creature had expanded its chest size and its figure looked more curvaceous than before.
Ok… I'd like to just say that it was still quite small in size so the proportions actually made it look rather weird than sexy.
That, coupled with the fact that it still had no face, still made it look a little monstrous.
It then finally let go of my arm and it seed to do a bow to before gesturing at the door.
At this point, I understood that it wanted to go and rescue the rest of their comrades so I guess that's what we have to do.
Right as I was going to tell the girls to prepare to leave, the room seed to shake and one of the walls at the back of the room was bent inwards.
The lizard and the girl creature turned towards the direction of the wall before visibly panicking and started rushing towards the door, the girl creature pulling along with her.
The other Psionic Chrysalis ford a wall behind us right as that part of the room exploded inwards, revealing the giant lizard we had seen earlier.
It let out another roar that shook my head before setting its gaze on the smaller lizard that was ahead of us.
The Psionic Chrysalis variants rushed towards the bigger monster, the four ard ones striking against the lizard's body and causing it to slide back a few feet from their combined might.
The monster let out another roar but this ti of obvious pain before it turned to the group of Psionic Chrysalis in front of it.
It tried to swipe at them with its claws but the ones with long arms lunged forward and punched its claw away at the last mont, redirecting it to smash against the wall.
At this point, I figured that these transford creatures most likely thought that the enemy of their enemy was their friend which was why they had allied themselves with us since the larger monster clearly wants to devour them while we didn't.
But now I had a problem where we weren't actually getting anything out of this arrangent since we were clearly not going to rescue kids anymore but more of these monsters instead.
So why were we putting ourselves in danger for these creatures?
As though reading my mind, the girl creature tightened her grip on my arm before lifting up one of her palms in front of .
Sohow, an image was projected out from her palm to show a tir.
It took a mont to realise it was the tir before the station blew up and the numbers suddenly stopped counting down.
Ok, I understood that it was showing it had the ability to stop the countdown tir but so what?
The image above her palm then disappeared before a miniature portal seed to appear and it held for a few seconds before depositing an intact Psionic Crystal in her palm.
Mara let out a soft gasp, "Tera… Intact Psionic Crystals sell for a lot of Credits. Even the military would buy at a premium price and they won't even question where we got them from…"
The girl creature then handed the intact crystal to before gesturing her palm in the air, as though telling that this was just a down paynt and if we helped them, she would give us more.
Say no more fam, we got you.
Guess we're now going to need to rescue the other kids from the giant monster behind us.
As though the giant monster realised that it now had more enemies, it let out another roar before lunging forward to tear one of the Psionic Chrysalis apart, though the remainder were quick to fill up the gap and continue their assault on it to help us escape.
Funny how things change so quickly, huh?
