Valiea crossed two of her arms in front of her chest while her two extra arms rested on her hips.
"So what do you think? That was a pretty simple routine so I think you can try that out first."
Wait, she really wants to do what she just did?
Before I could say anything, Ragbar appeared at the doorway again dressed in a loose t-shirt and shorts.
"Are you giving people impossible standards again, honey?"
Valiea rolled her eyes at him, "Please, I was giving a basic routine dear."
"Mmhmm~ Does your 'basic routine' involve catching bottles in between their fingers? Because if it does, it's not basic."
Valiea puffed up her cheeks cutely at him as Ragbar went behind the bar and gave his wife a kiss on the lips.
He then switched positions with her so that he was standing in front of , "No need to worry, I'll teach you so of the basics.. Err… I don't think I actually got your na, miss?"
Oh right.
"It's Tera."
He raised an eyebrow, "Terra? Like… Earth, Terra?"
"No, no… Just one 'R'."
"Huh, that's interesting. Right! So, Tera! Let's start with the real basics! Why don't you co over here and we'll see what we have to work with?"
I got up from my seat but not before Amber suddenly tugged on my arm to pull in for a kiss.
I was surprised at first but kissed her back before pulling away, only for Mara to pull from the other direction so that she could give a kiss too.
A whistle ca from the bar which was followed quickly by the sound of a slap.
When I broke my kiss with Mara, I found Ragbar rubbing the back of his head while Valiea was scowling at him.
They really are cute.
I circled around the bar to join the couple behind the counter, leaving the drink that Valiea made for untouched.
"Ow, ow… Ahem… You can stand right over here Tera. Here, take this."
He handed one of the cocktail mixers to and I grabbed it before moving to the place he asked to stand.
"Alright, let's see you do this flip first~"
He pinched the bottom of his own cocktail mixer between his thumb and middle finger before flicking his wrist, causing the container to rotate outwards and spending a brief mont upside down before ending upright again.
It was a simple enough motion so I simply did it, flicking my wrist just like he did to replicate the move.
He grinned, "Good, good~ Well done~"
Valiea smacked him on the head again, "She's not a baby, stop treating her like one."
"Honey… Co one. We have to make sure she at least can do the basics… Isn't this how I taught you?"
"You were trying to get in my pants back then, that's why you were babying . You're not trying to get in her pants, are you?"
"How can that be honey? I only have eyes for you, baby!"
He started making kissy faces at her and while Valiea looked annoyed, she went ahead to kiss him anyway.
He chuckled before turning back to , "Alright, I admit that was kind of a joke to get it started but if you had trouble doing that then I was going to just keep to the baby steps. Now do you know how to juggle?"
I scratched my cheek, "Err… Kind of, I guess? Never tried with bottles before that's for sure."
He waved at , "That's fine. You see, the trick to flair bartending is that it's basically a performance. It's all about the rhythm, the confidence and the recovery. All that spinning and throwing wouldn't an anything if the bottle ends up dropping on the floor."
Ragbar then pulled out a bottle from the rack, "The nice thing about it is that because it's your performance, even if you screw up, the crowd wouldn't know it unless you showed it."
He tossed the bottle into the air and it seed like he threw it a little too far forward as it was clearly out of his reach.
But then he took a step forward and used the cocktail mixer to extend his reach right as the bottle ca spinning down, dropping right into the mixer before he pulled it back and making it look like it was completely intentional.
He pulled it out with a grin, "That's just telling you not to worry about screwing up your routine as long as you can recover from it. Let's start with sothing simple first!"
That's what you said for that cocktail mixer flick…
He placed the bottle back on the rail and nodded at , "Watch."
He grabbed the bottle again but this ti with his thumb pointing downwards as he grabbed the bottle with his right hand while still holding the mixer in his left.
He lifted it up and swung it over his head before resting the bottle on his right shoulder, bringing the mixer up to the end of the bottle to grab the neck with his pinkie and ring finger on his left hand while still holding the mixer with the rest of his fingers.
He then let go of the bottle with his right hand and before he shrugged his right shoulder, the action causing the bottle to roll down his arm while the liquid in the bottle continued to flow into the mixer.
When it reached the end of his right fingertip, he tightened his left hand's grip on the bottle and did a flip with his wrist to spin both the bottle and the mixer without dropping them before taking the bottle out with his now freed right hand.
"See? Simple right? Just an overhead swing around the ear to an overarm roll and pour. Basic as basic can be. Give it a shot! Try to fill it up to the halfway point in the mixer before you stop."
Err… Ok? I guess this looks simple enough to imitate.
He stepped away after placing the sa bottle back on the rail so I took his position and held the mixer in the sa position as he had before picking up the bottle the exact sa way.
Trying my best not to panic and drop the bottle, I swung it over my head while quickly bringing the cocktail mixer up to the space between my shoulder and neck, allowing the bottle to slide into the mixer and begin pouring the liquid out into the mixer.
I then grabbed it with my pinkie and ring finger on my left hand while releasing my right hand from the bottle to allow it to start rolling.
But it seems like I misjudged the speed as the bottle started rolling faster than I thought it would and my left hand quickly slid down to keep up with it.
It reached the end of my right hand and, in a fit of panic, I jerked my right hand up which caused the bottle to bounce up into the air.
Still panicking, I quickly tried to flip my left wrist back to an upright position but I ended up twisting it so forcefully that it sent the bottle flying up into the air instead as I lost my grip on the bottle.
At this point, the only thing on my mind was to make sure the bottle doesn't fall on the ground so I quickly swung my right arm across to catch the bottle out of midair.
But I also realised that my left arm was in the way so I had to do a spin with both arms until I flipped the mixer three hundred and sixty degrees to deposit it back on the bar counter while I swung my right arm in a circle behind my back.
It was then that I realised that I most likely did not pour enough to fill up half of the mixer so I tried to swing my arm back, unintentionally spinning the bottle in between my fingers before I dropped the bottle back in the mixer.
I then pulled the bottle up by the base so that I could watch it fill up to the halfway mark before taking the bottle away and dropping it back into the speed rail.
Whew… Almost screwed up back there but I'm glad I managed to do it anyway.
Guess this ans I'll still need so practice attempts before I can get it right but that's fine, I wasn't expecting myself to get it right the first ti anyway.
As I wanted to ask what I should do with the liquid inside the mixer, I realised that Ragbar was staring at with wide eyes, his mouth even hanging open for so reason.
Conversely, Valiea was looking smug and was even smirking at .
Err… Did I do sothing wrong? Why are they looking at like that?
I turned to the girls and I found Amber and Mara looking at with what I recognised were bedroom eyes.
What's going on?
