Err… Why are they looking at like that? Did I do sothing wrong?
I looked back at my cocktail mixer, wondering if I had screwed up there sohow. But I couldn't see anything wrong though?
Valiea then nudged her elbow into her husband's ribs, "What did I tell you? Stop babying her. She's better than that."
"I… Err… I… I don't even…" He mumbled before suddenly straightening himself to face . "Tera… Could I ask if you really have no experience before today in flair bartending?"
I nodded, "I've seen so on the… Umm… GalaNet before but I've never actually attempted to do it myself before today. The most that I've done is just mix beers together as a sort of hobby."
He frowned before giving a serious look, "Can you try to do what you just did again?"
Err… Ok?
I picked up the cocktail mixer before turning to him, "Where should I…"
He gestured to the sink at the side, "That's just water, you can toss it out."
Oh, I guess it would be stupid to think that I was using actual alcohol to practice since that would be a waste if I screwed up.
I did as he said and tossed out the water in my cocktail mixer into the sink before resetting myself to try again.
Ok… Breathe in… Breathe out…
I moved once again, grabbing the bottle from the speed rail and swinging it around my head to drop it into my mixer that was already raised and waiting at my shoulder.
I made sure to grab onto the bottle properly this ti and controlled its roll down my arm, stopping it just as it reached the tip so that I could rotate my wrist away from my arm before waiting for it to finish pouring so that I could grab the bottle and move it away.
Alright, this one was perfectly executed this ti and without any flaws! So how was that?!
I turned towards the couple and they were all staring at with narrowed eyes, as though I did sothing wrong again.
What?! What did I do this ti!?
Ragbar pointed at my cocktail mixer, "What happened to the previous flip and bottle throw?"
"Eh? Err… I an… That wasn't part of what you wanted to do so those were mistakes wasn't it? I made sure not to do it this ti."
Ragbar pursed his lips and seed to go into deep thought after hearing my answer.
Valiea then took the chance to step in front of him to address , "Tera, do you rember what I did to make your drink earlier?"
I blinked at her and thought for a mont, "Err… I think so?"
"Can you try doing it?"
"Ha? Are you crazy? There's no way I can do that! I'll break the bottles if I even try!"
Unexpectedly, Valiea ca forward and pulled out one of the bottles off the rails before raising up into the air and throwing it at the ground.
I gasped and flinched back and covered my face with my arms, expecting the bottle to shatter into a million pieces but the sound of glass shattering never ca.
I slowly pulled my arms away to see the bottle Valiea had thrown in her hands, still in one piece.
"Watch," She instructed, throwing the bottle on the ground again.
I still couldn't help but flinch back though I didn't try to hide myself this ti.
Then I realised why she wanted to watch.
Instead of smashing into pieces, the bottle bounced off the floor and flew back into the air almost like it was made of rubber, allowing Valiea to catch it casually out of the air.
"These bottles here are practice bottles made of a special material," Valiea explained, flipping the bottle in her hand. "They feel like glass but they aren't actually made of glass and they bounce instead of shattering if they hit the ground as I have demonstrated. So you don't even need to worry about dropping them. Ah, but the real ones are made of glass so this is only for practice, ok?"
Oh… I an… If you show sothing like that, then I guess I could give it a try?
She pushed the bottle towards and I hesitated for a mont before moving to grab it.
Just in case, I also tried to test it myself by dropping the bottle on the floor and sure enough, the bottle bounced right back up instead of being smashed.
The interesting thing was that the shape of the bottle did not deform like how you might expect a rubber ball would when hitting sothing, so I'm guessing this was sothing like a soccer or a basketball bouncing off the ground.
Yet if I flick my finger against it, it would make a clinking noise like a glass would.
How curious…
I guess that's the magic of future technology so I guess I'll just accept it.
Right… If I rember correctly… First it was the ice cubes so I went ahead to grab another cocktail mixer to put it in the ice dispenser, letting several of those cubes drop into the mixer.
Err… What was the next step again? Ah right, tossing the ice cubes in the air. I think she also did a spin as well?
I did just that and quickly grabbed the other mixer while the ice cubes were still in the air before doing a spin to swing the mixer in front of , catching each of them as they fell in front of .
Then I think she did sothing like this…
I grabbed the bottle I rember seeing her take and flipped it out of its rail, my eyes locked on it and quickly calculating its trajectory before moving my hand with the mixer in its flight path, successfully catching it and letting the liquid flow into it.
Then I think she grabbed a second bottle and started juggling?
While the first bottle was still pouring, I picked up the second bottle and tossed it into the air right before I picked up the first bottle to toss that into the air as well.
I then realised that I didn't actually pour enough into the mixer.
Crap… I need to pour more from the first bottle…
I looked up and quickly caught the second bottle from the air and I panicked a little as I saw the first bottle dropping down as well.
Err… I think I saw her grabbing it in between her fingers so I guess I can try that?
I swung the hand that still had the second bottle in an arc and quickly caught the first bottle as well in between my middle and ring finger.
Oh hey! I managed to do it!
I was actually thinking that I would end up missing it and the bottle will just drop on the floor but I'll just catch it on the rebound anyway so it was no big deal.
Oh! And since the bottles were all facing the sa direction… I could just do this!
I brought the cocktail mixer close to my body before rotating my arm once more to end with both bottles hovering over the mixer, allowing both liquids to pour into the mixer at the sa ti.
Hmm… Hmm… I think this should be enough? So now I need to put the bottles back into their original places and then I can start shaking it.
But I think just placing them back there normally would be boring so I guess I'm expected to do so tricks before putting them back.
I rotated my arms in opposite directions and I placed the cocktail mixer on the bar while tossing one of the bottles into the air behind my back.
To be honest, I'm just freestyling at this point since I already knew I screwed up anyway so I just wanted to see what else I could do especially since the bottles won't break even if I fucked up.
I spun in a circle before catching the bottle with an underhand grip and then spinning both bottles in my hands before placing them back where I had picked them up from.
That freed my hands up so that I could combine the mixers together and start shaking them.
I honestly have no idea how long I should shake it for nor how hard I should actually shake it so I just relied on my gut instinct to decide for instead.
When I felt that it was ready, I brought out a cocktail glass and poured out the resulting mixture into it.
Oh~ The colour seems to be the sa so I think it ca out well?
I turned to look at the others to see their reactions and Ragbar had his mouth agape while Valiea was looking at him smugly with an 'I told you so' face.
Err… Was there sothing I missed again?
