After about twenty minutes, Qi Cheng arrived at the place Tang Yanqi ntioned and stood in front of Sheng Jianan. Qi swallowed hard; this wasn’t the first ti she had seen Sheng Jianan up close. She had t him before when Tang Yanqi was in the hospital.
But this was completely different. Before, all of Qi Cheng’s attention was on Tang Yanqi, so she hadn’t paid much attention to Sheng Jianan, but now...
Tang Yanqi took the things Qi Cheng handed over and was about to say sothing when she heard Sheng Jianan speak, "Qi Cheng?"
Upon hearing her forr crush calling her na, Qi’s fangirl instincts exploded instantly, nodding frantically, "Uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh!"
Sheng Jianan gave Qi Cheng a very gentle smile, "It’s almost dinner ti. Thanks for making the trip, Qi. If you don’t mind, I’d like to treat you to dinner."
Tang Yanqi widened her eyes at Sheng Jianan, as if she had just heard so monuntal news. Qi Cheng was also stunned, her fangirl instincts flaring up again, her eyes sparkling instantly, "I don’t mind, I don’t mind."
After speaking, she seed to realize what she said might not be quite right, and quickly corrected herself, "Thank you... Thank you, Mr. Sheng."
"You’re welco."
Sheng Jianan maintained a warm smile on his face and then turned to Tang Yanqi, "Shall we begin?"
Tang Yanqi had no idea what Sheng Jianan was thinking, so she could only hesitantly hand over the topics she had chosen to him.
Sheng Jianan sat down on the chair in front of the desk and opened the topic report Tang Yanqi had created, his expression still carrying Sheng Jianan’s distinctive boldness.
Tang Yanqi stood by his side. After a while, Sheng Jianan pulled out a docunt and turned to look at Tang Yanqi, "Is this the one you want to write about the most?"
Tang Yanqi glanced over and was secretly surprised. She’s a diligent person, so she had thoroughly prepared each topic. In the materials she handed to Sheng Jianan, each topic included reasons for her choice. Tang Yanqi prided herself on taking each seriously, yet Sheng Jianan pinpointed the one closest to her heart.
Though she didn’t know how he could tell, Tang Yanqi still nodded, "Yes."
"Reasons!"
"They’re written there."
"Reasons beyond those. Don’t tell you have none."
Tang Yanqi bit her lip and began to explain. She kept it succinct, trying not to leave any loopholes, but Sheng Jianan still found flaws and questioned her statents.
Unknowingly, Tang Yanqi had gone from standing to sitting. Unnoticed, Sheng Jianan’s arm had co to rest on the back of Tang Yanqi’s chair. Before she knew it, the distance between them had narrowed.
Initially, Qi Cheng was quietly texting on the sofa. When she looked up, she saw at the desk that Tang Yanqi was holding a pen, lightly biting her lip, intently focused on sothing.
And Sheng Jianan, one arm resting on her chair back and the other propped on the desk. From Qi Cheng’s angle, Tang Yanqi’s fra was almost completely enveloped by Sheng Jianan’s. Qi’s gossip instincts fired up. Though she remained outwardly calm, her heart was racing. Qi Cheng took out her phone, pretending she was about to send a ssage, slowly lifting it.
The soft shutter sound froze an image in ti, capturing Tang Yanqi’s attentive deanor as she concentrated on the point Sheng Jianan was illustrating, entirely unaware of the discreet little act on the side.
