Sheng Jianan simply cooked a bowl of noodles and heated a cup of milk for Tang Yanqi, pulling her to the dining table to sit down, indicating he wanted her to eat with him.
The man was truly hungry; within a few bites, more than half of the noodles in the bowl were gone.
Tang Yanqi watched his profile illuminated by the light and held back before speaking: "I went to have lunch with Bingbing this afternoon and saw Lu Qilin."
Sheng Jianan’s chopsticks paused, without a word, and Tang Yanqi continued: "He told a few things."
Tang Yanqi spoke calmly, not noticing that Sheng Jianan’s fingers holding the chopsticks slightly tightened. He could roughly guess what Lu Qilin would say to her.
It was his misunderstanding of her, a very deep misunderstanding.
"Actually, things aren’t the way you think. Although I don’t know why you connected those two things, they are unrelated. I was asking for money at that ti for the Tang Family."
Sheng Jianan tightened his grip on the chopsticks again. Actually, he had considered this possibility initially but hadn’t heard of any problems with the Tang Family at the ti. Besides, if the Tang Family needed money, they should have approached him directly, not let her handle it herself.
So the thought just flashed in his mind and passed, without much consideration.
Now, knowing he misunderstood her, and hearing the truth from her mouth, Sheng Jianan felt, for the first ti, that sha could be such an unbearable emotion.
His chopsticks were suspended for a long ti before Sheng Jianan suddenly put them down, stretched out his long arms, and pulled Tang Yanqi into his embrace.
"I’m sorry."
Tang Yanqi slightly curled her lips. It seed that since they reunited, these were the words she had heard most from Sheng Jianan.
Reaching out to hug the man’s waist, Tang Yanqi couldn’t help but laugh: "How did you connect those two things? Mr. Sheng, did your high intelligence go to waste?"
Sheng Jianan couldn’t help laughing too. At that ti, it seed reasonable and logical, the only possibility. Looking back now, wasn’t it just a waste of intelligence?
What kind of person is Tang Yanqi? Didn’t he know it clearly?
How could the girl he liked do such a thing?
"Well, maybe so."
Intelligence, sothing purely rational, often deviates when mixed with emotional factors.
He was not unintelligent, just blinded by emotions and by an emotion called "insecurity" which clouded his judgnt.
Sheng Jianan lowered his eyes and glanced at the top of the woman’s head in his arms.
He was insecure, both before and now.
How much she liked him, he didn’t know, but how much he liked her, he did know.

Work at the embassy gradually fell into routine. She had spent so ti abroad, was smart, and adapted quickly.
But the work here was too busy, with a lot of complicated matters, and it so happened that recently Sheng Jianan seed to be busy with sothing too, both of them were busy as bees.
Half a month passed, and they barely had ti to speak properly.
Often Sheng Jianan hadn’t gotten up yet when she had already left, and when she was asleep, Sheng Jianan hadn’t returned yet.
On weekends, when they barely had a chance to et, one day Tang Yanqi was on duty, and the other day Sheng Jianan was working overti.
After finishing the last piece of translation work, Tang Yanqi lay on the table, too exhausted, her shoulders burdened heavily, and her eyes barely staying open.
Forcing herself to check the ti, there were just two minutes left before lunch break.
Tang Yanqi lay down on the table to sleep, not even hearing soone call her to lunch.
In a daze, she didn’t know how long she had slept before waking up, shivering with cold, her nose slightly stuffy, as if she had caught a cold.
