"Tang, I noticed you didn’t go for lunch. What’s wrong? Not feeling well?"
A woman in her early thirties, sitting at the desk behind Tang Yanqi, asked with concern when she returned from lunch and saw Tang Yanqi looking unwell.
Tang Yanqi smiled slightly, "Maybe I’ve been too busy lately, feeling a bit tired."
"With the sumr break rush, being busy is a given. You can’t skip als though. How can you cope in the afternoon? Here, I have so egg tarts, have a bit to stave off the hunger."
It was out of kindness, and Tang Yanqi couldn’t refuse. Besides, there wasn’t enough ti to go out for lunch now, and she’d surely struggle to get through the afternoon without eating sothing.
"Thank you, then I won’t be polite."
"Go ahead, eat. I just bought them this morning."
Tang Yanqi reached for one, from a well-known store famous for its egg tarts. But as soon as it got near her mouth, the rich aroma turned into a queasy sensation, her stomach churned, and with trembling hands, she dropped the tart to the floor. Ignoring it, she grabbed the trash can by her foot and began to retch.
Nothing much ca out, just a bit of dry heaving and acid, yet her stomach was still upset, and her complexion turned pale in an instant.
"Tang? What’s happening to you?"
The woman who had given her the egg tart quickly ca over, helping her sit back in the chair. "How co you’re feeling this bad? You should go to the hospital. Look at your face, it’s so pale."
"No... I’m fine, maybe I just caught a chill."
Though the weather outside was hot, the office had air conditioning on, making it a bit cool to wear short sleeves.
As Tang Yanqi spoke, she felt nauseous again, retching a couple of tis.
The woman’s brows furrowed gradually. Having been through similar experiences, she knew that even a gastric cold wouldn’t co on this quickly. She turned to fetch Tang Yanqi a cup of water and said earnestly, "Tang, could you be pregnant?"
"Pfft..."
Tang Yanqi was sipping water, and upon hearing this, she sprayed it out and coughed sharply, "No... no way, right?"
"What do you an no way? You young ones nowadays don’t take care of your own health. Think about it, when was the last ti you had that?"
It was common knowledge in the office that Tang Yanqi had a boyfriend. She was attractive, and within just a week of joining, many had shown interest. To avoid unnecessary trouble and keep a certain overjealous person in check,

Now, hearing the woman’s reminder, Tang Yanqi reflected and realized she hadn’t had it for a while. But since her cycle was never regular, she hadn’t given it much thought.

"Tang, this is serious. Tomorrow is the weekend anyway, so taking a half-day off today won’t matter. Go talk to the supervisor. In your current state, you won’t be able to do much here anyway. Don’t take your youth for granted and neglect your health, listen to my advice."
Tang Yanqi hesitated for a couple of seconds, then nodded in agreent. Asking the supervisor for leave turned out to be smooth. Leaving the embassy, she got into her car and leaned on the steering wheel, feeling indescribable.

Ever since returning, she and Sheng Jianan hadn’t used protection often during intimacy, so pregnancy was possible.
