Jiayu paused her eating, lowered her eyes, feeling a bit awkward: "Mu Ke, actually you... you don’t have to be so nice to ."
Mu Ke’s cold gaze was on her, and even though Jiayu didn’t lift her eyes, she could feel the oppressive gaze from the man above.
His gaze was just too compelling, so Jiayu had no choice but to lift her head and et his eyes.
Mu Ke suddenly smiled: "Why are you so particular about personally choosing even a tiny screw for your bookstore?"

His train of thought jumped too quickly, and Jiayu couldn’t react for a mont. She was stunned for two seconds before speaking haltingly: "Because I like it."

Jiayu realized that when facing this man, her intellect always seed a bit lacking. For example, it took her a full two minutes to comprehend the aning behind his words.

But sotis, giving is also a form of joy. Because of liking, one is willing to give, which is a kind of joy, a kind of happiness.
Jiayu fell silent and continued eating quietly.
Perhaps due to the power outage, the room felt much quieter than usual.
The initial discomfort Jiayu felt gradually relaxed as she finished eating, sighing in satisfaction, her gaze falling on the white candle and its dancing fla.
Candlelight isn’t as bright as electric light, yet it always offers a kind of hazy beauty.

Mu Ke looked at the reflection of the tiny fla in the woman’s eyes, was silent for two seconds, then laughed as well: "Of course not."
Jiayu thought he simply felt that given the circumstances, it couldn’t really be associated with a romantic candlelight dinner.
Then she heard Mu Ke speak lightly: "At most, it’s a candlelight supper."

Doctor Mu, do you know that joke of yours is quite cold?
After finishing the food, because there was no power, Mu Ke didn’t clean up; he just gathered all the candles from the table into the living room. A dozen candles gathered together, making the room brighter.

When he first ca in, Jiayu had noticed that his clothes were a bit wet, and the cuffs of his pants were dripping water.
Moreover, the food had clearly been in a warm box but was still mostly cold, evidently indicating that Mu Ke’s journey was not smooth.
"Why don’t you stay here?"
The man halted his steps and turned to look at her.
Jiayu felt very uneasy, suggesting so made inviting a man to stay at her house late at night sound rather odd.
