Mu Ke carried Jiayu on his back back to the apartnt and placed her on the bed. Jiayu suddenly got up, stumbled to the bathroom, and retched over the toilet.
Mu Ke frowned even deeper, gently patting Jiayu’s back. After she stopped vomiting, he picked her up again and gave her a cup of water to rinse her mouth.
The bathroom was filled with an unpleasant sll. Jiayu leaned weakly against Mu Ke’s chest. This man, who had a cleanliness obsession and was a neat freak, was now cautiously taking care of the not-so-clean woman in his arms.
Mu Ke took off Jiayu’s jacket and threw it directly on the floor, then carried her horizontally to the bed and fetched a warm towel to wipe her face and hands.
Finally, he made a cup of honey water and brought it in.
After vomiting and drinking the honey water, Jiayu lay on the bed for a while, feeling much better but her head was heavy, and she didn’t want to get up.

In both studies and career, Mu Ke had experienced tis far more exhausting than today. When people are tired, they tend to be irritable, and he was no exception. But as a top psychology student, Mu Ke had hundreds of ways to dispel internal agitation; still, he always felt sothing was missing, sothing wasn’t quite right, leaving a lingering emptiness inside.
It wasn’t until today, after the fatigue, as he held the person in his arms and rested his eyes, that Mu Ke finally understood what had been missing all these years.
No matter how great the honor, or how splendid the life, none could compare to having her within reach.
