"Hmph, Xin Ke, do you think you have the leverage to negotiate with now?"
Sheng Jiayu listened to their conversation, feeling soone approaching her. Suddenly, sothing icy and slightly sharp was pressed against her neck.
There was no pain, but she could tell it was a cold knife.
"Don’t..."
Xin Ke also shouted, and then ca the sound of sothing hitting the ground, presumably from Xin Ke throwing the money over.
Soon, Sheng Jiayu heard Su Wan’s voice: "You, co over here, hands on your head."
Sheng Jiayu felt herself being pulled out of the vehicle again. The iron gate clanged open, and then Sheng Jiayu felt her hands and feet being untied, but within five seconds, she was tied up again, this ti seemingly to a pole.
"Xin Ke, I really didn’t expect you to give all your money for her, hahaha... You actually did it for her... Well, you two just stay here. A day as a married couple is a hundred days of grace. I’m giving you a big gift. Once I successfully leave B City, soone will send you on your way."
The large iron gate clanged shut again, and the surroundings fell into silence, complete silence.
After about five minutes, Sheng Jiayu heard Xin Ke whispering: "Jiayu, Jiayu, are you awake?"
Only then did Sheng Jiayu slowly open her eyes: "Mm..."
"That’s great, don’t be scared. I’ll get you untied right away, we need to get out as soon as possible."
Sheng Jiayu parted her lips: "How are you going to untie it?"
"Don’t worry, I have a way."
After Xin Ke spoke, Sheng Jiayu could feel him constantly twisting his body. The two of them were tied back-to-back to the poles, so Sheng Jiayu couldn’t see, only hearing the sound of clothes rubbing against the pole. Soon, she heard Xin Ke sigh with relief.
"Jiayu, don’t be afraid, I’ll untie you."
Xin Ke had walked over. Towards this man, Sheng Jiayu had many emotions: love, pain, resentnt, giving up, and eventually not loving him. At the core, she still held so resentnt towards him.
But now, he was the one saving her. Sheng Jiayu felt a bit grateful, and she could roughly guess the situation. Su Wan used her to threaten him, and he indeed ca to rescue her.
Xin Ke untied Sheng Jiayu’s ropes, and soon they both slled a strong burnt odor. Xin Ke quickly moved to the iron gate, clanging it open; outside, the fire had already started.
Sheng Jiayu’s heart tightened—Su Wan actually wanted to burn them to death.
In her daze, Xin Ke had grabbed her hand: "The fire isn’t too big yet, let’s rush out."
He unfastened Sheng Jiayu’s coat buttons: "Take it off, use it as a shield to rush out."
The fire was only burning around the warehouse’s periter, indeed not too big. Sheng Jiayu ignored the pain in her waist and back, gritting her teeth as she quickly ran outside.
Breaking through the heat and thick smoke, the air suddenly beca fresh. Sheng Jiayu hadn’t had ti to catch her breath when she saw a car screeching to a halt not far away.
A tall figure got out of the car and rushed towards her.
Mu Ke... it was Mu Ke!
All the restraint and suppression exploded in full force at that mont. Sheng Jiayu broke away from Xin Ke’s grasp—Mu Ke... Mu Ke, he was here.
Getting out of the car and seeing the blazing fire for a mont, Mu Ke only felt his heart sinking continuously. But when Sheng Jiayu threw herself into his arms, his entire insides twisted together.
