A little later, Lin Mubai was cooking in the kitchen, tangled up with a call from his mom: "Mom, is sothing up?"
"You rascal, can’t I call just because there’s nothing wrong? You really have a wife now and don’t need anymore."
"Don’t say that, Mom." Lin Mubai knew deep down that the real point was yet to co.
"Humph, as if you wouldn’t dare. Has Nannan co ho? When are you both coming back?" What a troubleso son, getting married and still keeping it a secret from the family; even the in-laws aren’t happy.
Lin Mubai knew he was in the wrong. Although it wasn’t his idea, he couldn’t just bla it on his wife, so he took all the responsibility upon himself: "Mom, I’m sorry, we got married and didn’t tell you. I really ssed up. I’ll accompany An Nan to visit her mother tomorrow, and we’ll be back for dinner the day after."
"Alright, alright. But isn’t Nannan’s mom no longer with us?"
"Yes, the grave is in B City."
"I see. Then I’ll go with your dad tomorrow. Don’t tell Nannan yet; just give the address later."
"Okay, I got it, Mom. Thank you, Mom."
"Why be so polite with ? Just make sure you and Nannan are happy together in the future."
"Okay, I understand, Mom."
Back ho from the supermarket, An Nan felt sleepy again but didn’t want to go back to her room, so Lin Mubai turned up the heater in the living room and let her lie on the sofa. He was busy in the kitchen but kept an eye on her in the living room, worried she might accidentally fall off while sleeping.
The key An Jiayou had was given to him by Lin Mubai earlier, so when he returned, he didn’t knock but opened the door directly with the key.
He spotted the sleeping figure on the living room sofa imdiately and whispered to the person who brought him back: "Uncle Xia Yang, keep your voice down."
Han Xiayang also saw the figure on the sofa and quickly moved carefully.
His fear wasn’t about waking the sleeping person; it was about soone who’s protective. Seeing the busy figure in the kitchen, he stood at the entrance with eyes wide open.
Han Xiayang knew his good buddy could cook but was still shocked by the sight, entirely unexpected.
The person busy in the kitchen saw the shocked face standing at the kitchen door and habitually furrowed his brows: "Why are you here?" His voice was purposefully kept low.
Han Xiayang was frustrated by soone’s bridge-burning action. Initially planning to check things out and leave, he decided to stay. He wanted to taste this Young Master’s cooking, whether welcod or not. Tonight, with An Nan here, he didn’t believe he’d be kicked out successfully.
After being disliked by a certain petty man, Han Xiayang turned around directly and sat on the living room sofa, quietly waiting for soone to wake up.
Perhaps the atmosphere around her felt unfamiliar, An Nan quickly awoke and saw Han Xiayang sitting not far away, instantly becoming disoriented. The other seized the mont to sincerely request: "An Nan, can I stay for dinner?"
"Uh, okay." With such an ask, how could An Nan refuse?
But this mont displeased Young Master Lin, who stepped out of the kitchen with a cold smile, saying sothing so infuriating: "You can stay for dinner, but please help yourself to enjoy the al."
