Han Xiayang stared incredulously at Young Master Lin coming out of the kitchen with a plate, his face showing an expression as if he couldn’t believe what he’d heard.
Beside him were two faces looking on with amusent.
And Lin Mubai, who placed the plate on the dining table, imdiately confird Han’s suspicion with his words: "You didn’t hear wrong, and I’m serious. You can stay for dinner, but you’ll have to help yourself."
A pig-like scream quickly echoed through the living room: "Lin Mubai, can you still play nicely? How can you do this?"
"Why can’t I?"
"You..."
All right, Han fell silent, and instantly, he shot a pleading glance toward An Nan, who shrugged innocently: "Sorry, I can’t do anything either. You understand that man’s temper; he always does what he says." The hidden aning being that she couldn’t help either.
After speaking, An Nan quickly gave her son a signal, and the two darted to the dining table, obediently sitting down, waiting for soone to feed them.
Lin Mubai soon brought all the dishes over, focusing on serving his wife and kid without glancing once at the person on the sofa, forcing Han Xiayang to accept reality and obediently walk into the kitchen.
But once he entered, he was even more dumbfounded.
He didn’t even know how to cook anything, not even simple noodles. After wandering helplessly in the kitchen for a long ti, upon seeing the plain rice in the rice cooker, he hatched a plan.
He planned to sit in front of the family with a bowl of plain rice, not believing they would be so heartless to let him eat only rice without any dishes, soon realizing that this family was indeed ruthless.
"Wow, this braised pork ribs look delicious."
"Wow, this braised fish looks great too—it’s been ages since I’ve had fish."
"And, and all these look so tasty."
At the dining table, Han Xiayang was the only one performing, pitifully shoveling rice into his mouth while continuously muttering.
Finally, soone got impatient.
Lin Mubai sternly placed his chopsticks back on the table, coldly shot a glare at the opposite soone, and uttered word by word: "If you’re tired of plain rice, then leave now."
"No, no, I’m eating, I’m eating." Boo hoo, even plain rice is better than nothing.
By the end, Han Xiayang’s face grew more and more bitter.
An Nan finally couldn’t bear to watch any longer, and found an excuse to dismiss soone: "Little White, it’s a bit chilly, can you fetch my red coat from the room closet, please?"
Lin Mubai knew exactly what his wife’s intentions were, and gave soone a warning glance before standing up and heading to the master bedroom. As his figure disappeared from view, two pairs of chopsticks swiftly placed food in Han Xiayang’s bowl, and An Nan was both helping and keeping an eye on the room’s movent.
"Xia Yang, quickly, quickly go eat on the balcony."
"Okay, okay, I’m going now."
On the balcony, Han Xiayang gobbled it down as if he hadn’t eaten in ten lifetis; anwhile, he was nearly crying inside. Boo hoo, why is he so pitiful, eating like a thief? Yet, he couldn’t deny, Young Master Lin’s cooking was really good, and tomorrow he could brag to those folks, it was worth it.
