Kanna instantly beca a mischief-maker, eager to see how Kal'tsit would handle this situation.
"Ace, you say? I understand…" Although she sounded calm, the gritting of her teeth didn't escape Kanna's ears.
At this mont, Ace, far away on Rhodes Island, felt a chill for so unknown reason. He couldn't help but look around. Finding nothing, he muttered, wondering if he had caught a cold and if he should go to the dical Departnt for a check-up.
"We are lawful citizens from Laterano. We only just learned of what happened in this town. Your suspicions are baseless, and your statents are full of holes. Godfather Corleone was a great man, but your actions will only bring sha upon him in death…" After getting out of the car, Kal'tsit, using her "extensive" knowledge, imdiately launched into a tirade.
She verbally lambasted the other party for a full ten minutes without a single curse word. Even the two factions nearby, who had been fighting fiercely earlier, put down their weapons and curiously looked over. Passersby were even more drawn to Kal'tsit, forming a circle around her.
Looking at the three-deep, three-out circle of onlookers, Kanna couldn't help but sigh, observing that joining in on the excitent was human nature.
"Enough, you bitch! I challenge you to a duel!"
The leader's face was flushed with anger. If being cursed at initially felt a little satisfying, being surrounded and cursed at for half a day was utterly humiliating.
Hearing the man's words, the onlookers gasped in an uproar. It was one thing for a grown man to lose a verbal argunt to a woman, but to shalessly pull out a weapon and challenge her to a duel?
Given that woman's physique, she didn't look like soone who could fight at all.
"Fight! Fight!" Kanna, at so point, had climbed onto the car roof, holding lon seeds in one hand and waterlon in the other, happily playing the role of an innocent spectator.
"Don't forget you're my guard! If he challenges to a duel, you have to stand in front of !" Seeing Kanna's provocative deanor, Kal'tsit unceremoniously ordered her.
"Oh, this…" Kanna couldn't help but scratch her head. It seed she really had co along as Kal'tsit's guard.
The people nearby were even more startled upon hearing their conversation. This woman's tongue was venomous, and her heart was even crueler, sending a child who looked barely ten years old into battle.
Such behavior, in their eyes, was sothing only the evil Sarkaz would do.
The man was even more enraged. It was one thing to be cursed at just now, but to be told to duel a child? Did she think he couldn't even beat a child?
"Damn it! How dare you look down on !" With a roar, the man completely lost his reason, brandishing the long saber in his hand and slashing towards Kal'tsit.
Just as he was about to enjoy the woman's desperate wails and the splashing blood, a door panel suddenly blocked his path.
A door panel?
Although he wondered where the door panel ca from, his hand movents didn't slow down. Instead, he tried to cut through both the obstacle in front of him and Kal'tsit behind it.
However, his wish was not granted. Accompanied by a clang of tal, the long saber in his hand broke against the "door panel."
It was then that he realized what was in front of him wasn't a door panel at all, but an unusually wide greatsword.
Those further away saw it even more clearly: the mont the man attacked, Kanna, from atop the car, pulled out an extravagantly designed greatsword from beneath her. With a swing of her hand, the greatsword cut through the air and, in an instant, plunged between the man and Kal'tsit.
Kanna lightly jumped down from the car, landing on the greatsword's hilt.
Judging by how the greatsword remained completely still after being struck hard by the saber, and even broke the opponent's weapon, this weapon was definitely not ordinary.
At this mont, the man stared in disbelief at the little dragon-human who had suddenly appeared before him. Before he could react, Kanna lightly flicked his forehead.
The man dramatically tumbled in a circle before collapsing to the ground unconscious. The others looked at the fallen man, utterly bewildered.
"Aren't you going to move aside? We have no grievances or grudges; there's no need to fight to the death!" Even though killing these people would be effortless for Kanna, she still didn't do it. After all, going on a killing spree over such a small matter would be too excessive; she wasn't so kind of serial killer.
The few n also realized that Kanna had held back. After exchanging glances, they lifted the unconscious man from the ground and retreated sullenly towards the church.
The surrounding onlookers, seeing one side leave, also dispersed. Only a few individuals carefully observed Kanna and Kal'tsit, and after realizing they didn't recognize them, quietly departed.
No one pursued them after the vehicle left the town, which relieved Kal'tsit considerably. After all, if they had truly killed soone here, entering Laterano would beco troubleso. She had previously heard from Outcast about Kanna's brutal killings in Victoria, and this was a test. The result was quite satisfactory to Kal'tsit: Kanna did not have the personality of a brutal killer, and her previous actions were likely just extre behavior after witnessing a tragedy.
Not long after, a silver-haired Rupo girl suddenly darted out from the roadside, blocking the car.
"Yo! Looks like we're fated. Are you heading to Scone Town (the next destination)? How about giving a ride?"
The girl's expression was quite wild. Kal'tsit scrutinized her for a mont, then frowned slightly. "Infected?"
"Ha! Don't worry, I won't die anyti soon. I'll just sit on the roof and hitchhike; I won't bother you." Hearing Kal'tsit's words, the girl awkwardly scratched her head.
"Get in!" Before the other party could finish speaking, Kal'tsit opened the back door.
"Ah, hahahaha, thanks! It's much more comfortable sitting inside the car…" The girl wasn't one to fuss; she quickly jumped into the car and leaned back in the reclining seat with a look of contentnt.
"Thanks for earlier!" As the car continued to drive, the girl suddenly spoke.
"Earlier? We didn't do anything earlier; we just passed by." Kal'tsit's gaze remained steady as she calmly replied.
"Alright, but you guys attracting those idiots' attention really helped out. If you have any enemies, you can co to for help. I'll give you a discount, considering today's favor." The girl grinned, her eyes emotionless despite talking about killing.
"You're a killer! Did you kill Corleone, the godfather in town?" Kanna asked, thinking of the other party's profession.
Hearing the question, the other party didn't hide it and admitted it openly, "That's right, I did it. That guy looked like a diligent old man on the surface, but he was actually involved in child trafficking, taking advantage of the border between the two countries. He was usually very cautious; I've been watching him for a long ti, but only recently found an opportunity to act."
