"Then he deserved to die! But you didn't clean up your tail properly!"
Kanna said, naturally extending her hand out the window, and a Thunderbolt Wedge slipped from her hand onto the ground.
Hearing Kanna's words, the silver wolf touched her tail and, finding nothing dirty, seed to realize sothing. She turned and poked her head out the window.
"Don't look, it's just two cars, minor issue." With that, Kanna flicked her finger, sending another Thunderbolt Wedge to the location of the previous one.
Just as the car behind was catching up, a purple light streaked from the front and landed in front of the car.
Then, after a huge roar, the front car was completely blown over onto the roadside. The car behind braked urgently and stopped there, not daring to continue the pursuit.
"That's not right! If they were coming to catch , why only two cars? I rember there were quite a few cars in the city!" The silver wolf's expression was sowhat puzzled.
Kanna and Kal'tsit in front exchanged glances, guessing that the car behind wasn't chasing this person but probably them. However, if they could have righteously claid to have no connection to the attack before, they were now in the sa boat, so stopping these people was no problem.
Only the silver wolf in the back seat looked conflicted, wondering why the other party only sent so few people to chase her, and their attitude wasn't resolute enough.
"By the way, how did you two get out of there so quickly? Don't let the fierce 'transition' fighting fool you; they won't harm civilians." After a while, the silver wolf stopped pondering the previous issue and asked about their journey.
"It's all your fault. You killed the godfather and were wearing church clothes. Now the 'pass' channel here is suspended, and we need to go to Laterano, so we have to find another place to get them again." Kanna was quite nonchalant; for her, it was all tourism, and playing anywhere was the sa.
"Ahahaha, is that so! My bad then!" The silver wolf, squatting in the back seat, said she was sorry, but her face showed no hint of apology.
"My na is Kanna, and the one driving is Kal'tsit. What about you? You said we could find you if we needed help, so you should at least give us a na, otherwise, Siracusa is so big, how will we find you later?"
"You're right! Just call Lapland! I don't plan on changing my na for now. If you need to find , just leave a ssage at any bar in Scone Town, and I'll co find you when I receive it." The silver wolf shook her head indifferently, her eyes darting around the car.
"Lapland? A good na. Are you working for Laterano now?" Kal'tsit, who rarely spoke while driving, finally deigned to speak.
"Not really! Laterano pays well, and they're straightforward, never delaying paynts, unlike Siracusa, which is too chaotic. I barely complete a job, only to find the boss has been killed, and I can't find anyone to settle the bill with. It's a hassle." It was clear that Lapland had no complaints about her current life and was quite satisfied with her identity as a killer.
"Have you ever thought about living a different life?" Kanna glanced at Lapland's seemingly healthy and strong thighs, where obvious black spots were exposed on one side, marring the body's beauty.
Those black spots were a phenonon where Oripathy crystals condensed on the skin once an Infected's Originium concentration reached a certain level, serving as proof of being an Infected.
Lapland's open clothing showed no intention of concealing her Infected appearance. As a killer, she also noticed Kanna's gaze toward her thigh.
"Forget it! See this, little one? I'm an Infected, an Infected who might go 'boom' and explode. Aren't you scared?" Lapland pointed generously to the black spot on her leg, a hint of mockery in her tone.
"Kal'tsit, can we reveal our identities?"
"While I don't think Miss Lapland would be willing, there's nothing to hide about our identities. Perhaps Miss Lapland might even be our client later…"
Although Rhodes Island accepts various individuals with hidden identities, after brief contact, Kal'tsit believed Lapland was not soone who would be willing to settle down. Her eyes were full of wildness and untad spirit. Unless there was a bond that she willingly accepted, Rhodes Island wouldn't be able to keep her.
"We are from Rhodes Island, a dical organization specializing in the research and treatnt of the Infected. The one driving, Dr. Kal'tsit… is also the administrator of Rhodes Island's dical Departnt…" Kanna had originally intended to say 'old hag,' but with a glance from Kal'tsit, she changed her words.
"I knew it! As soon as I got in this car, I slled disinfectant. I thought we were colleagues before! As for working for a dical company, forget it, it's boring. But do you have any effective and cheap special dicines? I have good connections in Siracusa and Laterano. How about we split the profits 50/50 and make money together?" Hearing Kanna's words, Lapland waved her hand dismissively, but then her thoughts turned to the business of Infected dicine.
"Rhodes Island's pharmaceutical business has dedicated departnts and Operators for sales and does not authorize others. If Miss Lapland has a need, she can find Rhodes Island's dical offices in Siracusa or Laterano. We will provide patients with a suitable dical plan at a very reasonable price." Hearing Lapland's words, Kal'tsit frowned, wondering why Kanna would be interested in such a money-grubbing Rupo.
"Tsk! How boring…" Lapland leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes, seemingly unwilling to continue talking.
Perhaps the higher-ups of that small town were busy vying for the "godfather" position, as the group did not suffer any further pursuit afterward. Before night fell, the vehicle drove to the edge of a large mountain.
Lapland jumped out of the car, tidied her weapons, and walked towards the mountain without looking back. "If you don't want to detour for an extra day, drive through the small path over this mountain tomorrow morning, and you'll reach Scone Town. I won't be joining you. See you again if fate allows!"
"See you again if fate allows!" Kanna waved her hand, watching Lapland disappear into the darkness.
"Don't look. Rhodes Island can't tie down this wolf." Kal'tsit unhurriedly took out a box containing dinner from the car and said to Kanna, who was watching Lapland leave, with a helpless tone.
"Do you think Lapland is truly as indifferent as she appears, with nothing she cares about?" Kanna asked, taking the pizza Kal'tsit handed her.
