Capítulo 725: Chapter 632: The Gathering Storm (Part 2)

Nan Zhubin knew his own situation, but Li Lingling was indeed a normal human being who couldn’t withstand this level of overti;

not to ntion that Li Lingling had entered the disaster area for support early on, and with the various psychological and physiological special conditions, her physical state was far from optimal.

Right now, it’s just that due to her excited emotions she “seems” sowhat energetic.

Watching Li Lingling being persuaded by Nan Zhubin to rest, and Nan Zhubin turning around to continue searching for interviewees in the settlent area.

Teacher Black Circle and his peers stood there, at a loss for what to do.

“Old Hei… should we follow him?” his peer felt the fatigue in his body, wondering how much longer he could hold on, “He should stop after two or three interviews, right? We can follow and take notes, and if the teacher isn’t asleep when we go back, we can report…”

But Teacher Black Circle said, “I’m thinking about sothing else right now.”

“What is it?”

“That nurse nad Li Lingling conducted a successful interview independently.”

His peer was surprised, “Old Hei, are you so concerned about this? It’s okay, such things also involve so luck…”

“No.” Teacher Black Circle said, “She only followed Nan Zhubin for one day, yet she showed such ability.”

“And didn’t you notice? When she and Nan Zhubin were reviewing, her conversation was very organized.”

His peer was startled, not quite following Teacher Black Circle’s train of thought.

“Empathy, specification, symbol dissolution, connection to reality, and finally, implenting solutions…” Teacher Black Circle recalled one by one, “This is… a relatively ‘standardized’ procedure!”

“It can be taught to other staff in the camp and then spread widely… psychological intervention dialogue techniques! This is the next phase goal of our research group!”

“And now… Nan Zhubin has already accomplished it!”

His peer was startled, then suddenly alard.

—————–

Before dawn, the office temporarily occupied by Professor Ji’s research group was still brightly lit.

The psychologists’ office had extra power supply.

The air was filled with the exhilarating scent of staying up all night mixed with instant coffee, interspersed with the faint but distinctive sll of paper and ink.

Several large boxes of promotional materials, rushed to be printed overnight, were piled in the corner, with bold titles on the cover like so kind of manifesto: “Scientific Understanding of Natural Disasters,” “Post-disaster Common ntal and Physical Reactions and Self-Adjustnt Guide.”

Professor Ji stood in front of a temporary whiteboard, his eyes filled with excitent, along with a sharpness that made it difficult for the students to look straight at him.

After a while, he struck the whiteboard forcefully, drawing everyone’s attention.

“Everyone, stay sharp!” His voice carried an undeniable authority, “The preliminary preparations are complete, today is the day we officially enter the settlent and intervene in [Group Hysteria].”

He looked around at his subordinates, these students with dark circles under their eyes but whose eyes mixed fatigue, tension, and a hint of excitent infected by the atmosphere.

“Our strategy was made clear yesterday—take the initiative, scientifically break the delusion!” Professor Ji wrote these eight characters heavily on the whiteboard with a marker.

At the other end of the office, there were students taking pictures, which served as a “work trace,” convenient for news reports, social dia articles, or other publicity work after the disaster area operations concluded.

“The core goal is to use the most direct and systematic scientific knowledge and rational cognition to strike and dismantle the ‘Dragon King’ belief system deeply intertwined with the local indigenous culture!”

He turned to the simple layout map of the settlent depicted on the whiteboard.

“Our work is divided into three steps, progressively advancing.”

“Step one, cover basic information and create an environnt.” Professor Ji pointed to several key nodes on the map, “Xiao Zhang, you take two people and set up promotion points in high-traffic areas like breakfast distribution points and supply collection places to distribute our pamphlets.”

“Not only distribute but also explain briefly, with emphasis on highlighting ’causes of natural disasters,’ ‘normal ntal and physical reactions under stress,’ and ‘reversibility of psychological symptoms.’

The student nad nodded imdiately.

“Step two, targeted ho visits for precise cognitive correction.” Professor Ji’s gaze swept across a few other students, “Based on previously collected information, we’ve initially screened families and individuals with more reported symptoms and deeper beliefs. You are to form two groups, carry brochures and simple assessnt forms, and conduct one-on-one communication.”

“Rember our principles: be firm in attitude, clear in logic, and provide solid evidence!” Professor Ji emphasized additionally, “Explain with facts and reason, letting them understand that their feelings are ‘false,’ and a ‘misinterpretation’ by the brain under stress!”

The students continued to nod.

“The third step, and the most crucial one—centralized scientific dissemination conference!” Professor Ji raised his voice, “Tomorrow at 2 p.m., I will personally deliver a lecture in the central open space of the settlent! This will be the most direct and powerful rebuttal against the ‘Dragon King’ narrative!”

“I have already requested the local managent to maintain order, but the key point still requires coordination from our personnel, so the task for everyone is heavy, each person… hmm? Wait, are we missing soone?”

Professor Ji suddenly fell silent and began counting the students seated below.

Before he could reach a conclusion, their office door was suddenly knocked on.

Knock knock knock—

“…Teacher, we’re back…”

Teacher Black Circle and his peer appeared in everyone’s sight with unsteady steps.

Professor Ji frowned, arriving late to etings was a major taboo for the research group, especially since it interrupted the workflow of task assignnts.

He was about to scold them, but after noticing the heavy dark circles on these two students’ faces, his tone subconsciously softened a degree.

“…Why are you just getting back?”

Teacher Black Circle was ntally dazed, this ti the peer answered: “Last night Nan Zhubin was still conducting interviews non-stop, we were worried about missing any valuable data, so we followed him until he went back to rest in the morning…”

“You an he conducted interviews all day yesterday, and still stayed up all night?!”

Professor Ji smiled, ready to scold this absurd report, but Teacher Black Circle on the side already presented the interview notes.

Professor Ji flipped through them, and as his gaze shifted, the expression on his face gradually softened.

“Indeed, very well-structured…” After a while, Professor Ji pursed his lips, “Bai Qinghua is quite adept at selecting people, no wonder he directly kept a young man who hasn’t even passed his graduate entrance exam by his side…”

“Their work status still needs soone to keep an eye on it.” Professor Ji looked at Teacher Black Circle and his peer, “Forget it, you go back and rest first. After waking up, ask others to help catch up with the work content you missed.”

“Xiao Zhang, when you go to distribute the pamphlets today, send soone to keep an eye on Nan Zhubin, note his interview content, it might provide so reference for our future work.”

“Avoid conflicts… it’s possible he might be your junior fellow one day.” Professor Ji reminded additionally.

The nad student nodded again.

“Does everyone understand their tasks?” Professor Ji asked sternly at last.

“Understood!” The students responded in unison.

Teacher Black Circle, exhausted and bewildered, glanced around, suddenly feeling out of place in this enthusiastic atmosphere.

Nan Zhubin opened his eyes almost at the sa ti as the first ray of dawn.

After two hours of high-quality sleep, it was as if a precision instrunt had undergone deep maintenance. Although it hadn’t restored Nan Zhubin’s condition to the fullest, it was enough to regain his sharp focus and clear thinking.

Nan Zhubin vaguely noticed that the atmosphere in the settlent seed sowhat off.
