Chapter 182: Establish the Right Values!

Whoooosh—!

The void rift, stretched to an enormous size, continued to tremble without stop—that streak of violet swayed and shifted.

A surge of trendous force erupted violently outward from within, carrying with it a deep, rolling wave of Magic Power. The savage wind breath whipped up dozens of ters of dust into the air.

The already overcast sky was thrown into turbulent waves of dust, and the world outside seed to grow even more oppressive.

The Adventurers waiting outside the rift felt it clearly—that overwhelming force emanating from within the violet haze.

They trembled, seemingly still unable to recover from the suffocating pressure of the great dragon.

"A...a dragon appeared above the Magical Creature Rift?"

"What on earth is this aura?!"

"That is absolutely not sothing any human can stand against! I can't...I can't stay here any longer!"

Their faces were pale with terror, hands shaking as they clutched their own cheeks.

Even Pia—the golden-haired warrior who was nearing the 4th Tier—felt her legs go weak, her entire worldview teetering on the edge of collapse.

She pressed herself against the rock wall, dragging her trembling body, desperate to get away from this place.

As the storm swept in, the abnormality at the Magical Creature Rift spread word throughout the entire Adventurer's Capital.

Vast numbers of Adventurers were seized with panic—yet at the sa ti, many were rubbing their hands together in anticipation.

For these Adventurers who had spent years walking the razor's edge, an abnormal upheaval at the Magical Creature Rift was precisely the kind of challenge where opportunity and danger existed side by side.

The Empire's southern front—the Second Battle Line.

The surrounding iron walls of steel rose into the clouds, the black iron forged into an imnse beast that crouched upon the dust-storm-ravaged earth.

Behind the beast-shaped walls, enormous heavy cannons had been mounted upon the black and jagged high towers.

They swiveled ceaselessly, as though scanning for whatever threat might be coming.

Massive crossbows had also been installed in a ring along the city walls—drawn to full tension, ready to unleash at any mont.

Behind the battle line, a colossal cannon towering into the clouds had been loaded with an enormous elongated arrow fitted with a razor-sharp tip. It was slowly lowering, taking aim at the distant front.

The soldiers inside the city were on full alert, their expressions grave and unyielding.

The Second Battle Line was an indispensable link in the Empire's southern defense.

As the primary battlefront, it was imperative to ensure that no Magical Creature chaos broke out across the entire south.

This was the mightiest guarantee for the entire southern front.

The First Prince stood atop the high tower, clad in golden armor, a sharp gleam in his eyes.

At his side, a crowd of silver-armored officers surrounded him.

He gazed in silence at the Magical Creature Rift in the distance, churning ceaselessly, his brow tightly furrowed.

The sky, veiled by dark clouds, was suffused with deep violet—surging endlessly, like an ocean.

Because of the Calamity of Wind's intrusion, the Magical Creature Rift had grown to an imnse size, and the intense shockwaves generated from within the Abyss began spilling outward without end.

The small garrison of watch-troops deployed there had already withdrawn before the danger arrived and relayed every piece of intelligence back to the battle lines behind.

Knowing ahead of ti ant having one more incrent of preparation and security.

But...

The First Prince slowly closed his eyes.

Under this terrifying anomaly, it would not be the least bit surprising for whatever world-swallowing Magical Creature to erge from the Magical Creature Rift.

The First Prince descended the high tower and, with his officers at his back, took his position before the city gates.

Before him stood over ten thousand soldiers already deployed at every position.

They wore armor, longswords at their hips, not a trace of fear in their eyes—gazing steadily at the surging violet sky in the distance.

Upon this ochre earth, the swaths of iron-black were like sothing inlaid into the ground—unyielding and absolute.

Warrior companies, Knight companies, Mage-soldier corps.

Mages were the fewest in number. Unless one was a high-tier Mage, facing a battlefield like this, they could only serve as Cannon Fodder.

They were to handle logistics and support.

The warriors slowly rolled forward the enormous cannon carriages—pushing wave after wave of iron behemoths into formation.

Those powerful guns and cannons, brimming with all manner of Magic Power, were loaded onto wooden carts and began their slow advance toward the front.

The formation assembled swiftly, and an officer standing behind the First Prince gave a salute.

"Report, Your Highness! The army has fully assembled, and all weapons are completely prepared and ready!"

The First Prince listened to the report, gave a slow nod, and spoke in an unhurried tone:

"This is an abnormal situation—I have already been inford."

"That creature did not co out of the Magical Creature Rift."

The First Prince had never entered a Magical Creature Rift, but he had his knowledge of the Abyss.

Within the already-explored regions, it was impossible for a Magical Creature of such power to exist.

Because the rift itself was unworthy of housing one.

Able to ride the wind without wings, its aura of pressure had already completely surpassed that of any 4th-Tier Magical Creature.

And moreover, based on the intelligence the First Prince had received—

That enormous black dragon had once appeared in the extre northern lands, where it had completely annihilated the Second Prince's army.

And that was a force led by a Prince of the Empire.

Yet it could not withstand even a single blow from that terrifying creature.

In just 3 days, it had traveled from the Empire's extre north all the way to the Empire's south.

That speed of movent...coupled with its towering, boundless fra.

Unfathomably deep.

That was the only thought the First Prince had when it ca to that black dragon.

Then, narrowing his eyes, he continued:

"My Imperial Father has been made aware of that creature's existence and...its species has been classified as—Dragon."

Dragon?

It was difficult to imagine that the slender, elongated creature could be compared to those powerful great dragons.

Yet, going by the terrifying might described in words alone, it was indeed worthy of the na 'Dragon.'

The First Prince drew a breath and issued his orders to the officers behind him.

"Regarding the black dragon's appearance over Godinlima—do everything possible to suppress and conceal it. My Imperial Father must absolutely not find out prematurely!"

"Yes, sir!"

He slowly raised his head, gazing toward that mysterious and tranquil violet sky.

"This will be my victory."

***

Inside the rift, the colossal eye behind the void gate continued to writhe and stir.

Across the countless pupils, a relentless trembling played out.

Like eggs of so parasite, they squeezed out from within those pupils—growing larger and larger.

The initial red gradually beca suffused with violet veins, swelling to the point of bursting.

One by one, the bloated eggs began to crack open, and a dark violet breath seeped outward from within.

The eggshells shattered in an instant, and several insects—each equipped with 5 razor-sharp limbs—dropped into midair.

Their narrow skulls bore sothing resembling a human mouth, and their eyes were compound eyes glowing with countless yellow points of light.

They shakily rose to their feet and instinctively let out piercing shrieks toward the great black dragon before them.

Shortly after, the enormous eye behind the gate began to rotate—as though revealing another face.

On that other face, several more terrifying insects burst forth.

The mont one eye sealed itself fully shut, yet another eye took its place behind the gate and continued spitting small Magical Insects outward.

In an instant, the densely packed violet creatures blanketed the entire arena. They piled upon one another, treading on the void, treading on the bodies of their kin, climbing ceaselessly upward through the vast space.

In barely the blink of an eye, they sward across Dorakon's body at an incomprehensible speed—a mass upon mass of dull violet latching onto Dorakon's black scales, gnawing relentlessly.

Amidst the sound of sharp tearing, the hatching of the eggs finally ceased.

But just as everyone believed these terrifying Magical Insects had reached their limit—

The gate suddenly expanded even further!

Even more wretched, shuddering cries of anguish rose from within.

The void itself seed to have fallen into boundless silence.

Only Viktor knew that the most terrifying thing had barely shown the tip of its iceberg.

A dark-colored body lunged suddenly from the darkness—roughly half the size of the great dragon.

Its upper body was extended in a humanoid shape, yet it had no hands—only a withered skull.

Across the forehead and face, however, dozens of hollow, socket-like holes had been punched through, and violet breath poured ceaselessly from within.

The thin yet enormous skeletal body wrenched itself through the gap of the gate in fitful bursts—the colossal maw, vaguely human in form, snapped open instantly and erupted with terrible, chaotic wails of weeping.

The skeletal, emaciated body seed to continue writhing behind the gate—then, with great difficulty, the other half of its torso was dragged free.

Its lower body resembled an octopus, trailing 8 dark tentacles. And upon each of those tentacles, broken eyes were densely packed from end to end, ceaselessly leaking streams of violet-red blood.

And upon every one of those eyes—the freshly burst insect eggs were plain for all to see!

This utterly horrifying scene was completely laid bare before everyone present.

That decaying, dreadful aura devoured everything in an instant.

Every one of the Adventurers felt their reason beginning to collapse.

It was as though space itself was trembling—weeping and pleading ceaselessly for rcy.

Even Dorakon, upon beholding that terrifying thing that had suddenly erupted into view, seed to pause for just a mont.

At that mont, the monstrosity that appeared as though it had crawled out of the void made its move.

The countless broken colossal eyes beneath its body all, in that very instant, locked their focus entirely upon Dorakon's form.

The terrifying Magical Insects continued their relentless gnawing upon the great dragon's body.

Swirling vortexes churned across Dorakon's body one after another—the storm alone, rely clinging to its surface, ground those scale-gnawing Magical Insects into powder.

But the very next second, those violet fragnts began to recombine with one another—reforming into individual Magical Insects that, utterly fearless of death, climbed back onto the great dragon's body once more.

The dragon's form rolled and surged—a fierce burst of wind current erupted instantly from between its scales. The black tallic surfaces clashed together, producing a heavy, reverberating echo.

The Magical Insects were jolted, blown away by the current, and slamd hard into the flesh-covered ground—twitching twice before going still.

Those ordinary Magical Creatures, no matter how powerful.

Before a Calamity, amounted to nothing more than Cannon Fodder.

The Adventurers stared at the chaotic arena—their bodies had even forgotten to tremble—eyes growing completely vacant, as though drinking in a horrifying war from front to back.

Even seated within the spectator's area, they could still feel that visceral, all-encompassing terror.

Never mind that the swarm of black insects couldn't do a thing to that monster.

If any of the 4th-Tier fighters among them were thrown into that insect tide—

In all likelihood, they would be devoured into a mass of ragged, scattered flesh in the blink of an eye.

At this level of combat, they...had absolutely no opening to intervene.

The gap...was too vast.

Both at the 4th Tier, and yet the feeling that man gave them was powerful in a way that didn't seem human at all.

If not for the fact that the 4th-Tier aura radiating from his body was unmistakably obvious, no one would ever have regarded Viktor as a 4th-Tier Mage.

4th Tier? Impossible.

At this mont, Viktor slowly raised his staff, while his other hand lifted gently.

Weija understood without a word being said—within the solitary eye, a flash of golden radiance ignited.

Swiftly, that golden light spread to completely cover every eyeball floating in the sky atop each tentacle.

And as Viktor's motion continued, the Magic Formations behind him surged upward without warning.

The iridescent radiance covering his entire body erupted outward along the staff—transmitting itself to the eyeballs suspended in the air above.

A line connected itself to his body, and followed the path of those aerial eyeballs as it transmitted forward.

A subtle sensation rose in his heart.

【Buff Sharing】

This was an ability that allowed him to share any Buff effect currently on himself with 1 allied unit.

And at this very mont, every single Buff he had stacked on himself earlier was essentially duplicated and gifted to the void creature above.

Multicolored radiance gradually spread across the entire body of that terrifying entity.

Countless attribute Buffs began surging explosively—rapidly reaching a magnitude that made one tremble.

The golden light in Weija's eyes seeped outward and was bestowed upon the body of the colossal creature.

In an instant, a trendous aura, accompanied by piercing wails of weeping, swept through the entire arena.
