Now reading: Chapter 1120: He’s in Great Health from Will the Aloof Billionaire Divorce Today?, a Romance novel by Gentle Dance.

Scarlett had just finished asking when she felt a sudden tightness at her waist. She froze for a mont, then looked up to see Matthew Saxon’s very displeased expression.

Before George could open his mouth, Matthew answered for him, "He’s perfectly fine. Even if he were sick, he’d go to the hospital on his own."

The tone was odd, with a faint sourness seeping through no matter how you listened.

If it weren’t for the fact that the person in question was George, Scarlett would have suspected Matthew was actually jealous.

George lowered his head even further. "Young Master, the car is ready."

Matthew nodded, tugged the milk-tea-colored hat on Scarlett’s head a bit lower until both ears were completely covered, then picked her up and headed out.

Once outside, the wind was quite strong.

Matthew held Scarlett tighter, pulled open one side of his coat to shield the half of her face that was exposed to the air, and strode quickly toward the silver-gray Lamborghini parked by the fountain not far away.

George walked in front, opened the car door first, and stood to the side waiting for them to get in.

After they got in, Matthew told George to turn the air conditioning up a few degrees. Even though the woman in his arms was wrapped up like a little bear, she’d still been shivering against him from the cold just now.

--

It took an hour to get from the Saxon Mansion to the Civil Affairs Bureau.

When the car stopped at the main entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, Scarlett insisted on getting out by herself. Matthew saw that she could walk on her own without any real problem, so he let her, but after she stepped down, he still pulled her into his arms, wrapped an arm around her waist, and let her half lean against him.

Once they entered the certificate hall, the large room was almost empty. Apart from the staff, the only pair there to get a marriage certificate was Scarlett and Matthew.

Today wasn’t any particularly morable date, nor was it the weekend, but it still shouldn’t have been so deserted that they were the only couple there to get registered.

Scarlett knew it was because Matthew had soone call ahead, which was why it was so quiet.

The procedure for getting the marriage certificate was very simple. Once they arrived, the staff politely led them to the waiting area, took out the registration forms—two copies—and had them each sign their own.

Matthew finished his very quickly.

He didn’t even look at the content. He took the form, flipped straight to the signature section, and with a few swift strokes, wrote down a few flamboyant characters.

His handwriting was beautiful. Every stroke looked powerful, pleasing to the eye, free-flowing, and carried that hint of unruliness in his nature.

Scarlett stole a glance and couldn’t help thinking to herself that Matthew’s handwriting could easily be made into a copybook for practice and would be more than qualified.

She’d always felt that her own handwriting wasn’t bad either, but compared to Matthew’s, the gap was obvious.

The difference was like that between beginner-level piano and advanced piano.

After Matthew finished, he pushed the application aside, turned to look at her, and asked, "Can you write?"

He felt a twinge of regret.

He shouldn’t have been in such a rush.

Her hand was still swollen, and she was clearly not in great shape today, yet he’d hurried her over to get the certificate.

In fact, he hadn’t planned on registering early at the beginning. She was going to marry him sooner or later, so why did he have to be so anxious?

But after the whole misunderstanding, and with Ian Douglas still unwilling to give up and trying to break them up, an inexplicable uneasiness had taken root in his heart.

That uneasiness pushed him to want her to truly belong to him as quickly as possible.

Once they had the marriage certificate, they would be a couple recognized by law. It felt like only in this way could he ease the restlessness and insecurity in his heart.
