After sending his spiritual sense down, Lin Fan finally hit sothing.
It was a layer of tal that was under the ground, but this layer of tal wasn't a natural ore. Rather, this layer of tal seed like it was refined tal that had been specifically made to form this layer of tal.
It seed like the roof of sothing with how wide it was and how it was structured.
After hitting this layer of tal, Lin Fan spread out his spiritual sense and he was able to confirm that there was this structure that was underground.
At the sa ti, he confird that the radiation energy that he felt was coming from this place.
Though it seed like it wasn't intentional.
When he spread his spiritual sense out, he was actually able to find the range of the radiation energy. He was able to tell just how far the radiation was actually spreading and the area of effect that it had.
That went to show that it wasn't done on purpose.
It seed that whatever was releasing that radiation energy wasn't stored properly, which was why that radiation energy was leaking in the first place.
In his past life, Lin Fan was certain that sothing like this would have caused a very large problem. Long term exposure to radiation energy was more than enough to get a normal person very sick.
So for this place to be releasing radiation energy like this without them noticing, then they surely had to have a certain level of power that they weren't affected by the radiation energy.
If they didn't have a certain level of power, then their bodies wouldn't be able to resist the damaging effects of the radiation energy. So that ant that there were so dangerous people down there.
After scanning for a bit, Lin Fan thought to himself, "They have to at least be in the Foundation Realm if they want to resist this level of radiation energy. If not, then these signs wouldn't be here."
Still, it wasn't as if the Foundation Realm was strong enough to do anything to him.
Turning back to Kennedy, Lin Fan asked, "Does your ship use any radioactive materials?"
Kennedy was taken aback since he didn't expect this question, but he slowly nodded as he said, "Yes, we have so radioactive materials in our ship. These days, most ships utilize radioactive material for fusion power. If it isn't for that, we wouldn't be able to generate enough power to lift ourselves off the ground. In fact…"
Before he could continue on with a complete lecture about what role radioactive materials had in spaceships, Lin Fan suddenly raised his hand to cut him off.
Kennedy revealed an awkward look seeing this, but Lin Fan didn't mind as he continued by asking, "Then is it possible that you picked up radioactive material underground? That's why it's been shown on your radar as sothing familiar?"
Kennedy was once again surprised to hear this.
He had to think about it at first, but then he slowly nodded in agreent before saying, "If it's radioactive material, that's possible…But even then, it wouldn't show the sa signal as our spaceship. It would just be picked up as radiation energy and nothing else."
Lin Fan gave a nod of understanding since he had expected this as well.
After thinking about it, he made up his mind.
"Go back to the ship and wait for to return."
"Where are you…" Kennedy didn't even have ti to finish his sentence as his eyes slowly popped wide open. That was because he had just watched Lin Fan disappear into the ground.
When he ca back from his daze, Kennedy walked around the area while saying, "Sect Master Lin, were are you?"
Only there was no answer since Lin Fan had already gone deep underground.
With his gravity controlling ability, he was actually able to rip the dirt apart.
With just a few particles of dirt around him releasing that gravitational power, he was able to open up a pocket of dirt for himself to slip down into. That pocket of dirt was constantly moving along with the dirt particles around him releasing the gravitational power.
So he continued falling deeper and deeper into the ground as the ground itself opened up under him.
In no ti at all, Lin Fan reached the layer of tal that he detected with his spiritual sense.
Now that he had co closer, he was able to feel the radiation energy even more closely. Now that he was right there, he could feel the effects that this radiation energy had on him.
If he hadn't been a cultivator, there was no doubt that he wouldn't have been able to resist the damaging effects of this radiation energy.
But even after reaching this layer of tal, Lin Fan didn't do anything.
He could have used his powers to break through this layer of tal, but he didn't do that as he started observing it.
The tal that was used to create this structure didn't seem that special, it seed like a very normal kind of tal in terms of its properties. The only thing that was off was that Lin Fan recognized this as not being one of the tals commonly found on the cultivation continent.
With the ti that he had spent with Veronica learning about the different kinds of tals, he was able to recognize that the tal used to create this roof wasn't from the cultivation continent.
Or at least not all of it was from the cultivation continent.
Though the easier way was definitely just to use his Appraisal Eyes on this wall.
Still, with his knowledge, he was able to figure out that this thing was an alloy that was made from tals of the cultivation continent and tals that weren't of the cultivation continent.
It was clear that whoever had built this place had connections to other continents.
Since it was a place that had even caused the radars of the ship to sense sothing familiar, this place should be connected to the technologically advanced continent.
"Were they lying to ?" Lin Fan couldn't help asking himself this before shaking this thought out of his mind.
After all, if they had been lying to him, why would they bring him to this place?
Just a simple investigation was more than enough to figure out if they were lying or not, they wouldn't be dumb enough to risk themselves like that. So they shouldn't know anything about this place.
It was either that this was a place that their higher ups didn't tell them about, or there was a deeper story here.
After this thought, Lin Fan opened up the dirt around him again.
Even though he was standing right in this place and could have easily made his way in, he chose not to break in right here.
Instead, he started moving along the roof of this base and started using his spiritual sense to see if there were any weak points of this base.
It would have been easy for Lin Fan to slam his spiritual sense right into the base and try to see what was inside, but that would create too much of a commotion. He was trying to get in without being noticed, so he needed to use a less high profile thod.
He went around for a bit before finally stopping in a place.
With a single tap, there was a small hole that was ford in the roof of the base. Near the edges of the hole, there were traces of gold that appeared.
Once this hole was created, Lin Fan released his spiritual sense.
With his control of his spiritual sense, he was able to thread it into the hole and start poking around in this area with his spiritual sense. It was just that the place that he sent his spiritual sense into didn't really have anything interesting for him.
It was a completely empty room.
Well, there was furniture and such in the room, but it just seed like so kind of office.
He really wasn't able to find much in this place since there weren't any docunts here, even though it was an office. It really seed like so kind of backup office that had been left unused.
But at the very least, that ant that this was a place that didn't have many people around.
This seed like the place that would be perfect for infiltrating.
Only Lin Fan stopped himself from creating a larger hole to drop himself into the base.
That was because Lin Fan rembered what Yue Lan had said before while revealing a bitter smile on his face.
"If I go in now, she'll be angry, right?" Lin Fan said to himself with the sa bitter smile on his face.
So in the end, he stopped himself from heading into the base like this.
Instead, he went around to a few more spots and created a few more holes that he sent his spiritual sense into.
During his scouting, he wasn't able to find a single person, but he was able to find out a few things about this place.
It was clear that this place was so kind of high tech research facility based on the things that he had sensed with his spiritual sense.
It would be good if this place was abandoned, but it didn't matter if it wasn't.
At the sa ti, by going around the entire base, he was able to find the entrance of the base.
It was a tunnel that led right up to the surface.
