Chapter 1599: Chapter 736: Yanks’ Gear Really Gets the Job Done (Part 2)

“Wolf One in position, mark the target on the beachhead!”

“Do you see the white smoke? Fifty ters to the right of the smoke, all street-side windows, hit them hard!” Canino shouted into the radio, simultaneously signaling the soldiers beside him to toss smoke grenades.

“Roger that! Target confird, rocket coverage!”

The “Viper” helicopter slightly adjusted its stance, and the rocket pods under its short wings fiercely spewed dazzling flas!

“Swoosh swoosh swoosh swoosh—!”

Dozens of 70mm rockets sward forward with a whistling noise, precisely covering the district marked by the Marine Corps!

The continuous explosions blasted the wooden buildings into pieces, flas and thick smoke soared into the sky, and the enemy’s firepower was instantly weakened by half.

“Nicely done! Wolf!” The ground forces cheered.

“Infantry! Charge!” Canino seized the opportunity, pulled out his sidearm and pointed forward, “For xico! For the Leader! Charge!”

“Charge!”

After the rocket coverage by the “Viper” ard helicopter, the pressure on the xican Marine Corps was significantly reduced.

“A platoon, B platoon, alternate cover, clear the buildings on both sides. C platoon, follow and continue to advance, don’t leave any blind spots!”

Marines ford into groups of three and began clearing the buildings room by room, with the fight moving from the open streets into narrow, dim interiors.

“Bang!”

A Marine had just kicked open a rickety wooden door when a shotgun blast greeted him head-on, the massive impact shredding his chest into a bloody ss, bones and viscera splattering his comrade behind him.

“Sanchez! Fuck!”

Another comrade, eyes red, raised his rifle, firing frantically into the shadow inside the door until the magazine was empty, inside was a short scream, followed by the sound of a heavy body hitting the ground.

He panted heavily and shouted, the warm, sticky blood and brain matter on his face made him feel nauseated, he turned to look at his fallen comrade’s corpse, crouched halfway down and grabbed the dog tags from his body, clutching them in his hand.

On the second floor of another building, a more brutal close-quarters battle was playing out.

Marine Corporal Ernesto Net Rodriguez and his partner, the 19-year-old rookie Calderon, were searching along the corridor.

Dust, smoke, and a faint scent of blood lingered in the air.

“The room on the left is clear.” Calderon’s voice trembled slightly.

“Steady, rookie, breathe.” Nate whispered, his own nerves taut, sweat soaking the hair on his forehead.

Just then, a shadow abruptly darted out from the kitchen at the end of the corridor, wearing a tattered United States National Guard combat uniform, face covered in soot and madness, wielding an M249 light machine gun!

“Watch out!”

Nate only had ti to shout this, forcefully shoving Calderon toward the adjacent wall.

“Rat-a-tat-tat-tat—!”

A storm of scorching bullets instantly swept through the narrow corridor!

Plaster and splinters from the walls flew like snowflakes.

Nate felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder and ribs, as if struck by a glowing red iron, the imnse impact tossed him to the ground.

Damn it, shot…

“Corporal!” Calderon watched in horror as Nate fell, seeing the rapidly spreading pool of blood beneath him.

The National Guard soldier had emptied a portion of his ammo belt, letting out a beast-like howl, discarding the machine gun and drawing out a gleaming M9 bayonet, lunging at the injured Nate! His eyes were hollow and crazed, muttering curses in unclear English: “Get off our land! xican bastards!”

“Fuck!”

Calderon watched his comrade fall, stared at the enemy’s nacing face, and the rookie’s fear was instantly replaced by a more primal rage. He didn’t have ti to aim the rifle, instead charging forward like a frenzied bull with his bayonetted rifle!

“Squelch!”

The two young bodies crashed violently into each other!

Calderon felt the resistance from the rifle’s front end, followed by the sensation of piercing through leather and muscle, his bayonet accurately stabbing into the opponent’s abdon.

Yet the opponent’s strength was astounding; even with his abdon pierced, the National Guard soldier didn’t imdiately fall, instead grasping Calderon’s barrel with one hand while the other, holding the M9 bayonet, viciously stabbed toward Calderon’s neck!

Calderon desperately twisted his head to dodge, the bayonet grazed his carotid artery, leaving a deep groove visible through the flesh, warm blood spurted instantly, splattering the enemy’s face.

“Argh—!” Calderon let out a painful scream, but his survival instincts made him refuse to let go, using all his strength to twist the rifle!

“Ugh…” The National Guard soldier finally let out a muffled groan, the abdominal wound being twisted, the pain causing his movents to pause.

Now’s the ti!

Calderon fiercely pulled out the bayonet, ignoring the blood gushing from his neck, and stabbed again!

This ti, he aid for the chest!

“Thud!”

The bayonet pierced through the ribs, reaching the heart.

The National Guard soldier’s body jerked violently, the crazed look in his eyes quickly vanished, replaced by disbelief, his mouth opened as if to say sothing, but only blood foam erged. His hand released the barrel powerlessly, his whole body slumped down, pressed against the injured Nate.

Nate, pinned beneath this still-warm corpse, struggled to breathe, he looked at Calderon who was kneeling with his hand desperately clutching his neck, yet blood continued to pour through his fingers, trying to speak but only managing to cough up more blood.
