Capítulo 1887: Chapter 809: My Great India Empire?

“How many people do they have?” the Pri Minister asked.

“Estimated over eight hundred thousand,” the aide replied.

“Eight hundred thousand…” the Pri Minister murmured, “Not unlike when Churchill gave his victory speech in World War II.”

He turned off the TV, not wanting to watch anymore.

On the table lay the freshly drafted statent: “The British Governnt and Scottish Representatives Reach a Historic Frawork Agreent on Future Relations.”

Key points of the agreent include: Scotland obtains the status of a “Highly Autonomous Kingdom”; possesses full autonomy except for nominal rights in defense and diplomacy; receives 85% of North Sea oil and gas revenue and thirty billion in compensation; the referendum will be held within six months, options including “Complete Independence,” “High Autonomy,” “Maintain Status Quo.”

This will be tomorrow’s headline in major newspapers. But the Pri Minister knew it wouldn’t overshadow the news of the Hyde Park rally.

One side negotiating a breakup, the other demanding rebirth. And himself, caught in the middle, like an ill-tid keeper of the grave.

The phone rang. It was Buckingham Palace.

“Your Majesty.” The Pri Minister answered.

The Queen’s voice was calm yet weary: “I saw the images of Hyde Park. I also saw the draft of the Scottish agreent.”

“Your Majesty…”

“No need to explain, Pri Minister. I just ask one question: When all this is over, what will be left of this country?”

The Pri Minister opened his mouth but couldn’t speak.

“I will adhere to constitutional requirents, signing the necessary docunts,” the Queen continued, “I will also attend the xican Olympics as advised by the governnt. But rember, the ‘dignity’ the Royal Family can provide is limited. When the dignity runs out…”

She did not finish, hanging up.

The Pri Minister set down the receiver and looked out the window. London at night was brightly lit, but what he saw was the darkness of an era slowly ending.

April 5, xico City, “Silicon Valley xico” park

Victor stood before the control panel of the newly completed Quantum Computing Laboratory. Beyond the massive glass wall, the park’s dazzling lights illuminated the scene. Inside the lab, the Feathered Serpent God One quantum computer prototype was running with a low hum, indicator lights flickering like breaths.

Bramo pointed to the data flow on the screen: “16-qubit system stable for over 72 hours, error rate below expectations. Dr. Turing’s team is already designing the 64-qubit upgrade plan. Once realized, most existing non-quantum encryption will be rendered obsolete.”

Casare grinned widely: “When that happens, the MI6 crew’s secret transmissions will be like postcards to us.”

Victor didn’t smile, just quietly watched the data flow. It was more than numbers; it was the foundation of a New World, the cipher for the transfer of power.

“The UK has accepted the Scottish agreent.”

Bramo continued to report, “Although the Hyde Park rally is massive, the ‘English Congress’ lacks a clear political path, posing no substantial threat in the short term. On the Indian front, our response strategy has launched, and the Dalit rights organization has accepted the visit invitation. The navy fleet departs for the Bay of Bengal next Monday.”

“And the Olympics preparations?”

“Ninety-seven percent of the construction is complete, all test operations passed. Volunteer training has entered the final stage. The dia center has begun welcoming early-residing reporters. The security system completed its final stress test,” Casare recited fondly, “Invitation letters have been sent to 182 countries, with 67 confirmations from heads of state or governnt leaders, including the President of France, German Chancellor, and Italian Pri Minister… The UK confird Prince Charles will attend representing the Royal Family.”

“Charles?” Victor raised an eyebrow, “He dares to go abroad?”

“Reportedly ‘his first public appearance after recovery, showcasing courage and the spirit of reconciliation,'” Casare mimicked the BBC tone, “Doctors say he’s recovered… At least enough to endure the opening ceremony.”

Victor nodded, walking to the window. Beyond the park’s lights, the contours of xico City stretched into the distance. This city that was once impoverished, chaotic, consud by drugs and corruption, was now thriving with new vigor.

He gently said, “When the torch ignites, the world will witness the contrast between two countries: one struggling to maintain dignity in twilight, the other confidently presenting its future at dawn.”

Bramo adjusted his glasses: “But India won’t concede easily. They will continue to stir at the United Nations, woo African nations, attempt to dismantle our global Southern leader image.”

Victor turned, “True leaders aren’t chosen through speeches and forums; they prove themselves through strength and achievents. When African representatives arrive in xico City and see our Silicon Valley built from nothing, see our per capita GDP twice that of India, see our city safe, clean, modern… They will vote with their feet.”

He paused: “As for the United Nations? That’s a place for argunts, not action. We don’t need to win there, just let everyone see that the guardians of the old order — UK, France, even India — are no more than squabblers.”

The satellite phone rang. Victor answered, listening for a few monts, lips curving into a smile.

“McTavish just signed the agreent frawork.” He hung up, telling the others, “The Scottish ‘Highly Autonomous Kingdom’ will be officially established through a referendum within six months. The transition governnt will be jointly ford by SNP and Scottish Freedom Army representatives. McTavish himself will serve as Chairman of the Transition Period Security Committee.”

Casare whistled: “The son of an old miner, becoming the national Supre Leader?”

“During the transition period,” Victor corrected, “but it’s already enough. A miner holding an AK-47 forcing London to bow. This story will be more powerful than any brochure.”

He returned to the control panel, fingers lightly touching the cold surface of Feathered Serpent God One.

“The Old World always believed power cos from battleships, gold, historical heritage. But they forgot, power ultimately cos from people’s hearts, from confidence in the future.”

The quantum bits on the screen entangled, superposed, representing infinite possibilities.

“And we,” Victor gazed at those flickering lights, “are creating the future.”
