Chapter 734: Chapter 535: Stone Statue Demon (Two in One)
“What, what on earth is that…”
Fana murmured to herself as she looked at the scene in the sky.
Just then, dozens, if not hundreds of monsters with double wings on their backs and limbs like humans suddenly erged from the purple speck in the sky.
Each one was almost as big as an adult rhinoceros, and though they were still so distance from the ground, their overwhelming presence was undiminished.
Fana saw this through her binoculars and imdiately felt her soul shiver with terror.
She knew she hadn’t been mistaken earlier; hidden within that shadow were truly terrifying monsters.
And now those creatures had clearly broken through their constraints and were spreading out from the purple spot.
“Ah!”
Fana cried out, not caring about her unhealed legs, and scrambled down the stairs, shouting to her parents:
“Dad! Mom! Run! Get to the basent! The monsters are coming!”
By the ti she had finished speaking, she had reached the ground floor and saw to her dismay that her parents were still busy packing up, oblivious to the events outside.
At this point, Fana couldn’t care less about any luggage; she didn’t even have ti to explain.
Seeing her parents frozen in place after hearing her, she didn’t bother to explain any further and imdiately dragged them by the arms into the basent.
Normally, how could Fana, a girl accustod to a life of luxury, have the strength to match her parents who had toiled on the farm year-round?
It was only because they saw their daughter in such an almost crazed state that they were worried and didn’t resist at all.
“Little Fana, what’s wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell…?”
As soon as they entered the basent, the mother couldn’t help but ask about her daughter’s state, fearing sothing was wrong.
Her words had barely fallen when, before Fana could answer, everyone heard a heavy “thud” from above, as if sothing large had fallen into the house.
“What was that noise? What’s happening upstairs?”
The mother was also startled.
However, she didn’t know the situation above; she just heard the noise and was curious, wanting to go upstairs to check.
Seeing this, Fana was so scared that her hair stood on end, and she imdiately blocked the door, refusing to let her mother go out.
Seeing this, the mother’s face was full of worry.
She opened her mouth to say sothing, but then she heard a “hehehehe” from above, imdiately causing her to swallow her words.
That sound was terrifying, resembling that from the throat of so large animal, with a dull oppressive force.
The mother wasn’t foolish and, connecting it with the monsters Fana had been talking about, her expression also reflected panic.
“Shh!”
The father quickly gestured to her to be quiet.
Then he cautiously walked to the small fence at the top of the basent and peered through the gap into the sky outside.
All he could see was a purple speck silently suspended in the sky.
Countless gray-skinned monsters were pouring out of it, one after another, and then, with a flap of their wings, they headed straight for the town below.
Old Pelan saw from not far away, on a small house next to several families, a monster descended from the sky, diving headfirst into it.
The speed of its dive was so fast that it didn’t even have ti to slow down, crashing straight through the roof of the house with a “crash,” plowing through to the ground.
“That’s, William’s house, they…”
Old Pelan’s face had just registered shock when a series of screams suddenly ca from outside.
“Ahh! Ahh!! Help! Ahhh!!!”
Hearing the harrowing cries, the three people in the basent couldn’t help but shiver all over.
By now, even the most foolish knew sothing terrible had happened outside.
The army hadn’t evacuated them for so absurd reason like an earthquake; it was because of these monsters.
“Boom boom boom!”
“Dadadadadada!”
At that mont, a series of gunfire erupted outside, obviously the military engaging with the monsters.
“Ssshh—”
The sound of brakes screeched.
In their field of view, a military transport vehicle wobbled as it approached, and then suddenly flipped onto its side, skidding a long distance.
Four or five soldiers wearing military uniforms popped their heads out, and so residents who had been following the evacuation were among them; they all started climbing out of the smoky vehicle.
Seeing this, Old Pelan was about to shout to guide them towards him when the next second, a horrific scene unfolded.
The two gray monsters lurking nearby erged, one flying straight towards the people who had run out, while the other landed on the overturned transport vehicle.
“Fire! Fire! Fire!”
A warrior shouted.
The gunfire sounded at close range, painfully ringing in the ears of the three people in the basent.
However, such an attack seed completely ineffective against the monsters.
The bullets that hit them only left behind white marks.
Even hand grenades could only blast so fragnts off of them, doing no harm to their bodies.
The next second, screams filled the air.
This ti, the three in the basent saw everything clearly.
The monster, despite the barrage of gunfire from several warriors, leaped forward and bit off the head of one of them with a single bite.
