"Ah!"

In the basent, two suppressed screams rang out as Fana and her mother covered their mouths, their eyes filled with horror.

Fortunately, the sound of gunfire nearby was loud, so their startled cries were not too noticeable.

Outside, the battle continued.

The monster grabbed another soldier who was firing his gun relentlessly. At nearly three ters tall, it looked like a small giant before these humans.

With a yank of its two thick arms, the man in its hands was imdiately torn in half, without even a chance to scream.

It was the sa by the nearby transport vehicles.

Another monster was squatting on top of a vehicle, effortlessly ripping a hole in the body of the car, and then reaching in to rummage around, quickly pulling out a person.

"Ah!!!"

Outside, screams and gunfire rged into one.

However, soon, the gunfire in the vicinity ceased, leaving only piercing cries of anguish.

Inside the basent, the three of them hunkered down in a corner, not daring to look at the scene outside or make the slightest sound.

Fana and her daughter still covered their mouths, tears streaming down their cheeks, but they dared not cry out, as if any sound might alert the monsters outside.

Ti passed slowly in this suffocating atmosphere.

It was unclear how much ti had elapsed when suddenly a ringtone from a cellphone echoed in the basent as the noise outside had gradually disappeared.

Old Pelan and his wife imdiately looked at their daughter, who was also full of panic, hastily pulling out her phone to hang up and turn it off.

After completing these actions, Fana looked around with lingering fear.

But as her gaze swept over the small bars on top of the basent, she couldn’t help but shudder, and her cellphone fell to the ground.

Old Pelan clearly noticed his daughter’s abnormal reaction and followed her line of sight, imdiately feeling as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over him, leaving him cold from head to toe.

Outside the small bars, a sinister-looking head was pressed against it, a blood-red eye staring intently at the three people inside the basent.

Then, accompanied by screams, ca the sound of the monster furiously tugging at the iron bars.

The monster’s strength was imnse, and in just a few breaths, the iron bars on top of the basent were pulled down.

Fortunately, the opening was very small, just less than two centiters wide, like a vent.

Given the size of the monster, it couldn’t get in unless it tore up the entire ground.

After reaching an arm inside and grasping around a few tis, the creature could only withdraw its hand.

Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, thinking they were montarily safe, the monster outside suddenly brought its head close again.

In the dim basent, a blood-red eye at the window fixedly stared at the people inside.

Fana, frightened, subconsciously shrank behind her father.

But the next second, Old Pelan suddenly stood up and walked slowly towards the small window.

"Dad! What are you doing! Co back!"

Seeing this, mother and daughter couldn’t help but exclaim.

Yet Old Pelan acted as if he hadn’t heard at all, continuing to walk towards it as if possessed.

This ti, Fana no longer cared about her fear and hurriedly chased after him to pull him back.

However, her efforts were futile.

Old Pelan was very strong, his stride steady and firm, and Fana was dragged along as she walked behind him.

The mother, too, joined the tug of war, but even together, they could not stop Old Pelan’s actions.

In the end, the contest ended with the failure of Fana and her mother as Old Pelan reached the small window.

Seeing this, the monster outside reached its arms in, claws sinking deep into Old Pelan’s shoulders, and then pulled him out through the small window, his body distorted by the squeeze.

In the basent, Fana collapsed to the ground, watching her father’s disfigured body, the shock and grief in her eyes almost enough to make her faint.

Her mother was the sa, though slightly stronger than Fana, she didn’t completely lose her mind.

The mother, crying, pulled the sowhat dazed Fana back into the corner and turned away with her, trying their best not to look at the scene outside.

It had to be said that such an act, just so happened to save their lives.

Old Pelan had walked towards his death just because he was manipulated by that Stone Statue Demon.

And now, by avoiding eye contact with the creature, the mother and daughter successfully escaped disaster.

Thus, huddled together in the basent, covering their ears, they were like ostriches, daring neither to listen nor to move, hoping that this nightmare would end soon.

At that mont, the battle outside continued.

The number of Stone Statue Demons that erged from the Dinsion Rift far exceeded what the Hurricane Bureau had initially estimated.

As of now, at least more than 200 monsters had flown out, and judging by the relentless activity in the sky, their numbers were still unknown.

Outside the town, rows of warriors had surrounded the area, and more than twenty tanks were continuously firing into the air.

"Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Two sounds of tearing through the air were heard as a fighter jet roared overhead, with two missiles leaving long trails heading towards the Dinsion Rift.

"Boom!"

An explosion of fire burst in front of the Dinsion Rift as a missile hit one of the Stone Statue Demons.

The other missile grazed the body of the target and flew straight into the purple patch, disappearing without a trace.

"Everyone, fire! Suppress them with firepower! Helicopter squad, move up quickly, don’t conserve ammunition! Form an unbroken network of firepower, we can’t let these monsters escape!"

In the temporary command post on the outskirts, Commander Feodor of the Fourth Marine Corps was issuing orders.

A warrior ran over, reporting:

"Commander! The tank platoon reports that they are running low on ammunition! Requesting resupply!"

Upon hearing this, Feodor slamd the table hard and roared:

"Damn it! What’s with our tanks! Why only so few!? Where are the reinforcents!? Why haven’t they arrived yet! I’m going to charge them with delaying military operations!"

The warrior hesitated for a mont before carefully saying:

"Commander, the nearest reinforcents from the Fourth Marine Corps, apart from us, are more than a hundred kiloters away. It might take so ti for them to arrive..."

"Bang!"

Feodor slamd the table again, glaring fiercely at his subordinate, and yelled:

"Damn it! Do you think I don’t know that!? I want to wait for them! But now go ask those monsters if they’re willing to wait! We can’t see even a shadow of the reinforcents, and if the tanks are slow, can’t the helicopters co quicker!? Go hurry them up!"

The young warrior wiped the sweat from his forehead and responded repeatedly.

At that mont, another warrior ca running over, excitedly saying:

"Your Excellency Commander, we have reinforcents coming! They are expected to arrive in two minutes!"

Feodor turned sharply, his gaze fixed on him, and quickly asked:

"Reinforcents are coming!? Who is it? Aus that kid? Or Antonia and the others?"

The warrior shook his head.

"It’s people from the Hurricane Bureau, they are coming on a special flight from Button."

"People from the Hurricane Bureau? Button?"

Feodor was startled at first, then anger appeared on his face again.

"The people from Button are already here, yet our Fourth Corps haven’t arrived yet; are they crawling here!?"

Seeing him speak like this, the warrior did not know how to respond, so he stamred:

"Well, Commander, as you know, they mostly have tanks over there, so of course, they’d be a bit slow..."

Feodor waved his hand dismissively.

"Enough, I don’t want to hear that. Just tell , how many reinforcents are we getting from the Hurricane Bureau?"
