The Old Greg was suddenly unhappy, "You haven’t co to visit for such a long ti, and now you are rushing to leave. You are a bad girl, and you don’t care about ."
Edie quickly tried to persuade Old Greg, "Grandpa, how could I not care about you? You know how much I love you, but you also know my relationship with the family. You know how much they like to embarrass . I only ca today because it was your birthday. Don’t be angry with . When I have finished filming, I will co and visit you."
It took a lot of persuading, and grandpa reluctantly agreed. She gave her grandpa a kiss and said goodbye, "I will see you soon; I love you." Edie and Stuart started to leave, and just as they entered the hallway, they t several people.
It was Mrs. Greg and Victoria, and they were talking to so guests that ca to visit Old Greg. Mrs. Greg wore a luxurious dark purple coat. On her head was a pearl hairpin. She was wearing all kinds of jewelry and looked extrely luxurious.
Mrs. Greg was smiling at the guests, but when she turned towards Edie, her smile imdiately disappeared. Victoria complained to the guests about Edie and said, "You also ca to see Old Greg."
Edie smiled faintly with a nod, "Yes, we are just getting ready to leave." Victoria saw Stuart standing by Edie’s side, and she looked at him with envy in her eyes. She hated Edie and could not understand what he ever saw in her. She couldn’t help herself and said, "Why did you co back? You are not part of our family, and you have no right to be here."
The guests were shocked at what Victoria said; they knew Edie and couldn’t understand why Victoria would say such a thing. She was here only to wish her grandfather a happy birthday. They also knew how arrogant Victoria could be.
Victoria was trying to be on her best behavior and didn’t even realize what she said, but every ti she saw Edie, it stirred up so many emotions in her. Mrs. Greg quickly sighed, "Victoria, what are you saying? Everyone is welco here."
It was too late, when the guests heard what Victoria said their faces grew cold, "Mrs. Greg, it seems as though Miss Greg doesn’t want us in your ho." The people that ca to visit were celebrities from the city, and Mrs. Greg did not want to offend them.
She was so upset with her daughter for saying such a thing in the presence of her guests that she wanted her to leave, "Victoria, could you go and get Edie for ?" Victoria knew right away that she had upset the guests, so as it was very unusual for her not to talk back to her mother, she imdiately said, "Yes, I will go get her. I hope she hasn’t left yet."
Victoria was so mad at her mother that she wanted to scream at her, but she bit her tongue because she didn’t want the guests to think that she was uncultivated. She then turned around to find Edie. Victoria t Edie at the door, and Stuart was in the car waiting for her. Victoria looked at Stuart and thought he was such a handso man.
She couldn’t help herself, and she had to ask, "How did you hook up with him? Didn’t you have a five-year relationship with Donald Lynch? It wasn’t that long ago that you wanted to die and suddenly you are married. It doesn’t make any sense to ."
Hook up? Edie glared at Victoria, and she never had anything nice to say. "I am not you, and I did not hook up with anyone."
Victoria wanted to say sothing to her, but she looked at Stuart, and he gave her a death stare. She rembered the last ti they spoke and how frightened she was; she knew that he ant what he said.
She stiffened and avoided his gaze. Then she swallowed to remove the lump in her throat. "Who is he? Why did you introduce him to my father and mother? I don’t understand why you haven’t told anyone? Is there sothing wrong with your marriage?"
After saying these few words, Stuart drove his car up to the house. The sound of the engine caught Victoria’s attention. Such a handso man was driving a limited number of shining sports cars in the world. Her eyes revealed an infinite yearning, and she wanted Stuart for herself.
He lowered the window, and she could see his handso face. He ca from a noble family and had a mysterious temperant. Just one look at him, and her heart began to beat rapidly, and she could not help but hold her heart.
Edie said, "What is his identity? Is there anything that you can’t see? I don’t need to tell you or your parents because this is my husband, and it has nothing to do with you."
After Edie finished her words, she felt that the suffocation in her heart was now loosened and unpretentious. Everything was out in the open, and she had no need to hide from them anymore. She didn’t even look at Victoria’s expression on her face, and she went straight to the car.
Victoria stood in the window and waited for them to leave. She didn’t answer her, didn’t seem to hear her, and she seed to be in so kind of trance. As though waking up from a dream, she angrily kicked the wall. She hit it so hard that her feet began to hurt and lowered her head, screaming, "It hurts..."
"Vitoria, why are you screaming? What did you do?" Mrs. Greg was angry, she sent her to get Edie, and now she was screaming out in pain. She stood there with her hands on her hips, glaring at her.
"Mom, my feet..." Victoria saw her mother and wanted so kind of reaction from her. She didn’t think that her mother would still be upset with her. Mrs. Greg didn’t believe that she actually hurt herself, "You just said in front of our guests that you were going to get Edie. Was that a lie? Where is she?"
She never expected her mother to reprimand her. She was a little annoyed, "You’re scolding , why don’t you scold Edie. She is a shaless one. She got married without saying anything, and then she brought him to Grandpa’s birthday party."
"Got married? That man she was with her husband?" Mrs. Greg was confused, she never expected Edie to be married. "Yes, see, you didn’t even know either." Mrs. Greg quickly adjusted her expression and restored to her graceful and elegant deanor.
She said coldly, "Does it have sothing to do with ? Is that why she got married? She was always a wild species, and maybe we shouldn’t tell anyone? Even if she wanted to tell I wouldn’t have taken the ti to listen."
She looked up and saw the expression of Victoria’s disapproval. Mrs. Greg hated Edie and said, "You spend less ti worrying about Edie and what she is doing. Don’t ss around with her. Don’t forget that you have a marriage contract with the Yates family. If you ss this up, your father and I will never forgive you."
The Yates family. Again, it is the Yates family. Victoria hated the thought of an arranged marriage, especially when she saw Edie’s husband. He was so extraordinary, how can she be willing to marry a night heir that she had never seen before?
But she didn’t want to talk about it, she lowered her head and said, "Yes, Mom, I know. You and Dad keep reminding ." It was as though her life flashed before her eyes. So far, she has had nothing but horrible experiences, and Edie could not have a good one.
