Eddie was not familiar with the na Hicks, and she vaguely rembered that she played a supporting role in so small production. After all, in showbiz, beauty was the most indispensable. If you could not climb to the top, few people would rember you.
All infamous actors and actresses should help each other, Eddie thought, "Be careful, everyone pushes and shoves in auditions. I don’t want you to get hurt."
"Thank you." Hicks nodded and smiled gratefully at her. Hicks laughed; she was as sweet as a spring breeze sudden and peaceful. Eddie could not help but sigh in her heart that she was indeed a beauty.
Gould walked through the crowd carrying two glasses of water. One of them was for him, and the other was for Eddie. When he looked over towards Eddie, he noticed that she was talking to another woman.
He was a bit surprised, but his mind was quick, and he quickly passed the other glass of water over to Hicks. Hicks had always been an unknown actress. She wasn’t accustod to being treated like this in the entertainnt world. She was a little surprised by Gould’s actions and said, "Thank you."
Feeling sowhat flattered, she turned her head to look at Eddie. Eddie smiled, "This is my assistant, Miss Gould."
Hicks unintentionally stared at Gould and looked very surprised, "He’s a girl?"
Gould blushed and quickly explained, "No, no, I’m a man!"
Eddie laughed at the two of them and thought that Hicks’s had a lovely and naive look about her. Seeing that Eddie was laughing, Hicks also started to laugh to hide her embarrassnt. Soone was hiding in the corner and did not like the atmosphere that was now surrounding Hick’s.
"Hicks, where did you get the water?"
A commanding voice ca from behind Hicks. Hicks shook and turned her head. Eddie also turned around to look; they’re standing in front of them and there was a beautiful woman with long hair and high heels. Hicks and this woman were in stark contrast to one another.
Eddie knew this woman, and she was Annie. She had been on a couple of hit shows, and now she was a little famous. Annie quickly glanced at them, but she didn’t think that they were worthy of her attention.
She beca more aggressive, "Hey, Hicks, I am talking to you! Are you listening to ?"
Then Eddie’s eyes darkened with a frown at her irreverence. There was no reason for this woman to be upset with Hicks or even look at them in that kind of manner. The smile faded from Hick’s lips, and her face grew pale, "Miss Gould gave it to ."
Annie looked at Gould with resentnt in her eyes. She started to make fun of him, "He’s a Gay man, and you call him Miss. That is just too funny."
Eddie could not stand to see this woman ridicule, Gould. She looked at Annie with a scowl on her face and said, "That is very disrespectful. Please don’t say that again."
"Who do you think you are? How dare you talk to . You speak when you are spoken to by the young lady."
Annie turned to Hicks and said, "Hicks, would you get a glass of water?"
Annie arrived early, and she had been waiting for two hours. She didn’t bring an assistant with her today. She thought of herself as a big star, how could she personally get water. It just so happened that Hicks was the coward who could be on her beck and call for today.
Hicks flinched when she spoke to her and handed the glass to Annie, "I haven’t drunk from it yet. You can have it if you want it?"
"Of course, I want it. You know better than that," Annie took the glass and walked away with her nose stuck up in the air. When Annie left, Eddie can’t help but ask Hicks, "She’s obviously bullying you. Why are you so patient with her?"
"I can’t help it," Hicks said as she was shaking her head, "Annie and I are from the sa company, she’s more famous than . She has a better relationship with the leader, and I’ve offended her a little bit before. I’m afraid it’s going to get worse if I don’t bite the bullet."
Though she did not spend much ti with Hicks, Eddie thought that she was very gentle and too kind-hearted of a person. Showbiz had always been a place with high values and low values, and as an actress, one had to be careful in who they did and didn’t talk to.
After all, they weren’t from the sa company, and they only just t, so Eddie decided to provide her with a bit of her own experience, "Sotis in this world, the more you tolerate others, the less you’re going to be taken seriously."
"I know what you an, but I fought alone in showbiz. I don’t have the guts to fight with them."
Hicks gave a wry smile and looked at Eddie with so envy, "You’re different. I am not as lucky as you."
"Lucky?" Eddie smiled. What she had gone through was inhumane. Only she knew it.
"Your agent has asked you to take part in the audition, so you must be critical. Look, there are a lot of famous actresses on the front line."
"My agent did not have many resources on hand. Dior’s audition was given to because no one wanted to co."
They all felt that such a prominent spokesperson must have been decided long ago and that I was wasting my ti. Eddie wondered why Hicks didn’t have a high status in the company and had access to useful resources. Hicks lowered her voice and whispered, "My company mainly promotes Annie. She has even t the manager of Dior. It is almost certain that she will be getting the spot for this audition."
Eddie raised her head and said, "Hicks, do we dare to walk backstage of such a big international brand?"
"All of our company’s best resources were given to her first," Hicks replied in a low voice. The people in the hallway slowly started to move, and one by one, they walked into the room where the audition was held. Then when it was over, and they ca out, they were either looking happy or sad.
At that mont, Eddie suddenly heard a noise at the front of the line. Looking over her shoulder, she saw Annie sitting on the floor, clutching her stomach, saying, "My stomach hurts."
