You Are Mine (English) Chapter 423: I’m Worried That You Might Starve

Ti passed by quickly; when Stuart ca back, it was already a little over one o’clock at night.

He pushed the door open and entered, noticing his butler was still waiting for him at the entrance hall, he winced slightly, "Why are you still up?"

Stuart winced hard and scolded himself inside, he worked for the whole day and forgot to give Edie a call! He quickly took off his suit and rushed to the living room. Edie was crouching on the sofa like an insecure kitten.

The butler softly whispered to Stuart without disturbing Edie, "I’ve already told Mrs. Yates that you had a very important matter to deal with today. I told her that you had notified with your office phone that your mobile phone was out of battery. Mrs. Yates believed it as well..."

Although the butler really wanted to know where Stuart went, since it was Master’s privacy, he had no right to ask. He said no more, turned around and left the space for the two of them.

Stuart stood by the sofa and gazed at Edie in her sleep. She looked peaceful, Stuart would hold her to sleep every night, and by the ti they wake up the next morning, Edie would still keep her position from last night.

Even with no lipsticks on, they were already so pink and kissable.

The feeling of having soone waiting for you at ho was really good. He fondled her face irresistibly, even though he had only not seen her for half a day, he missed her so much. He thought Edie must have given him so sort of potion, because if not so, why would he get so addicted to her?

He was too busy today, plus his phone was indeed out of battery, he had no ti for anything else. He thought Edie would go to bed first, but unexpectedly, she waited until now. He just couldn’t tell her everything right now. His heart was filled with guilt.

Maybe his fondle was a little too forceful, Edie felt his touch and opened her eyes in a daze. A familiar figure stood in front of her, she quickly rubbed her eyes and said in a husky voice, "You’re back?"

"I’m back, why did you wait for till so late?" Stuart winced hard and said worriedly.

Edie curved her mouth and revealed a bright smile, "I’m fine, I slept for a bit on the sofa too. You must be very tired from your work, it’s already one o’clock midnight, you must be hungry. I cooked porridge for you, it’s still in the pot, I’ll get it for you."

She quickly jumped off the sofa and walked towards the kitchen. Before Stuart could stop her, Edie had already left. After a long while, Edie still hadn’t co back, so Stuart walked into the kitchen in confusion. When he walked in, he saw that Edie was looking at the pot with a bowl in her hand, frozen.

"What’s wrong?" He asked without any notice. Being scared by Stuart, Edie’s body shook vigorously, and the bowl fell as she let loose of her grip, it shattered into pieces on the floor after a crisp sound.

Edie quickly squats down to pick up the pieces, and because she was all flustered, her finger got cut by one of the sharp broken pieces on the ground. She gasped and put her finger inside her mouth. Seeing that her finger got cut, Stuart hastened his footsteps, rushed in front of her, and checked her wound. There was a small cut on her index finger, and it was bleeding.

"Don’t put the cut in your mouth when you’re injured, and there would be bacteria. You should wash it first and then sterilize it..."

While he explained the procedure, Edie made no sound. Stuart raised his head, discovering that Edie was crying. Her bright eyes were brimd with tears, droplets of tears coursed down her cheek and fell on his hand; they were hot. Stuart flustered at once, he imdiately started wiping her tears away, but they just kept on rolling down.

"Sorry, I shouldn’t have said that I shouldn’t have co ho late, I promise it will never happen again, okay?" Stuart said worriedly.

But, Edie shook her head fiercely.

Stuart beca really worried, "What happened, did soone bully you?"

"Stuart... am I really useless?" Edie said biting her lips, the words she said was heartbreaking, which made Stuart want to embrace her into his arms. Actually, Stuart was already doing it. He embraced Edie into his arms and fondled her hair. He noticed that Edie’s hair had grown longer, it was originally at shoulder length, and now it had gone past her shoulder. How could he be so careless and didn’t realize it?

"Why are you saying this all of a sudden?"

"I don’t know how to cook, and I can only make so simple food. I made a porridge tonight but overcooked it, and it’s now dried up. I smashed the bowl and even cut myself while cleaning up, am I... really useless?" Edie said sobbing, every word made Stuart’s heartbreak. Stuart didn’t expect that she would be so upset for such minor things, his heart ached even more.

"Stuart... am I a loser, would you get sick of in one day?" Edie said, crying.

"Of course not! Even if you don’t know how to do anything, I still love you. I like it when you rely on . Besides, you did things for , and you make eat and co ho on ti every day, it’s sothing that I have never achieved by myself because I worried."

"What... did you worry about it?"

"I’m worried that you might starve to death," Stuart teased her.
