Ivan sent Edie to the nearest hospital imdiately. Seeing lots of blood oozing out of Edie’s body, all nurses were shocked. They quickly got her into the ergency ward, leaving Ivan waiting at the door anxiously.
Ivan was praying to all gods, from the Buddha from the eastern to Jesus from the western, to bless Edie.
Edie might be pregnant. She’s perceived the CEO’s baby. If he failed to protect them, he should be condemned to death. He knew that his boss wouldn’t let him go easily.
Please, please save them. He prayed silently.
After about ten minutes or a son, the doctor got out, with a pair of gloves covered with blood.
"Doctor, how’s her condition?" He asked imdiately when he saw the Doctor approaching him.
"What kind of father are you? Your wife’s pregnant for just four weeks. She and the baby are so weak at this point. She might lose the baby at any mont at this point. "
"Lose the baby...."
These three words, like the thunder, exploding in his brain. His face turned pale imdiately.
Mr. Bates asked him to protect Edie here because he trusted him. If the president knew Edie lost the baby, he would kill Ivan. Ivan didn’t dare to imagine the picture.
Suddenly, Ivan keeled down in front of the doctor, "Please, save her. If the baby dies, I will die."
"Why have you waited for so long without doing anything for your wife? Be easy. They are out of danger now." the doctor finally tendered the voice when he saw the anxiety on Ivan’s face. Ivan didn’t look like an irresponsible guy.
"Really?!!" Ivan was thrilled with joy.
"Yes. They are fine. But the mother is so weak. If this happens again, she might really lose the baby. She looked really nervous in a coma. This is really bad for pregnant won. As her husband, you are supposed to pay more attention to your wife. Otherwise, you would lose the baby sooner or later."
"I know. Thank you very much, doctor."
Ivan gave the doctor a big hug excitedly and rushed into the ward.
The doctor was shocked for a mont and then smiled. He thought Ivan might be a new father.
When Edie woke up, the day was breaking.
The first thing she wanted to do was to go back to Greg’s house. But Ivan stopped her tily.
"Be careful. The doctor said you should take better care of your body now. You are quite weak now." Ivan said gently as if he was the father.
"I am okay. Just a stomach ache. Take it easy. I’ll be okay in minutes. I should leave now."
"No. It’s not stomach ache,"
Ivan said impotently.
He didn’t expect Edie didn’t even know she’s pregnant.
He stared at Edie’s eyes seriously and told her word by word, "you are pregnant."
"All right, so..."Edie wanted to expound Ivan. But imdiately she heard the words.
"Pregnant?" Edie looked at Ivan in great astonishnt. When seeing Ivan nodding, she pointed at her nose, "Is it mine?"
"Yes, it’s yours. You’ve perceived the president’s baby."
Stuart’s baby...She is pregnant with their child.
She’s perceived Stuart’s baby. Hearing this news on such a grief day, Edie didn’t know how to feel.
When Stuart wanted a baby, she refused because she still wanted to fight for her career. When Edie wanted a baby, Stuart refused because he didn’t want her to take more pressure or pain.
They were still quite young when getting married. They still had lots of ti to have a baby. They don’t have to rush.
So Edie just let nature take the course.
But she didn’t expect to hear the news in such a situation.
She rubbed her belly. It was quite flat. It was really magic that it perceived a little baby.
The baby ca into her world when her grandpa left. Was this the continuation of life?
Edie suddenly felt relieved. She’s depressed for all these days.
"Have you told Stuart?" She asked imdiately.
"No. CEO was still in a coma. Besides, you should tell him in person, sharing the joy of being a new parents. I’m sure he will be happy when you tell him the good news when he’s awake,"
"You are right. Don’t tell him. I want to tell him myself."
As Edie was imrsed in the joy of pregnancy, she didn’t know great changes that happened in England.
Filled with Excitent, Edie called Stuart. Unexpectedly, soone hung up the phone.
What happened?
Who did this?
This never happened before.
She went blank for a while, staring at the mobile phone.
Seeing this, Ivan asked, "What’s up?"
"Nothing. He might be busy now. I could call Mr. Bates."
She smiled and called. Mr. Bates answered the phone quickly.
"Mrs. Yates," he sounded heavy. Edie had a bad feeling.
Was it Stuart?
"Mr. Bates, what happened? I call Stuart, but he cut it off. Have he woken up?"
The doctor told Edie Stuart’s condition. He would wake up soon. It was a slight cerebral concussion.
He was supposed to wake up today if the doctor told her the truth.
What happened then?
"Yes, the doctor said he might wake up a little bit later. Have you called him? He left the mobile phone in the flat. It might be the servant. Don’t worry. I would handle everything here. I would inform you if there’s anything."
Edie felt relieved when hearing these words. She didn’t ntion a word of her pregnancy.
She wanted to tell Stuart in person, to share the joy with him.
After hanging up the phone, Edie asked the doctor about the baby. She didn’t notice Ivan’s face changed.
Ivan took a glimpse at Edie. She didn’t notice him. Then he walked out of the door and read the ssage on the phone, from Mr. Bates.
"Sothing happened to the CEO. Call ASAP."
Mr. Bates was a serious and calm man. He was never fussed. Sothing must happen.
Ivan called back without any hesitation.
"Ivan, what I said now must be kept from Mrs. Yates...."
