After getting all the information about the baby from the doctor, Edie bought so dicine and several manuals for pregnant won, getting ready to leave the hospital. But, she didn’t see Ivan standing aside.
She walked out of the door. At the entrance of the stairs, she heard his voice.
"Okay. I wouldn’t tell her." Ivan answered to soone who called him. Edie was a bit confused about who Ivan had talked to.
She heard several words.
"Ivan, are you there?" She asked, heading towards him.
As she was about to push the door out, Ivan opened the door before her. Edie was shocked a little bit.
"Ivan, what are you doing here?" She asked him quickly.
"It’s Hawk. I am handling it. Don’t want to bother you." Ivan smiled and answered.
Hearing "Hawk," Edie imdiately forgot what she wanted to say just now.
"What happened now? Is there sothing wrong?"
Ivan shook his head and said, "Most of our n have been withdrawn. It has been stabilized. Don’t worry about this. Take care of yourself and the baby. It’s too late. Allow to take you to the hotel."
Edie didn’t refuse this ti. She was pushed by Mrs. Greg and fell on the ground. If this happened again, she might lose the baby. She let anybody harm them, mostly at her current condition. She needs to be safe. She is still looking forward to the mont she will tell her husband they will soon be parents.
If her grandpa was still alive, he also wanted her to protect her baby. It was his great-grandson. He’s always been looking forward to the birth of this baby. Now the dream ca true.
Pitifully, he passed away without knowing that she conceived the baby of her and Stuart.
"Grandpa, I miss you so much. How I wish you are still alive so I could share with you the great news. Stuart and I will be parents soon," She thought in silence, and tears slowly welled up at the corner of her eyes. She gently wipes her tears and calms herself down.
After arriving at the hotel, Edie finally relaxed. She felt exhausted.
She sat down on the sofa, rubbing the bell. She didn’t feel anything before being told the news. Now she could feel the baby.
A baby is forming insides her. It’s her and Stuart flesh and blood. Thinking about her husband and his late grandfather, she can’t help to feel sad.
She smiled with tears in her eyes.
"Grandpa would be thrilled with joy if he knew the existence of you. He wanted to give you a na. But...."
As the past ca into her mind, she couldn’t help herself sobbing.
When Ivan brought breakfast for her, she was in sorrow.
"I am so sorry for your loss, Mrs. Yates. But you are not alone now. You have a baby now."
"I am fine. I would protect the baby, "She said with determination.
Suddenly, sothing ca into her mind.
"Ivan, could you do a favor. Bring my grandpa’s purple pot from Greg’s house."
"Okay, I would handle this. Take care of yourself and the baby. You are still weak. The baby’s condition is still unstable. Rest as much as possible. The doctor would examine your condition every day."
Edie’s suffered a lot. She’s really fragile now.
She had to control her emotions and have a good rest.
She nodded, "I know. But I have to attend my grandpa’s funeral."
"I would protect you."
Edie took a deep breath and suppressed her sadness, starting having breakfast.
Even though the breakfast tasted awful and she was not in the mood, she had to eat breakfast for the baby.
After having breakfast, she felt really asleep. Soon, she fell into sleep. Her hand kept touching her belly.
Seeing this, Ivan frowned. He started worrying Edie.
He tackled the quilt for her.
He should tell her what happened before her condition stabilized.
Otherwise, the consequence would be terrible.
Edie was so pitiful. Why did that happen?
He wished Mr. Bates could handle everything. Otherwise, he didn’t know how to tell her the news.
The next morning, Edie was woken up by a call.
"Edie, are you all right? I read the news about your grandpa. Are you all right? Do you want to co?"
As usual, she asked lots of questions.
It was Scarlet Yvette.
It has been a long ti since she called her last ti. Hearing her voice full of care, Edie felt warm and angry.
"Scarlet, where the hell have you been? Why didn’t you call for such a long ti? You didn’t even co when I told you about my wedding. I thought you’d forgotten ."
"I, I want. But I am afraid of..."
Edie got confused, "What?"
"Jason."
Edie froze for a while, "Jason. What happened between you?"
"Long story. The signal here is bad. I couldn’t tell you all now."
"Where are you now?"
"Travel. Bali Island"
Edie didn’t believe what she heard just now. Scarlet was a an girl. Because of her family, she believed nothing but money. So she kept all the money without wasting even a coin.
"Why? How? "Edie soon realized sothing was wrong "What happened?"
Scarlet fell into silence. It looked difficult for her to say out. Edie didn’t push her.
After quite a while, Scarlet said, "Jason proposed to ."
Edie widened her eyes, "Isn’t this good news."
She was really happy for her. She thought her relationship with Jason was terrible. Jason was nothing more than a playboy. Their relationship would go anywhere. Edie didn’t want him to break Scarlet’s heart.
She never expected that Jason would propose to Scarlet.
"No," Scarlet sounded calm. Apparently, she’s thought it through.
"We are different. It’s impossible for to marry him. His family would accept . "
Edie got worried, "No. Apart from family, there’s more in a relationship. For example, I and Stuart..."
"Different," Scarlet interrupted Edie, "We are not in a relationship. We just had sex. I don’t need him to take any responsibility. That’s awful."
