What was this girl doing running off to the kitchen and even injuring herself like this?! How could the kitchen staff let her handle knives?!
When Gu Shaocheng didn’t get angry, all was peaceful, but when he did, his punishnt was extrely severe.
"Each person in the small kitchen will be fined five thousand and all will be dismissed," Gu Shaocheng said with no emotion while passing Aunt Zhang.
"Y-Young... Young Master, sorry, I... I’m sorry..."
All at once, everyone in the small kitchen turned pale.
Chenxing heard everything and knew that she had caused disaster, putting others in trouble. Unable to bear it, she quickly pleaded for Aunt Zhang, "It’s...it’s not her fault. It was who was careless. Can...can you not dismiss her?"
"She let you handle knives in the kitchen and you ended up injuring your finger, and you say it’s not her fault? I didn’t know that in this household the master now has to do his own cooking! What do I employ them for?"
Furious seeing her still bleeding finger, Gu Shaocheng scolded her inside for being so foolish and easy to bully, that even the kitchen staff dared take advantage of her. If he didn’t stand up for her now, no one would ever respect her.
"But..."
"Say one more word to plead for them, and the fine will be doubled." He stifled all her pleas with a single line.
Ye Chenxing, resigned, closed her eyes. She blad herself for the others’ misfortune. He was a man who wouldn’t listen to pleas; she had no choice but to let him have his way until she felt herself placed on a soft couch.
"Unhappy? Not even willing to look at ? Or are you trying to hide like a turtle, thinking that by closing your eyes you can escape reality?" His inquisitive voice sounded next to her ear.
Eventually, she opened her eyes. To her surprise, he was kneeling on one knee in front of her, his first aid kit at his feet, tending to her wound.
His touch was...rather gentle.
"Does it hurt?"
Chenxing shook her head, sowhat confused about what kind of man he was.
This silly girl.
Gu Shaocheng thought while smiling. He was establishing authority for her, though he didn’t plan on explaining it to her, "What, are you still mad at ?"
"It was truly my fault, it had nothing to do with Aunt Zhang. How can you take your anger out on her and the people in the kitchen?"
"Without rules, there will be chaos. Wrongdoers must be punished. That’s what she deserves. Are you mad at for this?" Gu Shaocheng’s lips curved into a cold, humourless smile.
"But it’s all my fault." Chenxing’s voice was faint but filled with guilt, "I only cut my hand because I was absent-minded."
Gu Shaocheng slightly furrowed his brow.
At that mont, there was a knock on the door of the lounge room. After Gu Shaocheng acknowledged it, the door was gently pushed open from the outside. The butler led a man in, who appeared to be the family doctor. Seeing him, Gu Shaocheng stood up and then gave a simple order.
"Bandage her wound, don’t hurt her. And, while you’re at it, give her a complete checkup, I want to know how her body is..."
He sat across a tea table from her, taking a cup of tea brought in by a servant. He played with the lid of the teacup. His whole being emitted a powerful chilling air.
It wasn’t too much, but it greatly affected the butler who was nearby.
The butler felt goosebumps, and deep within the chill of his Lord’s icy glare, his back was icy cold with cold sweat trickling down his forehead.
