Engineer Li Xiao sighed reluctantly, "Alright then."
"Achoo." Chenxing rubbed her nose.
Li Xiao asked, "Chenxing, do you have a cold?"
"No, soone must be speaking highly of behind my back." She patted the little boy’s head and engaged in a simple conversation with him in the local dialect.
The rain had eased up a bit by now, but it was still difficult to drive. The last stretch of road to the village was too narrow for vehicles. Chenxing slipped on a raincoat and picked up the dical kit, preparing to trek on foot with the boy. Li Xiao didn’t allow her to go alone, pulling on his raincoat quickly and joining in.
While walking and chatting, he said, "Chenxing, I never asked you; why did you go to the Arican sector? Are you a Chinese Arican? But your accent sounds like that of a Canadian Chinese from Vancouver."
Chenxing, wearing heavy rubber boots and carefully treading the muddy path, devoted her entire attention to walking, "Yes, my family immigrated to Canada a long ti ago. I can tell from your accent too that you are a Canadian Chinese from Vancouver, am I right?"
"So, you are really from City A, that’s even stranger."
Chenxing grinned and chose not to explain, "A twist of fate."
"Why didn’t you co to our Canadian sector? This place seems more suitable for you. You and your cousin are always with a group of Aricans, I always thought our sector would suit you better."
"The Arican sector is also quite good, they’ve given a new life." Ever since she ca here, her days have been filled with non-stop busy work. Every day was fulfilling and happy. In her eyes, it made no difference whether the eyes were blue or black."
As the two of them continued to chat and proceed deeper into the rubber plantation, with the path getting so narrow and surrounded by original forests, the little boy who was leading the way ran swiftly, resembling an eel on the muddy path. Chenxing was afraid that he might trip, "Slow down, don’t run so fast."
But the young boy just laughed ’hehe’ and kept urging them to move faster.
Chenxing and Li Xiao exchanged a glance and simultaneously displayed expressions of admiration. Despite them being full-grown adults, they couldn’t keep up with a little five or six-year-old.

At the sa ti, a civilian helicopter slowly landed at the camp of the Canadian sector.
Gu Shaocheng ca out, wearing a disposable raincoat. Yan Fengchi had already jumped down, hugging Commander Xu with one arm.
"Old Yan, why have you co here?"
Yan Fengchi teased, "Ca to see you, Commander Xu. What, you are not welcoming? Let introduce you to soone. This is my elder brother, with the surna Gu. We ca here to look for soone, Chenxing, whom you have heard about... she is Big Brother Gu’s... cousin!" Yan Fengchi changed his words at the last minute, pausing for a mont and then continued, "She had an argunt with her family a few months ago. The impulsive child ran away from ho, and Gu and I ca here especially to look for her."
"Chenxing’s cousin?" Commander Xu sized up Gu Shaocheng carefully, contemplating for a mont before shaking his hand, "Nice to et you!"
Gu Shaocheng courteously returned pleasantries. As soon as the other party turned around, he gave Yan Fengchi a solid kick!
A cousin, really?!
Yan Fengchi raised his eyebrows silently, stepped forward at a leisurely pace, ignoring his brother’s wrath. He casually put his arm around Commander Xu’s shoulder. As per military communication styles, the two, while talking, proceeded towards the house.
