Chenxing instinctively avoided Gu Shaocheng’s gaze, her eyes burning in discomfort.
Seventy percent sha, thirty percent pain.
Resentful yet grateful.
Indescribable feelings.
Eventually, Gu Shaocheng stuffed sothing into her hand and turned away.
"Hurry up."
After she replaced the thing that embarrassed them both, she gently leaned into Gu Shaocheng’s embrace, letting him carry her out.
Once again enveloped in her duvet, she quietly accepted an intravenous injection, and was fed dicine.
Chenxing was tortured by this acute TSS, unable to even groan. Softly lying on her bed, her hair soaked in cold sweat, clinging to her cheeks, she looked pitifully sweet.
"Are you feeling better?" Gu Shaocheng sat by the bed, softly asking her, gently moving the damp hair from her cheek, "Does it still itch?"
Chenxing groggily opened her eyes, it took her a while before she quietly said, "Sorry, I accidentally hit the alarm button. I intended to call soone..."
Before she could finish, Gu Shaocheng dropped his head and kissed her forehead gently, his voice soft and hushed, "It’s okay, go to sleep."
"Is it really okay? Aren’t you hosting a banquet? Did I interrupt it?" She bit her lip, subconsciously curling up, even though she shouldn’t have. She clumsily grabbed his wrist, her soft lips touched the back of his hand, imprinting a timid kiss filled with gratitude, "I’m so sorry, are you busy? You can go, I’ll be fine."
Gu Shaocheng was taken aback by her actions, he gently patted Chenxing’s head, "I’ll leave when you fall asleep. I probably won’t co back tonight. I’ll assign the butler to take care of you, if you need anything just call him. Doctor Tian will be with you, if anything happens with your body, don’t hide it, inform him imdiately."
People only appreciate things when they experience them firsthand. Despite his commanding tone, she heard the warmth and concern.
Chenxing kept her eyes closed, not uttering a word, pretending to sleep. She hoped not to hold him back, and unknowingly she fell into a real sleep.
Gu Shaocheng waited until her breath was steady, then quietly got up.
At the door, he gave careful instructions.
"Butler, you stay, guard outside the bedroom. I don’t trust others."
The butler replied, "Sir, rest assured, you can count on ."
Knowing the butler was responsible, Gu Shaocheng nodded and said to Doctor Tian, "Report her condition to every half hour. Text ."
Then, he reluctantly left, as if soone had cruelly torn him away. The banquet schedule was tight after being delayed here for over half an hour. Fortunately, Bai Wuqing was entertaining the guests well. After a slight hiccup, the party resud in full swing. By eight in the evening, the host and guests reveled through the night. Chenxing wasn’t aware of the lively nocturnal activities, and Gu Shaocheng wouldn’t let her know. She quietly lay in bed, enduring four hours of intravenous drips until the next morning. Her body no longer hurt, and she wasn’t nauseous anymore, but the itch was still unbearable.
Her body was covered in red rashes, especially on her limbs.
Chenxing scratched the itches while checking the stock market on her phone.
