She clearly won, she definitely won!
Gu Shaocheng, standing at the head of the bed, playfully pushed Chenxing’s quilt and laughed, "What are you doing, giving that look? A loss is a loss. Why are you acting so unsporting? If you can’t accept defeat, then you’re just a little puppy."
A muffled voice ca from under the quilt, defiantly insisting, "I won, I clearly won. You’re the poor sport! You cheated! You tricked ! I’m a capable person! Yes, I am! Yes, I am!"
Gu Shaocheng squinted, looking at Chenxing’s quilt.
Alright, he admitted, he was the sore loser and, in the end, he was the one who desperately tried to justify himself. He didn’t feel any joy from winning the bet when looking at the sulking little girl. Instead, it left a bad taste in his mouth.
He was suddenly infuriated!
"Is this your way of acting sore because you lost?"
He was already exasperated when he found out she had made money, and now she was acting this way, impatient to fly solo?
Fine! So, she had been harboring thoughts of leaving him all this ti!
"Chenxing, has your heart been eaten by a dog? I, Gu Shaocheng, have poured my heart and soul into a woman like never before, expecting so form of reciprocation. I’ve lavished her with love, spoiling and protecting her, but her heart remains as cold as before unchanging one bit!"
Chenxing bit her lip, feeling a surge of bitterness rise up in her throat that was so overwhelming it made it difficult for her to breathe.
"I’m not being defiant."
"If you’re not defying , then who are you giving this attitude to? You’re so set on winning, so set on leaving ?" His voice suddenly carried a hint of chill, laced with frustration and cold anger.
"Does being with make you that uncomfortable, that you’re so impatient to leave my world?"
"If that’s really the case..." He finally spoke again after a long pause, his tone indifferent and seeming a bit drained, "then if you’re so eager to win, so eager to leave my world, then go."
If you’re indifferent, then I’ll stop caring!
With that, he stord out.
Running around dealing with matters the past few days left him tired and he didn’t want her to hurt him anymore. At this mont, the strong man was like a deflated balloon, not his usual dominant self. He just wanted to find a quiet place to rest.
Hearing the echo of the closes door in the room, Chenxing lifted the quilt with a dazed expression and a pang in her heart. What was he saying?
When did she ever show any impatience to leave his world?
She just didn’t want him to look down on her or belittle her. She just wanted to prove that she could survive on her own.
He misunderstood her.
At that mont, Chenxing threw off the blanket, hopped out of bed fast, and went after him, pushing open the bedroom door.
But Gu Shaocheng was already far away.
Frustrated, Chenxing was afraid he would send her away, so she hurried after him. Once she reached the courtyard, without a second thought, she opened her arms and hugged him around the waist, tears uncontrollably rolling down her cheeks, "Gu Shaocheng."
Her voice was choked up, not knowing what to say after rushing to him, only managed to call out his na pitifully.
She didn’t want to pick a fight with him!
Gu Shaocheng paused but said nothing. His heart was filled with anger.
She could feel his current coldness and indifference—thinking of how just a mont ago, the man who held her tight, showered her with passionate kisses and confided in her, was keeping his distance. There was even a hint of coldness.
