Chenxing’s eyes rolled playfully and she licked off a bit of frosting from her hand.
As Gu Shaocheng unwrapped his present, he gave her a stern look as he read her intentions,
threatening half-jokingly, "Anyone who dares sar frosting on my face won’t get to celebrate my birthday with ."
Chenxing let out an "Ah!" Her face cracked into astonishnt.
Her frosting-covered hand froze in mid-air, then without further action, she let out a whimper in her mind, opened her mouth and licked the sar directly into her stomach.
While Huanhuan and Luo Xi had urged her to smash the entire cake in his face, this man had cleverly guessed her intentions before she had even made a move. Chenxing bit her lower lip and let out a small chuckle.
She didn’t dare to proceed any further.
Once the gift box was opened, inside the exquisite box was just a single letter.
Gu Shaocheng’s eyes flickered. He pulled out the letter and waved it in front of her, "This is your birthday gift?"
She nodded.
"I can’t believe you just ca to freeload." He grumbled with so annoyance at her apparent lack of effort.
"It’s a love letter!" Chenxing quickly defended herself. "The love letter I’ve always owed you."
She couldn’t co up with any other better gift. She had always promised to write him a love letter. It took her whole three nights to fill it with ten thousand heartfelt words.
Chenxing looked at his expression and her mouth tightened slightly, "Don’t you like it?"
Gu Shaocheng’s face was unreadable. His lazy eyes swept over her once. He carefully folded the letter and tucked it into his trouser pocket. His movents were incredibly gentle. "Who needs a love letter from soone they’ve already broken up with?"
Chenxing averted her gaze and quietly sighed. "Then I’ll think of another gift for you."
"No need. Insincere woman."
"No need. Insincere woman." He got up, dusted off his clothes, and extended his hand to the sullen girl from his elevated position, "Co, dance with ."
Chenxing blinked her eyes, lifting her head, but not letting any tears fall.
Her sowhat blurry eyes brimd with unshed tears, as she looked at Gu Shaocheng, full of regret and apology.
"I truly put so much effort into this gift..." She bit her lip hard, hard enough to hurt. She thought he would be happy with her love letter, but to him, was it just a careless gesture?
Yes, the gifts he received from others were extravagant and priceless, while all she gave him were a few words. So much for "it’s the thought that really counts." He didn’t care about it at all. Who would want a love letter after breaking up?
"I’m sorry." She lowered her head, apologizing.
A tremor ran through Gu Shaocheng’s heart and a complicated light flashed in his eyes. He grasped her hand and leaned in, "Alright, I take back what I said. This gift...isn’t bad. I quite like it."
"Really?"
He nodded twice, "I really like it."
Whether he was just comforting her or truly liked it, she didn’t know. Already, he was leading her towards the dance floor, his deep pleasant voice whispered into her ear, "What dance did you learn?"
Chenxing didn’t know either. Her cousin had just taught her. She thought for a bit, raised her chin, looked at the n and won dancing around them and said: "The dance they are doing."
He nodded, guessing that would be it. Not expecting much from this last-minute ad-libbed woman, he held her waist, his movents gentle as he accommodated to her. He thought for a while and whispered into her ear, "Don’t show off if you can’t dance. It’s okay to embarrass yourself, just don’t drag down with you."
