While complaining, Hua Hua wiped off all the sweat from Gu Shaocheng and carefully turned off the movie that had been playing.
Turned off the lights, left the room, and returned to the living room.
Alone, casually found sothing to eat from the fridge and stirred his coffee cup with his pinky finger raised.
He was feeling a bit sentintal.
With his legs crossed, he sat quietly on the sofa, observing the expansive house.
His mind wandered aimlessly.
The soft lighting only added to the sense of emptiness in the living room, intensifying his loneliness.
So emotions were stirred up, but with no outlet, he headed to the treadmill in the living room and worked out while watching TV.
He had been running for less than five minutes when soone knocked at the door. Third Brother Nan’s loud voice could be heard even through several walls.
Hua Hua grabbed a clean towel, wiped his sweat, and went to open the door.
"Hey, you kid, didn’t you promise to co have dinner at my place? My mother-in-law made a whole table of good dishes, we waited for you for ages. Here, I brought you so food in case you were hungry."
Nan Baihao walked in, grumbling, "I really don’t get what charm you have; even my mother-in-law is chard by you. Can’t won in this world have a few normal aesthetic views?"
Nan Baihao’s voice was teasing, but since he ca to bring food, Hua Hua begrudgingly didn’t argue, though he thought to himself, "Bullshit, I, Hua Hua, have always been appealing to all ages and sweet-talking, seducing your mother-in-law is a piece of cake for !"
Nan Baihao put the bag on a low table and looked around: "What are you doing?"
"Running."
"Running?" He looked around but didn’t see anyone else, then turned and asked, "Why is Shaocheng’s car parked outside?"
"He’s drunk, sleeping upstairs."
"Why did he co to sleep here?"
Hua Hua shrugged. "How would I know? Maybe he had a fight with his wife. After you quarrel with Third Sister-in-law, don’t you also like to co and stay at my place?"
"Shit, when have Huanhuan and I ever argued? Don’t stir trouble in our marriage, or I’ll beat you to death." Nan Baihao said as he walked upstairs.
Hua Hua realized his intentions and chased after him, saying, "Hey, he’s asleep, don’t wake him up."
"I just want to see if Shaocheng is really here."
"What’s there to see? I’m not going to eat him," Hua Hua said, blushing slightly, then turned away, ignoring him and went downstairs to see what good food Nan Baihao had brought him.
Hmm, not bad, all healthy and nutritious food.
Too bad he didn’t feel like eating.
Shaocheng probably hadn’t eaten either, busy drinking, and would likely be hungry when he sobered up.
Hua Hua rewrapped the food neatly and put it in an insulated box, then went back to running on the treadmill.
Footsteps thudded down the stairs.
Nan Baihao chuckled as he ca down, surprised, "Didn’t expect him to actually be here."
"I didn’t lie to you."
"Okay, I’m leaving. Send a text when Shaocheng wakes up."
Hua Hua didn’t respond.
Nan Baihao walked up to the treadmill and deliberately tweaked its speed, mischievously accelerating it, then tapped the treadmill and asked, "Did you hear?"
Hua Hua reluctantly sped up, "Why tell you?"
"I have sothing to discuss with him."
