258: Chapter 75: Display of the Super Divine Artifact Formed by the Fusion of Emperor Zither and Emperor Zi (Part 1) 258: Chapter 75: Display of the Super Divine Artifact Formed by the Fusion of Emperor Zither and Emperor Zi (Part 1) The might of a rank Ten Divine Beast was indeed not something this group could contend with; the chasm between rank Ten and rank Nine was truly like that of heaven and earth.

At the very start of the battle, Zi had experienced Glacis’s might firsthand, which is why he had charged forth himself, attempting to block Glacis by overexerting his own strength, in order to buy Ye Yinzhu and the others a chance to escape.

But Ye Yinzhu did not give up on him, and neither did anyone else.

Everyone unleashed their powerful abilities, initiating several Forbidden Curse-level ferocious attacks, yet faced with the War Behemoth’s supreme defense, not even Forbidden Curses could breach it, rendering their efforts futile.

Zi ultimately suffered a fatal injury under Glacis’s overwhelming attack due to his excessive overexertion.

Among all of Glacis’s attacks, aside from the charge, the ones that truly belonged to a rank Ten Demon Beast’s offensive capabilities were actually those inconspicuous milky white halos emanating from his horn.

Having endured such an attack, even the constitution of an Amethyst Behemoth could not sustain life, and he used the last of his strength to shield Ye Yinzhu and the others from the aftermath produced by the collision of Glacis’s attack with the sacrifice of the Silver Dragon and Sura’s assault.

At that moment, Zi knew he was finished, his life had reached its end, and he could distinctly feel his life force pletely slipping away, as well as sense the immense sorrow ing from Ye Yinzhu’s spirit.

But soon after, everything before his eyes plunged into darkness.

When Ye Yinzhu heard that authoritative voice, Zi had heard it too, though it was his lingering spirit, not yet dispersed, that heard it.

That authoritative voice spoke only one sentence to him, “Whether your life continues or not will be decided by your panions.” It wasn’t any deity speaking, but rather the voice of the equality life-bonding contract.

Before this voice had emerged, even Zi had not known that an equal life-bonding contract could bring about such an extraordinary situation.

Right after, he heard the contract’s voice addressing Ye Yinzhu and Ye Yinzhu’s immediate response.

In that moment, Zi found his steadfast spirit trembling for the first time—trembling with gratitude—because by then he knew what the price for reviving someone with an equal life-bonding contract was, and so did Ye Yinzhu.

It was information that appeared in the depths of their spirits simultaneously.

If one were to die and wish to be resurrected, it would cost half of their life force.

If Ye Yinzhu had a hundred years of life, resurrecting Zi would leave him with only fifty.

While saving a life may be difficult, many people are still willing to extend a helping hand at a critical moment, but how many would continue to do so if it meant sacrificing half of their own lifespan, especially to make such an immediate decision?

Ye Yinzhu did just that, and in that moment, Zi knew that if he were to continue living, then aside from their brotherly relationship, things would no longer be equal between him and Ye Yinzhu, as the equal life-bonding contract would bee a master and servant life-bonding contract.

This was not the contract imposing a restriction on him, but rather a restraint he placed on himself.

Snapping out of his reverie, Zi quickly returned to normal, and since he was nude, he maintained the appearance of his Amethyst Armor while striding towards the distance, quickly recovering the bodies of Dis and Perkins that had been blasted away earlier.

The two Golden Behemoths were severely injured, with at least one-third of their bones pletely shattered.

Not even the strongest defensive power among rank Nine Beasts, that of the Golden Behemoths, could withstand the might of the War Behemoth.

However, Golden Behemoths are, after all, Golden Behemoths, and they were still alive, their formidable defensive strength having saved their lives; they were simply unconscious at this time.

Zi placed the bodies of Dis and Perkins together, refraining from treating their injuries, as he was unfamiliar with the skeleton of a Behemoth Beast.

But given the strong regeneration abilities of the Golden Behemoths, the two of them needed only a lengthy recovery to regain their former splendor.

A rare smile crossed Zi’s usually stern visage—at least, his two loyal subordinates were alive.

To be alive was to have hope.

It wasn’t long before the three Ice Pole Demon Monkeys regained consciousness, one after another.

Upon opening their eyes, they immediately saw that the battle had ended, and Zi’s still-towering presence informed them of the oute.

They hurriedly apologized to Zi in panic.

Zi did not blame them.

Falling unconscious on the battlefield wasn’t their fault, as any low-rank magical beast would feel terror when facing a high-rank magical beast, especially with such a vast disparity.

Ye Yinzhu continued in a deep slumber, lying in Haiyang’s arms, while Sura, despite being greatly depleted, refused to cultivate and simply sat quietly beside Ye Yinzhu, watching over him.

Chang Hao too stood guard over Ma Liang, with his own energy consumption being the least of them all.

Somehow, Red Essence Red Spirit emerged from the surrounding broken ice at some point.

This peculiar ancient being had fled to who knows where once the battle began and had only reappeared quietly after it had ended.

With rank Nine Beasts being stunned on the spot, naturally, no one would blame this creature with the strength of only a rank Four Magical Beast for temporarily retreating; his return meant he hadn’t deserted in the midst of battle.

Without the pressure of the War Behemoth, Red Spirit seemed much more lively, focusing intently the moment it appeared, shuttling through the broken ice as if searching for something.

At that moment, Zi stood not far from Ye Yinzhu, with An Qi lying quietly before him.

Gazing upon her enchanting beauty, a trace of melancholy flickered through Zi’s eyes.

“Now that you’ve awakened, why continue to feign sleep?” The indifferently toned voice emitted from Zi as he stood at a position that separated An Qi and Ye Yinzhu.

Youyou opening her eyes, An Qi’s gaze appeared a bit rigid.

With a light pat on the ground, her slender and graceful body stood up from the ground as though weightless, “You are always so lackluster.

But, can you tell me how you knew I was truly awake?”

A hint of something unusual flitted through Zi’s eyes as he replied calmly, “Ever since Yin Zhu handed you over to me, I have been paying attention to the changes in your spiritual power.

If I didn’t even know that your spiritual split had healed, I wouldn’t deserve to be a descendant of the Amethyst Clan.”

An Qi’s expression suddenly turned cold as a dark aura swirled around her, “So what do you want?

To kill me?

Now is your best opportunity.

Less than a third of my mana remains.

If you made your move now, I would be no match for you.

Go ahead.”

Zi shook his head, “You may leave.”

An Qi was taken aback; clearly, she had not expected Zi’s response to be just those three simple words.

“You want me to leave?”

Zi slowly turned around, his back facing An Qi, “Leave before I change my mind.”

An Qi looked at Zi’s broad back, her eyes flickering with extremely plex emotions as everything that had happened during this period kept surfacing in her mind.

It turned out that An Qi had suffered a spiritual split after a rebound of her spiritual power by the Super Divine Artefact Deadwood Dragon Chanting Zither when she attacked Ye Yinzhu’s heart, causing a strong backlash on her spirit.

Her intelligence had reverted to what it was before she turned a hundred years old.

Elves are considered underage before the age of a hundred, which is roughly equivalent to a ten-year-old human.

Therefore, she had been exhibiting her childish self.

What Zi brought to An Qi was a strong sense of security; ever since her spiritual split, as soon as she regained consciousness, she felt dependent on him the moment she laid eyes on Zi because of this sense of security.

Today, facing the War Behemoth Glacis and seeing Zi wounded, An Qi’s heart ached terribly, and her subconscious unleashed her true strength.

A powerful Dark Taboo required a tremendous amount of spiritual power, let alone a double Dark Taboo; even with her Eighth Rank Zi magic rank, she had nearly exhausted all her spiritual power.

Under these circumstances, her spirit, split from the backlash, was remerged by the Spiritual Imprint due to the lack of opposing forces, allowing her to recover her original memories.

However, regaining her memory did not mean she had forgotten everything that had happened during this time.

On the contrary, since her memory fully returned, everything that had happened during this time, including her dependence on Zi, was deeply etched into the depths of her memory.

“Zi,” An Qi softly called out, her body’s cold aura suddenly vanishing, and even her voice became gentle.

“Don’t you have anything to say to me?”

Zi did not turn back, his voice indifferent, “If you e across Yin Zhu again, I hope you will not hurt him.

Otherwise, I will not let you off.”

A wry smile appeared at the corner of An Qi’s mouth, “Do you think I could harm someone who can cast the Seven Forbidden Spells instantly?

You really think too highly of me.

It turns out that your feelings for me have always been just of a prisoner left in your care by Ye Yinzhu.”

This time, Zi remained silent, just standing there quietly.

“Can you tell me, have you ever liked me?

Even just a little?” An Qi suddenly asked with some agitation.

Zi’s figure visibly stiffened for a moment, but still, he gave no response.

With a plea in her voice, An Qi said, “Even if it’s just liking me like a sister, not even that?”

Zi took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, seemingly reluctant, he nodded slightly.

An Qi’s face lit up with joy, “So you do like me?

I’m leaving now, I really don’t want to go.” As if remembering something, she looked toward the south.

“Since you like him, why are you leaving?

Are you waiting for him to ask you to stay?” Sura arrived at An Qi’s side without her noticing.

Sura had been watching her ever since An Qi regained consciousness, as he was worried she might be a threat to Yin Zhu.

He remained calm and observant on the sidelines until he was sure An Qi would not be a danger.

Hearing the conversation between Zi and An Qi, he couldn’t help but reflect on his own experiences and spoke up.

——————————————————————————————————————————————

How substantial is the help that powerful magical beasts provide to Yin Zhu and the others?

The subsequent battles were practically invincible—what else could they possibly learn from that?

Hehe, to solve this problem, please look forward to the next installment titled “The Insignificant War Behemoth.”
