But Ivy shook her head slowly.
"I don’t think I can."
The energy inside her was already gathering.
It felt like a tide rising uncontrollably.
Without hesitation, she closed her eyes.
Then she allowed the energy to circulate through her body.
Her aura suddenly expanded outward.
The invisible energy surged like a wave before stabilizing again.
When Ivy finally opened her eyes...
Everything had changed. Her senses exploded outward.
It was as if the world itself had unfolded before her.
She could feel everything. Every movent. Every vibration.
Her perception expanded rapidly until it covered an enormous range.
Almost a thousand kiloters.
Even sothing as small as an ant moving hundreds of kiloters away could now be detected by her senses.
Her perception felt almost hyper-dinsional.
As if her awareness had stepped into another level of existence.
Silas stared at her, worry still visible on his face.
Seeing that she had stabilized, she suddenly stepped forward and hugged him tightly.
But the mont Silas’s arms wrapped around her...
He froze.
Sothing felt wrong. ’How...?’
His mind raced. The mont she had decided to move...
She had already reached him.
It had happened almost instantly.
Less than a second.
Silas slowly pulled back, staring at her in disbelief.
"Did you awaken super speed?"
Ivy blinked.
Only now did she realize what he ant.
Maybe... her speed had also increased.
She looked at Silas with a thoughtful expression.
Then she slowly shook her head. "It doesn’t feel like that."
Her voice was calm, but a trace of uncertainty lingered inside it.
"Sothing else... seems to have changed."
Silas leaned slightly forward, his brows knitting together as curiosity flickered across his face.
"What exactly is it?"
Ivy hesitated for a mont before answering.
"It... it feels like my strength has increased."
Her voice carried a faint note of uncertainty, as though she herself could not completely believe what she was sensing within her body.
Silas rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"Maybe it’s because of all the breakthrough that you have gone through," he suggested. It wouldn’t be strange if those level ups triggered a new power."
However, Ivy slowly shook her head.
A faint crease appeared between her brows. "No... even in my past life, my breakthrough never..."
Her sentence abruptly stopped midway.
Ivy’s entire body froze.
A mory surged into her mind like a cold blade sliding into her chest.
She rembered Damien... or rather, the entity that had been living inside Damien’s body.
She rembered how that thing had stolen away her power.
’So... maybe I did have powers back then,’ Ivy thought quietly, her fingers curling against the blanket.
’But they were taken away before I even realized they existed.’
The realization made her fall silent.
Silas noticed the sudden change in her expression.
The warmth in his eyes softened, and he let out a quiet sigh.
Instead of questioning her further, he gently began humming a soft tune under his breath.
The lody was slow and soothing, almost like a lullaby carried by the night breeze.
"You shouldn’t worry so much," he murmured gently.
Ivy gave a small nod, though the heaviness in her eyes remained.
Exhaustion slowly overtook her. Within monts, she drifted into sleep.
Silas watched her quietly.
It had been a long ti since Ivy had managed to sleep peacefully like this.
Dark circles faintly shadowed the skin beneath her eyes, evidence of countless restless nights.
’It would be better if she sleeps a little longer,’ Silas thought.
He gently patted her head, his palm moving in slow, careful strokes through her hair.
The strands felt soft beneath his fingers, carrying a faint scent of lavender from the soap she used.
As he continued patting her head, her breathing gradually beca deeper and steadier.
Before long, Ivy had completely fallen asleep.
At the sa ti, Silas himself began to feel a strange heaviness creeping over his eyelids. His vision blurred slightly as drowsiness washed over him.
Slowly, he closed his eyes.
Not long after, a voice echoed in the darkness.
"Do you wish to awaken your power as well?"
Silas frowned slightly, the words pulling him from the edge of sleep.
"Who’s there?" he demanded.
Silence.
For a brief mont, nothing answered him.
Then the voice spoke again, calm and distant.
"Do you want your power to awaken?"
Silas’ brows tightened, but this ti he didn’t respond imdiately.
He rembered the story Ivy had told him, how she had been tricked by that mysterious ring.
How sothing had manipulated her and taken away her luck.
’I’m not falling for the sa trap,’ he thought grimly.
However, another thought appeared in his mind.
The system.
Because of the system he possessed, even though he hadn’t officially awakened abilities like super speed or super strength, he was still able to move faster and hit harder than ordinary people.
He suspected that the system was related to this voice.
Just as that thought ford in his mind, the voice spoke again.
"Your power surpasses both super speed and super strength."
Silas remained silent.
"If you wish," the voice continued, almost temptingly, "you can possess even more."
Silas frowned deeper.
"No," he replied flatly. "I’m not interested."
He turned away, intending to leave.
However, the next second, the voice spoke again.
"You may ignore now," it said calmly. "But rember this... if you do not awaken your power at the right ti, you will definitely regret your decision soday."
At that mont, another voice suddenly echoed through the darkness.
"Silas..."
Silas’ heart skipped.
The voice sounded exactly like Ivy.
"This power will be very important in the future," Ivy’s voice whispered faintly.
"We will be separated... and when that ti cos, only this power will allow you to reach ."
Silas’ eyes widened in shock.
"Ivy?!" he called out, quickly looking around. "Are you here?"
No response ca.
The darkness remained completely silent.
Silas clenched his fists tightly. His nails dug slightly into his palms.
’Was that... an illusion?’
Just as that thought crossed his mind, the original voice echoed again.
