Secretary Xu hadn’t expected his remark to cause such a commotion, but fortunately, the old man behind him managed to divert everyone’s attention, as the staff mbers greeted him upon seeing him.

Lin Tian recognized the voice and turned around with a smile, "Professor Xue, long ti no see, I’ve missed you."

"Brother Lin, you really know how to joke, it’s only been a few days, don’t tell you feel like it was a lifeti apart," Professor Xue wasn’t a strict and old-fashioned person, and he responded with the sa humor.

Lin Tian loved the easy-going nature of the professor who didn’t put on airs. He laughed and said, "More than a lifeti, it’s like waiting through the cold season, oh no, longing over the autumn waters!"

"Haha..." the old man chuckled upon hearing this, "Talking with Brother Lin makes feel younger."

The dialogue between the two stunned the bystanders again—a young, handso CEO-level figure and the highly respected Professor Xue with quite a surprising age gap—yet their conversation was as familiar as if they had forgotten the years between them.

Their onlookers’ gaze towards Lin Tian grew even more curious. Who exactly was this young man?

"Excuse , has Brother Lin’s pass been arranged?" Professor Xue saw the pretty administrator daydreaming and decided to ask on his behalf.

"Oh, it’s ready, I am so sorry for the delay." The administrator quickly handed the pass to Lin Tian.

Lin Tian looked at the card—it was gold-colored with beautiful patterns and the group’s na. He weighed it for a mont; it seed to have an embedded electronic chip for identity verification.

"Mr. Lin, I still have things to take care of, so please make yourself at ho. If you need anything, you can call ," Secretary Xu finished the procedures and prepared to get back to work.

Lin Tian nodded and thanked him. Once Secretary Xu had left, he and Professor Xue walked into the library together.

The library was large, with rows of shelves organized by category. Besides, there were desks and chairs for convenient reading, and many people were using the electronic reading area.

Seeing this, Lin Tian nodded appreciatively; the Xiao Family had indeed put a lot of thought into providing a library for their employees to study.

It’s better to teach soone to fish than to just give them a fish. By learning, employees could truly acquire more knowledge, rather than spend all day imrsed in office politics. This, in turn, would better serve the group—a win-win situation.

The library was very quiet. Lin Tian and Professor Xue stopped chatting and continued walking further inside until they reached another door, which had a scanner. Lin Tian was smart enough to know what to do. He swiped the gold card, the door opened, and Professor Xue did the sa.

Once inside, they found themselves in a restricted area where surprisingly, there was no one.

"Heh, Brother Lin, don’t be surprised. This area stores valuable materials and books, even so of the company’s research results. People rarely enter this restricted area unless they need specific materials," Professor Xue explained. He added, "I will go look for so materials first, and we can chat later if we have ti."

Being the workaholic that he was, Lin Tian didn’t mind letting him be, and he began browsing the books on the shelves himself.

Indeed, the first shelf was stocked with research materials, all organised by date and stored in file boxes on the shelves.

Lin Tian wasn’t interested in that, so he continued deeper into the area, stopping in front of a shelf labeled "Huaxia dicine."

anwhile, Professor Xue was sitting in the aisle between the shelves, head bowed, flipping through books, totally unresponsive to Lin Tian’s arrival.

Lin Tian didn’t disturb him, instead, he began browsing on his own. His search through the books was much faster than an average person, as he switched on his x-ray vision and scanned row by row.

Here, there were not only modern printed books, but also so older thread-bound volus, ancient copies of the "Inner Canon of Huangdi," "Treatise on Cold Pathogenic and Miscellaneous Diseases," and so forth.

But none of these were what he wanted. Just as Lin Tian was about to move to another area to search again, a book in the corner of the shelf caught his attention.

"On the Contribution of Gu Techniques to Huaxia dicine..." Lin Tian murmured softly, walking over and carefully pulling out the book.

The book was a modern print, but quite aged, likely several decades old. It would be troubleso if it tore unintentionally, as all the books here seed precious.

He flipped directly to the main text and started to scan it quickly—one line at a ti. The book recorded a lot of content about Gu techniques.

Gu techniques were mysterious witchcraft inherited from ancient Huaxia. It was first seen in the Miao Border region and was also known as "Belly Worm." The creators of Gu would capture many insects, place them in a vessel, and let them fight and devour each other. The last surviving insect in the vessel was called Gu.

By introducing it into a person’s body through eating, breathing, or contact, it achieved certain purposes, and this was called Gu technique.

In ancient villages, Gu techniques were invented or researched by powerful magicians to protect the common people. However, due to changes in tis and the complexity of human nature, Gu techniques were used maliciously.

Thus, Gu techniques could both save and harm people.

Belly Worm? Lin Tian furrowed his brows upon seeing this term. This "Belly Worm" was just a narrow interpretation; when Gu techniques were applied, the Gu was not necessarily in the belly but could be in any part of a person’s body.

Damn, could Mr. Qi be afflicted by Gu technique rather than so parasites? Yes, it must be so, Lin Tian confird this fact in his mind.

Parasites are not that bizarre, and many things in Japan are inherited from Huaxia, so it’s not surprising that the Japanese know Gu techniques.

In pursuit of more information about Gu techniques, Lin Tian continued flipping through the book, but it contained mostly theoretical stuff. The author probably had never seen what real Gu techniques looked like and only researched based on other sources.

There were so clues, but not enough information. Could it be necessary for to personally investigate in the Miao Border? Even if I found sothing, it would be too late for Mr. Qi; he’d be long gone.

"Huh? Brother Lin, you have a peculiar way of reading books," a voice suddenly said.

Lin Tian looked up and saw Professor Xue sitting on the floor, looking at him.

"Is there sothing strange?" Lin Tian asked, puzzled. He always read books this way and didn’t think there was anything inappropriate.

"There are two strange things. First, the speed at which you read, it’s faster than skimming, almost like flipping pages. Second, the book you are reading, as a young man, reading such an odd old book about Gu techniques—it’s quite strange in itself," Professor Xue explained thodically.

"Oh, I’ve been trained since I was young to read quickly like this." Lin Tian made up a casual excuse, then, a thought struck him—Professor Xue seed to know sothing about Gu techniques.

He walked over and sat down next to Professor Xue, then humbly asked, "Professor Xue, I’m quite interested in Gu techniques, so I’m looking at so books about them."

"Ha-ha..." Professor Xue laughed out loud, laughing a few tis before saying, "Gu techniques are mysteriously unpredictable and constantly changing. How could they possibly be recorded in texts? They have always been passed down orally."
