Delphine was startled awake by hunger. The first thing she saw was the familiar carved patterns on the ceiling. The quilt beside her carried the cool, woody scent of a man, warm and comforting.

She suddenly sat up, pausing for a few seconds before recalling that she was at the Leclair Residence.

After taking a bath and changing her clothes, she went downstairs. The side hall was eerily quiet, as if everyone in the Leclair Residence had vanished into thin air.

"Miss Delphine, why have you co down?" A servant, carrying a plate of broken porcelain pieces, entered the side hall and was startled to see her.

Delphine noticed the fragnts in her hands belonged to Old Master’s favorite set of premium zisha teapot cups. Her brows furrowed imdiately as she asked, "What happened?"

The servant hurriedly cleaned up the shards, avoiding further explanation, and rely lowered her gaze. "It’s nothing."

At this mont, the main hall was in utter chaos. The Old Master had smashed his most beloved zisha cup in a fit of rage, but no servant dared to utter a single word about it.

On the day of Mrs. Leclair’s birthday banquet, the servant who alard Miss Delphine was quietly dealt with afterward. Nowadays, who at the Leclair Residence still dared to speak out of turn?

Seeing that she wouldn’t elaborate, Delphine walked out of the side hall, crossed the small garden, and saw the senior butler and Maximilian standing outside the main hall.

Upon seeing her, Maximilian quickly ca forward and said in a low voice, "Miss Delphine, now is not the ti to go to the main hall. The matter of Fenghai has brought representatives from all the major families to our doorstep. As for your and Reginald Yeager’s kidnapping, that must never be ntioned. This matter must be swallowed silently, no matter how bitter."

Hearing his stream of words, Delphine’s expression darkened slightly. Her fingers subconsciously clenched as she asked softly, "Is Fenghai really that serious?"

Maximilian nodded solemnly and replied, "Ignatius had everything arranged originally, but Griffith Squire unexpectedly turned on him at the last mont, refusing to acknowledge that his n appeared in the South Seas. Now Ignatius finds himself besieged on all sides, struggling with every step."

Delphine stood at the doorway, straining to listen for a while, her face gradually growing paler.

She stepped aside and made a call to Griffith Squire.

The call quickly connected, and the man’s mischievous, seductive voice ca through the receiver, tinged with a lazy drowsiness. "Looking for , little Delphine?"

"You’ve been sleeping?" Delphine glanced at the gray, overcast sky; it was already nearing afternoon.

"Hmm, I’ve been running around doing favors since the crack of dawn. Truly exhausting." Griffith’s tone was both amused and sycophantic, with a hint of false modesty. "Little Delphine, I’ve been running myself ragged for you. Can’t you say sothing I’d like to hear?"

Griffith rolled over on his soft, luxurious bed, his grin stretching ear to ear. Oh, little Delphine had finally called him. It looked like that bastard Ignatius Leclair might be drowning in spitfire from those old foxes at the Leclair Residence.

"Thank you for what you did today." Delphine paused for a mont before murmuring her thanks. Then she asked directly, "If you don’t step forward, what will beco of Ignatius?"

Griffith squinted his eyes, lounging lazily on his bed as he sneered, "A military court. Without five or ten years, he won’t be getting out. Although he has the Howard Family and the Shaw Family in Imperial City backing him, it might amount to nothing more than a formality. Even so, the Leclair Residence will face unprecedented suppression after this incident. For a long ti to co, the Leclair Family would have no choice but to keep their heads down."

Delphine raised her eyes, looking at the garden fountain and the potted foliage covered in the frost of first snow. Closing her eyes, she pondered for a mont before reopening them, her voice clear as she asked, "Griffith, if your deploynt to the South Seas is confird, what consequences would you face?"

In this matter, both Ignatius and Griffith were treading a tightrope. One misstep, and there would be no hope of return.

Yet, both had taken action—not just for her, but because they each sought to destroy the other.
