Maximilian walked in and imdiately noticed the man’s stern expression. His gut sank—sothing troubleso must have happened again.

Ever since Miss Delphine’s scandal broke two days ago, life had felt like being roasted alive over an open fla.

He called Arthur White, who was over in the United Kingdom. Upon hearing that it had to do with Miss Delphine, Arthur only sneered coldly and said, "Good luck to you and the Sixth," and then hung up.

Maximilian felt utterly exasperated.

"What’s the Yeager Family’s response?" Ignatius Leclair asked coldly, his brows furrowed tightly.

"Reginald has made no counter move. Currently, with the Yeager Family deliberately fueling the flas, everyone in Southeast Asia knows about the scandal now."

Maximilian lowered his gaze and quickly reported, "This afternoon, Reginald booked a flight to Vancouver. By now, he should already be en route to Vancouver."

Vancouver? Ignatius’s eyes narrowed slightly at the ntion of this location. His lips pressed into a thin line. Why was Reginald going to Vancouver? He rembered that the last place Delphine showed up before returning to Southeast Asia was in Vancouver Town.

"I’ve already instructed Third to keep an eye on Reginald from over there." The strategist Third had always been stationed in the Vancouver area.

Ignatius nodded lightly, pulled out a cigarette case, lit one, but didn’t smoke. He watched the cigarette smolder away bit by bit, his expression impassive.

"The steward called earlier today to say the Fourth Miss has returned. She’s the sort who stirs up trouble. Should we head back to check on things?"

Maximilian reminded him cautiously, though he was anything but reassured. After all, Ignatius had spent last night away from the mansion and had been in a foul, cryptic mood all day. Maximilian felt like yelling at the top of his lungs, "Go back to the Leclair mansion already!"

Ignatius remained silent and suddenly thought of that voiceless phone call.

Since her return, she hadn’t called him once. For years, his phone number hadn’t changed. Not during the five years after they parted, nor even during the years she wandered alone. But never once had she called him.

Ignatius’s heart grew heavier, clouded by a deepening sense of unease.

"How’s Stone Leclair today?"

"Hasn’t left the house all day. Apparently, even his secretary hasn’t seen him," Maximilian replied.

Ignatius narrowed his eyes, suddenly gripped by an ominous premonition. His mood sank as he stood up and began heading out.

Maximilian hurried after him, saying, "Mr. Leclair has been emotionally unstable recently. Could sothing bad be happening at ho? Should I call back to check?"

After all, last night was tense with Mrs. Carter’s arrival, coupled with the Fourth Miss returning from Switzerland. Maximilian suddenly felt his heart racing with unease—sothing had to be wrong.

"No need," Ignatius replied curtly. His tall and stately figure quickened as he strode out the door. He would go back himself to see.

Night fell on the mansion as the servants had already cleaned up the shambles in the side hall until it was spotless.

Bessie Leclair eyed the half-empty room. Thinking of the porcelain vases she had smashed—old pieces from her father’s collection—she began to feel anxious now that her temper cooled.

"None of you are allowed to speak a word of what happened today. If Grandfather asks how the flower vase broke, just say Isaac was fooling around and accidentally smashed it," Bessie ordered the servants harshly.

The servants dared not utter a sound and simply nodded in compliance.

"Wipe down the floor three more tis. Throw out the carpets—they’ve got blood on them. Such bad luck," Bessie said, glancing down at her broken fingernail from earlier. She felt a pang of anguish—it was all because of that Delphine woman.

"Fourth Miss, the wine cellar is too cold, and Miss Delphine’s injuries can’t wait. She needs to be sent to the hospital as soon as possible," the old steward said, glancing at the late hour. With the eldest young master nowhere to be seen, he couldn’t risk delaying things any longer.
