the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart Chapter 83: The man flew into a rage and kicked the colorful
Bessie waved her hand impatiently and said, "Alright, I got it. Send her to a hospital? What if she wakes up and spreads rumors about Uncle hitting people? What would happen to the Leclair Family’s reputation then?
It’s already late. Have the family doctor take a look tomorrow. She’s just an orphan, clinging to her looks to do nothing but slutty things. Beating her to death wouldn’t even matter."
Bessie was fearless; after all, it was Uncle who hit her, and it had nothing to do with her. She took the opportunity to ruthlessly put Delphine Carter in her place, making her recognize her status. How dare she dream of turning a sparrow into a phoenix—what wishful thinking!
Bessie thought about finally getting the chance to reunite and fly freely with Brother Ignatius, and instantly her mood lifted. Humming a tune, she prepared to call up her old gang of rowdy friends to have so fun.
But just as she looked up, she saw Ignatius Leclair returning from outside. The evening was dark, yet the man’s handso, cold features were even darker than the night.
Bessie’s heart thumped, and she called out weakly, "Big Brother, why are you back?"
Bessie wreaked havoc in the Leclair Family, fearing neither the old master nor her parents, nor even Uncle Stone. But she was terrified of this distant, aloof cousin of hers.
Ignatius had disliked her since they were young, and whenever Bessie saw him, she would instinctively avoid him.
Ignatius entered the side hall without giving Bessie a glance. He saw servants dragging away carpets and scrubbing the floor, with much of the furnishings cleared out. Even the piano by the fireplace had been moved. The old butler had a look of desperate relief, as if seeing a savior. Ignatius’s face imdiately darkened, and he said coldly, "What happened here?"
"Nothing much, just the house being dirty. I told the servants to throw out the old carpets and replace them with new ones," Bessie said, thinking to herself. Her cousin was indifferent to everyone, so even if he found out Delphine Carter had been beaten half to death by Uncle Stone, it wouldn’t matter.
Ignatius turned to the butler.
The old butler took a deep breath and spoke clearly, "Young Master, you’d better hurry to the wine cellar and check on Miss Delphine.
Today, the Fourth Miss ca back and got into an argunt with Miss Delphine, and Sir flew into a rage and whipped Miss Delphine. She’s still unconscious, and if sothing happens to her, it won’t end well."
The old butler deliberately made the situation sound as severe as possible.
Ignatius’s handso face instantly turned grim. He reached out and pressed his temple, suppressing all the anger in his eyes. Turning his head sharply, he commanded Maximilian, "Call Dr. Zheng now."
He issued the command and rushed toward the wine cellar. Barely taking two steps, he kicked over the last remaining Ming dynasty multicolored Flower Vase by the door and roared, "Who ordered her to be thrown into the wine cellar?"
It was Bessie’s first ti seeing Ignatius in such a fury. She turned pale with fright, and only when Ignatius left the side hall for the wine cellar did she co to her senses, preparing to bolt outside.
Maximilian, dialing Dr. Zheng, blocked Bessie’s path with a cold expression and said, "Fourth Miss, you’d best stay and explain everything to Young Master when he returns."
The wine cellar was only five minutes from the side hall, but Ignatius walked briskly, his expression unusually grim.
When he arrived and caught sight of the small, curled figure on the ground, Ignatius’s tall stature trembled slightly.
He knelt on one knee and reached out as if to hold her, but his touch t icy cold skin, with a faint scent of blood spreading along his fingertips.
Delphine flinched slightly at his touch but remained unconscious.
Ignatius lowered his face, his complexion ashen, a frightening gleam of red flashing in his eyes.
His arms trembled as he lifted Delphine Carter and hurried out.
The old butler trotted after him, seeing the Young Master carrying Miss Delphine out. He let out a sigh of relief and quickly said, "Dr. Zheng examined Miss Delphine yesterday and left so dicine behind. I brought a bottle over."
Ignatius nodded slightly, no longer suppressing his fury, his presence exuding sheer nace.
The woman he couldn’t bear to harm had been brutalized to such a degree right under his nose by this band of worthless scum.
Back in the side hall, he saw Bessie wearing a guilty expression. Instead of anger, he sneered coldly, the corner of his lips curling into a wicked smile. "Bessie, you’d better start praying now that Delphine Carter pulls through this safely!"
