Koya felt his chest hair sticking to his skin due to warm blood dripping down from his wound.

For the first ti, a part of him that was done processing what had happened to him regretted wearing only a sleeveless coat instead of so basic Spirit armor.

Koya was very proud of his body and musculature and he liked to show off. Especially in front of soone like Loken who looked like a starving shrimp.

However, who would have known that his habit of showing off would one day beco one of the major causes behind his death?

Koya’s eyes widened as the tip of a dagger burst out from the front of his heart, stained red almost instantly.

The blade was cold and precise, striking straight through his back.

The Second Supre gasped, but no sound ca out. Behind him stood Loken.

Runes flared around Loken’s face and neck. Essence Equation symbols sealed his nostrils, mouth, ears, and even his pores, cutting off his breath.

Loken’s face was calm, his eyes cold and focused. One could tell that he was waiting for such an opportunity for a long ti.

In one hand, he held the dagger buried deep inside Koya’s heart. In the other, there was a half-empty potion bottle. Its cork had been removed, and a faint mist still rose from its mouth, carrying the sa sweet and tempting fragrance.

The scent drifted lazily in the air.

Koya finally understood. The sll was not just a fragrance that was born from ordinary flowers. It was a trap. Or to be more precise, a debuff.

Sothing that ssed with the body, mind, and Spirit essence at the sa ti.

Loken leaned closer and spoke in a low voice.

"Sorry, brother Koya," he whispered. "I had no better choice. Rest assured, I will not let your sacrifice go to waste. I will make use of this opportunity to loot Kalingoot for all it has and then run away."

It was impossible for Loken to kill Koya without using the debuff potion Aksai had given him. After all, Loken was only starting to make effective use of his borrowed Spirit Core after the ghost ntor was eliminated by Aksai whereas Koya was born talented and had a better control of his borrowed Spirit Core.

Forget about everything else. Koya’s solid physique and natural 3rd Order Spirit barrier would have made it impossible for soone like Loken to even scratch him with a sword even if Koya were to just stand still and allow Loken to attack him with all his might.

However, the debuff potion had made the impossible turn into possible. One also had to acknowledge the fact that Loken had tid the application of the debuff potion and subsequent fatal strike well.

Koya’s broadsword slipped from his hand and crashed to the ground below. Loken pulled the dagger out smoothly and stepped back. Koya’s body stiffened, then went limp.

The Second Supre of Kalingoot fell forward, his lifeless form crashing onto the burning ground as the fires continued to rage around him. Fifteen figures approached quietly from behind Loken.

They stopped a few steps away and dropped to one knee in unison. Their heads lowered, their postures full of respect.

So of them could not hide their smiles. Seeing the Second Supre lying dead on the ground filled them with relief and joy. A few looked at Loken with open admiration.

"Master, you did it," one of them said, his voice full of excitent.

"Second Supre Koya is finally dead," another added. "Your timing was perfect."

"Amazing planning," soone else said. "To strike at such a mont... only you could do it."

"Master, your courage and presence of mind saved us," another praised.

Loken did not react. His face remained calm, almost cold.

He slowly raised his hand and looked at the potion bottle still hanging loosely from his fingers. Without any hesitation, he flicked his wrist and tossed it off the cliff. The bottle spun through the air, hit the rocks far below, and shattered into nothing.

Loken then stepped closer to the edge of the cliff and looked down. Below him, the Kalingoot base was burning.

Ships were exploding in the harbor. Fires spread across the island. Cultivators ran in all directions, so fighting, so looting, so screaming in panic. The protective barrier flickered weakly like a dying fla.

A smile ford on Loken’s face. Inside his heart, his thoughts stirred.

Hehehe. That bastard Aksai... he really has his uses. If not for his potion and plans, killing Koya would not have been this easy. I’m glad I played along and used him when I needed to.

His smile grew sharper.

But even Aksai would never imagine this. He thought I would only betray Kalingoot. He never thought I would turn on him too.

Hehehe.

You demonic Spirit farr. You thought only you could use ? Dream on. You never imagined I’d find ways to deal with the restrictions you placed on my body and soul.

His eyes glead with greed.

Tonight, while you fight on my behalf, I will empty Kalingoot’s treasury. Every last bit of it.

For a mont, Loken felt a deep sense of satisfaction. It felt like fate was finally favoring him. Like he was the one standing at the center of the story now.

He slowly turned around and faced his kneeling subordinates. The smile vanished, replaced by a serious and commanding expression.

"Is everything prepared?" he asked in a low voice. "We don’t have much ti. Once the protective barrier fully breaks, the Dadangar Alliance will attack with everything they have."

One of the Foundation Establishnt Experts stepped forward and bowed deeply.

"Yes, master," he replied. "Everything is ready. The people from the Iron Mountain Sect truly delivered."

Loken’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he said nothing.

"They helped us place traps all over the island," the subordinate continued. "They also found a way to deal with the Qi-based and soul-based restrictions placed on you. But—"

The man hesitated. Loken noticed it imdiately.

His brows furrowed, and his voice turned cold. "Speak."
