Capítulo 461: Scene 148 Dawn (1) (3rd update, seeking support, recent performance is dismal)
The young man finished speaking, taking a heavy breath; he couldn’t help but cough twice, his face becoming sowhat ashen.
“But anger can’t be used as food, kid,” an older rcenary looked at him with so pity and replied, “You talk about the law code with them, they talk with you using their fists. Their fists are bigger, what can you do? We are all here, yet they still ignore us. Why? Because they simply aren’t afraid of us.”
“Even if we want to siege the city, can we even break in?” another person also said, “Don’t be unrealistic, don’t forget that bastard has an army too.”
The young man in the grey-green robe bit his lip but couldn’t answer.
But just at that mont, the crowd started to stir. Everyone was stunned, and those rcenary group leaders imdiately turned around alertly and shouted, “What’s going on, what happened? Why so chaotic!”
“Boss, it looks like more people are coming from the city wall. They have reinforcents!” The rcenary near the gate imdiately shouted loudly.
Hearing this reply, everyone frowned.
More reinforcents?
No wonder they are fearless.
…
In fact, when Rosco brought people onto the city wall, he saw a dense crowd of people not far from the city gate—
So much so that at this mont, looking down from the fortress, the entire plain outside the city was dotted with campfire lights. And beside the campfires, there were countless shadows moving about, it was impossible to count how many rcenaries or adventurers there were.
The young man with a pale face couldn’t help but snort coldly.
He turned around and looked at the rows of soldiers behind him wrapped in black cloth, knowing that hidden underneath was actually a fearso bone skeleton—skeleton soldiers, one of the basic components of Madara’s ruthless killing machine.
His gaze returned to the plain, sowhat impatient, but still kept a cold tone as he said to the human officer beside him, “Shout, tell them they have half an hour to leave, or they will be killed without rcy.”
His words were as cold as a blade.
After all, rather than commanding the battle here, this undead wizard would prefer to return to his basent room to study those materials he plundered from human libraries.
The noble officer glanced at him cautiously, hurriedly bowing his head in agreent. Although he was curious where this strange ally ca from, he knew they were reinforcents sent by the lord—whether it was the lord’s house servants or not, he dared not ask more. But he never suspected that these mysterious warriors standing with them could be from Madara’s undead army.
After all, that possibility, in every aspect, was simply too incredible.
The noble officer walked back to the edge of the city wall, cleared his throat, yet secretly felt proud; being besieged by these lowly rcenaries had long filled him with dissatisfaction. Usually, these noble private soldiers were accustod to being arrogant, who would have expected to be surrounded by others one day.
Even if it was just a siege without attack, it was enough to make these people feel humiliated. He imdiately waved and called a nearby wizard apprentice over, commanding with great authority:
“Crystal.”
The wizard apprentice did not dare to delay and imdiately activated the amplification technique on the crystal.
The noble officer nodded with satisfaction, as if at this mont he was already the commander of thousands of troops in Erune, cleared his throat, and then shouted towards the bottom of the city:
“Listen up, you lowly people below——!”
…
“Listen up, you lowly people below——!”
The officer under Gruding shouted, imdiately causing an uproar among the rcenaries below; everyone simultaneously stopped and turned to look in the direction of Fir City, holding their breath in awaiting the following words.
But there was no follow-up——
Because just as the officer opened his mouth, he suddenly froze, the amplification crystal he had snatched from the wizard apprentice falling to the ground with a ‘clatter’——the whole person was stunned, unable to utter a single sound.
He raised his head, wide-eyed, watching as the rcenaries below, after a brief commotion, suddenly began to part silently from the back of the crowd; from that shadow, a monstrous force was silently advancing, inching closer to the city gate.
What was that?
Not just him, even Rosco squinted his eyes, staring motionlessly in that direction as if petrified.
…
“Everyone!”
