With Mo Yu's command to prepare for battle, Mo Gang operated like a well-oiled war machine, mobilizing rapidly. The regular mbers, though slightly surprised by their leader's order, did not voice any objections.
Mo Yu's authority had steadily grown, and with Mo Gang's increasing strength, so mbers even felt a surge of excitent. Ti passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, half a month had gone by. During this period, under Mo Yu's directive, Swift Shadow Boots and Guardian Armor were continuously crafted and distributed to every mber of Mo Gang.
With these new pieces of equipnt, morale soared within Mo Gang; mbers felt not only respect for Mo Yu but also a newfound confidence in their mission to attack the Storm Wolf Pack.
Inside Mo Gang's main hall, a few figures were either seated or standing, their faces lit with joy. "Thank you, Boss, for bestowing us with such fine weapons!" Gong Jun, Li Xing, and newcors Lan Yan and He Bu rose to express their gratitude to Mo Yu. Each held a high-quality weapon, complenting their formidable abilities and enhancing their auras.
"Ha, there's no need to thank ; we're all family here," Mo Yu replied, waving his hand from his seat at the head of the room.
Over the past two weeks, he had used materials collected by Mo Gang to refine custom weapons for his four captains. With Mo Yu's mastery in refining, these weapons were no ordinary items, hence Gong Jun and the others' enthusiasm.
After accepting the captains' gratitude, Mo Yu turned his gaze to Lin Yan, or rather, to the hefty man beside him. Noticing Mo Yu's gaze, the rather large man slowly rose, his fleshy fra trembling as he stood. Aware of the sight's awkwardness, the man focused, causing a light breeze to gather around him as his body began to inflate like a balloon, much to the others' amazent.
"Wind attribute dou qi?" Mo Yu raised an eyebrow, amused that this fellow had turned the agile wind attribute into such an unusual display.
"I am Qian Mo. It's a pleasure to et you, Boss Mo," the hefty man said, narrowing his eyes slightly as he sized Mo Yu up before clasping his hands in greeting. This was the famous eighth-ranked Qian Mo from the strong rankings, brought here by Lin Yan as an ally.
"No need for such formality, Senior Qian Mo. I invited you here because Mo Gang needs your assistance. It's a great favor you're doing us," Mo Yu said with a friendly smile.
Qian Mo, seeing Mo Yu's warm deanor, relaxed and chuckled, his cheeks shaking as he replied, "It's no trouble at all. Rumors of your skill as a high-grade weapon refiner have spread throughout the Inner Academy. eting you today, I see those rumors are true. To have your favor is an honor for . When it's ti to attack the Storm Wolf Pack, I'll be at the forefront."
Sensing Lin Yan's signal, Qian Mo dared not underestimate Mo Yu, especially since this was a man bold enough to launch an assault on the Storm Wolves. Despite his size, Qian Mo had an eye for people, and seeing Mo Gang so well-ard, he felt a twinge of envy. "Not to worry, fatty," Lin Yan laughed, patting Qian Mo's belly. "Boss has prepared sothing special for you."
Seeing Lin Yan's glance, Mo Yu nodded and pulled from his storage ring a handful of circular, serrated weapons with a deep purple hue. Each of these disc-like blades was only palm-sized, but their razor-sharp edges glead nacingly, as if ready to strike from the shadows.
"This weapon is called the Devil Croc Ring Saw. I crafted it from the teeth of a fifth-tier Black Abyss Devil Croc. It's incredibly durable and sharp, with a unique ability to penetrate dou qi defenses. With your strength, Senior Qian Mo, these saws should prove lethal when thrown, especially against an opponent like Yan Hao, who'll struggle with a barrage of these," Mo Yu explained with a slight smile.
Qian Mo's eyes lit up at this, his hands rubbing together in anticipation. He already used a saw-like weapon, which Mo Yu must have researched beforehand to create sothing perfect for him. Unlike his usual saw, Mo Yu's Devil Croc Saw was a masterpiece, far superior to his old weapon.
Unable to contain his excitent, Qian Mo watched as Mo Yu casually tossed the Devil Croc Saw to him. "You're giving it to now?" Qian Mo asked, his chubby face beaming. "Aren't you worried I might slack off?"
"Senior Qian Mo, eighth-ranked on the Strong List, would never turn back from a fight, I'm sure," Mo Yu replied coolly. "Besides, Mo Gang's gifts aren't easily obtained. If you did flee, could you really escape us all the way to Jia Nan or the Black-Corner Region? Better you take this Devil Croc Saw now and add more strength to our force against the Storm Wolves."
"Haha, thank you!" Qian Mo said with a laugh, carefully placing the Devil Croc Saw in his storage ring. His smile grew as he realized Mo Yu's generosity; he could sense both the respect and implied warning behind Mo Yu's words. Impressed by Mo Yu's mix of kindness and authority, Qian Mo felt a deeper respect for him.
"Alright then, now that you're all ard, it's ti to head out," Mo Yu said, gesturing for the group to follow him. With Mo Yu's command, Lin Yan, Fu Ao, and the others quickly gathered around.
Not far from Mo Gang's headquarters was a spacious plaza, now crowded with people from all directions, filling the area tightly. Among the whispers and sidelong glances, a multitude of gazes fixed on the spirited group in the plaza's center, ready to make their move.
"Look! It's the Mo Gang, and check out their footwear—those boots look so cool, and the black armor they're wearing seems incredibly tough!"
"I heard from a friend in the Mo Gang that these are the Swift Shadow Boots and Guardian Armor, personally commissioned by Mo Yu for his gang mbers. Apparently, each mber is equipped with one."
"Wow... Mo Gang must be loaded to arm each mber with such luxurious gear. Are they planning sothing big?"
"Rumor has it Mo Yu has his eye on sothing in the mountain—sothing guarded by a pack of Storm Wolves. He's planning to lead the Mo Gang in an assault against them."
"What! They're actually going after the Storm Wolves?"
The buzz of chatter spread quickly as people heard about Mo Gang's plan. Shock, doubt, and even ridicule filled the air as onlookers turned their gazes towards the sizable group gathered in the plaza.
While not everyone understood Mo Gang's motives, few dared to question its strength. Close to a hundred mbers had gathered, each in formation, an imposing sight on its own. The real surprise, however, was the presence of Lin Yan and Qian Mo, both top contenders on the strength leaderboard and at the peak of Dou Ling.
Aside from Lin Yan and Qian Mo, the aura of several other Dou Ling practitioners radiated from the group, solidifying Mo Gang's reputation as a minor powerhouse within the Black-Corner Region. The gathering left many students in awe, particularly as they looked to Mo Yu, the young silver-eyed leader, who had managed to assemble such a formidable force in just a few short months since arriving at Jia Nan—a feat unprecedented in the academy's history.
Standing at the front of his force, Mo Yu paid little attention to the varied emotions around him. Gazing at his elite mbers, he felt a surge of pride. "Even if those Storm Wolves are strong, my Mo Gang will still take them on!" As he prepared to lead his team into the mountains, a sudden commotion arose nearby.
A group of about thirty people approached quickly, each bearing the distinctive Heavy Xuan Badge on their chests. At the forefront were two familiar figures.
"Mo Yu, cousin, we've co from the Pan Gate to lend you a hand against the Storm Wolves!" In a matter of monts, Xiao Yan and Xun'er reached the plaza and greeted Mo Yu with a smile.
"Xiao Yan, Xun'er, you've co." Mo Yu returned the smile but then shook his head. "The journey into the mountains is full of dangers, and the Storm Wolves are no easy foe. I appreciate the offer, but it's best if Pan Gate doesn't take this risk."
It wasn't that he looked down on Xiao Yan and Xun'er—on the contrary, Mo Yu knew their potential better than anyone. However, Pan Gate was a faction ford by new students; while they had promise, their current strength was not yet enough to face such threats.
"Don't worry, cousin," Xun'er said with a gentle smile. "Xiao Yan and I are well aware of Pan Gate's limits, so we don't plan to fight the Storm Wolves directly. Xiao Yan has prepared many healing pills over the past few days, so Pan Gate will be in charge of Mo Gang's dical support. Consider it a token of goodwill from Xiao Yan—please, don't refuse."
"Oh? Xiao Yan has refined a large number of healing pills? In that case, thank you, Xiao Yan. Pan Gate will handle the treatnt of our wounded." Mo Yu clapped Xiao Yan on the shoulder gratefully.
He had to admit, Xiao Yan's support was tily. Although Mo Yu was skilled at crafting weapons for his mbers, injuries were inevitable in battle. Having Xiao Yan, a fifth-grade alchemist, and Pan Gate's dical support would significantly reduce their losses.
"Haha, no need to thank , cousin—it's a small matter," Xiao Yan replied modestly. Now a faction leader himself, his black robe and composed deanor exuded maturity, a far cry from his youthful past. Yet, in front of Mo Yu, he seed as shy as ever, scratching his head with a slight smile.
After exchanging a few more words, Mo Yu looked at the rising sun, preparing to issue the command to set off. But just then, another uproar arose in the distance, louder than Pan Gate's arrival.
Curious, Mo Yu turned his gaze toward the noise, prompting Xiao Yan and Xun'er to do the sa. As the crowd gradually parted, a tall, silver-haired woman with a commanding presence stepped forward, leading a group of beautiful female students. The sight left many male onlookers enraptured.
"Mo Yu," the woman called in a cool voice. "You're leading the Mo Gang to confront the Storm Wolves and didn't even think to inform —or did you forget that your fiancée is still in Moon Spirit?"
Mo Yu looked over, montarily stunned. The tall, silver-haired woman was none other than Han Yue, who stood with a host of Moon Spirit mbers behind her. Beside her, another figure, Xiao Yu, looked at him with a slightly resentful expression.
Seeing her, Mo Yu couldn't help but massage his temples with a wry smile. "Looks like I'm assembling an army for a full-scale assault..."
