Riveria asked doubtfully, "Are you an adventurer who is currently in the middle of a familia transfer?"
Adventurers can change their familia. By having their current god lock their status, placing them in a state awaiting a new Familia.
In this state, they retain the power of their status, but it can't be updated or renewed until a new god unlocks the status.
Alternatively, adventurers could use a status thief or similar items, though these are rare and dangerous.
"No, I literally an unaffiliated," Sion explained. "I haven't received Falna. I'm a professional mage. The defense and attacks I just used are forms of congenital magic."
He continued, "Living in Orario, I simply felt the urge to enter the dungeon and take a look, while also honing my combat awareness."
Wait! what did she just hear?
Did a civilian's magic just block her arrow?
Although Riveria was primarily a mage, that did not an her archery skills were lacking.
Back in her hotown, she had hunted in the forests for decades. Furthermore, every rank up for an adventurer, is a literal sublimation of mind and body.
With the physique of a level 3, the power of the arrows she drew was far beyond what any ordinary human should be able to withstand.
Not to ntion...
"How could that possibly be congenital magic?!" Riveria exclaid in astonishnt, her usual composure cracking. "Leaving aside the question of how a human is using congenital magic at all, your casting speed and Mind output are far beyond anything one would expect from a non adventurer!"
This was a feat that defied the natural laws of the world.
"Wait... could you perhaps be a descendant of a hero?" she conjectured.
Spirits are magical beings closer to nature than even Elves, and ancient heroes were often protected by Spirits, sotis possessing a fragnt of their power.
This power could be hereditary, which was why Riveria made the guess.
"Though it's a rare occurrence, I'm not a descendant of a hero. I am simply a talented individual among humankind," Sion said with a smile.
"There are always exceptions to the rule. It isn't impossible for a human to develop congenital magic."
In truth, if Sion had not undergone rigorous magic training after his awakening ritual and had instead tried to learn congenital magic the traditional way, he'd have been lucky to master even one basic spell by now.
However, as a transmigrator, he possessed a unique way of thinking that these natives lacked.
Things that the people of this world could not even imagine were common sense to him. A vivid imagination combined with precise magical control was the secret to his current strength.
"As for the power of my magic... that is quite simple," Sion chuckled. "I researched and developed it."
"Researched? And developed.." Riveria repeated the words, clearly a bit intrigued.
"Adventurers can obtain magic through their falna. My magic alone, through developnt, has reached a certain level," Sion explained.
"Falna is undeniably useful, and the magic it inspires is incredibly powerful. But precisely because it's so convenient, even professional mages tend to overlook the progress and fundantal nature of magic itself."
"Excuse ... but may I see your back?" Riveria asked tentatively. "I apologize! I do not an to doubt your word. But if everything you have said is true, it would an you have paved an unprecedented path for mages entirely on your own."
Generally, gods can directly perceive whether a mortal has received Falna, but mortals even high level ones cannot.
Therefore, the easiest way to tell if Sion was truly using congenital magic without divine aid was to see if his back was bare or held a status.
"Sure, I don't mind," Sion said with a smile. "I can understand your skepticism. At least for now."
This was equivalent to a six-year-old child developing controlled nuclear fusion in their backyard; anyone would question its authenticity.
To a level 3 adventurer, the combat power of an ordinary person was not much different from that of a small child.
If this were true, it would be a revelation enough to cause a sensation throughout the entire world.
"Wait a mont. Let deal with these Orcs first, then we can talk," Sion said, looking up as several more Orcs approached from the fog.
Raising his hand, a spinning blade of wind appeared at his fingertip.
"Wind Revolving Bullet."
The large, circular ball flew out at an extre speed, easily killing the monsters.
Then, with a flick of his finger tips, it circled back and split into four dium sized bullets.
Bypassing the Orcs raised arms, the bullets curved through the air and killed four more monsters simultaneously.
This incredible level of control was sothing Riveria could hardly believe was possible through congenital magic.
Even acquired magic from a Falna usually required a long period of training to control with such precision.
In Sion's view, an adventurer's Rank up was a complete sublimation.
The increase in Mind was essentially an increase in ntal capacity, which naturally enhanced the user's cognitive functions.
However, adventurers rarely trained in magic control because Falna allowed them to bypass the basics. They used spells with fixed forms and properties simply by pouring Mind into their magic slots, focusing only on increasing the output.
Because they found it so convenient, they neglected the fundantals.
Therefore, Sion's combat awareness, techniques, and mind calculation would eventually surpass those of ordinary adventurers who relied solely on their status.
"Is this truly congenital magic?"
Riveria couldn't believe her eyes that this can be achieved with congenital magic.
