"A safe environnt and a reliable sense of order are things most people can only dream of."
"It's just a sha that achieving those things are nearly impossible," Sion chuckled lightly.
"You're right but I still hope things could be better." Adi looked up at Sion with expectation.
"What do you think about it, Sion?"
Sion gently patted Adi's head and smiled.
"Your wish is beautiful. It carries your hope of the future and to that makes it truly amazing."
It was the truth.
In Sion's eyes, Adi's soul was remarkably pure.
A girl like her deserved nothing but kindness.
It's just a pity that the world was twisted.
"Thanks," Adi blushed slightly.
As Sion patted her head, she happily narrowed her eyes, leaning into his touch like an affectionate cat.
"Even so, whether you're fighting for justice or chasing down a thief, the foundation for maintaining these is strength," Sion gently reminded her.
"You should only take on what you can handle. Before rushing in to help soone else, you must prioritize your own safety."
"Mhm, I'll keep that in mind," Adi nodded obediently.
"Strength..." Shakti nodded slightly. If she had been stronger, her companions wouldn't have died.
Strength was the foundation for everything.
Sion's words made her understand that harsh reality.
"Sion, I never got the chance to properly thank you for what happened back then," Shakti said as she bowed deeply.
Seeing her actions, Adi quickly followed suit.
"You've thanked enough." Sion chuckled softly. "If you keep bowing like that, it'll trouble ."
"I understand." Shakti's expression softened as she spoke.
"If there's ever anything we can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. Our strength might be ager but we're more than willing to lend a hand."
"I'll keep that in mind." Sion smiled.
Even though there was practically nothing they could actually help him with, he didn't have any intention of disrespecting their earnest feelings.
After chatting for a while, the group parted ways.
The sisters were out enjoying their day and Sion and teria were on a date so it was best to leave each other to it.
"Who were they?" teria gazed at Sion with curiosity.
teria wasn't feeling jealous.
Being able to see the souls, Sion was now capable of perceiving its colors and reading people's emotions through it.
Even when he was with teria, he could effortlessly keep track of her emotional state at all tis.
"They ran into a monster party down in the dungeon and their companions died."
"I managed to save them." Sion briefly explained the situation.
"Even adventurers from the Zeus and Hera familia suffer casualties. For the other familias out there, the dungeon is nothing short of a massive slaughterhouse."
"I see." teria nodded in understanding and then let out a soft giggle.
"So this is the classic tale of a hero saving the damsel in distress?"
"Welp..."
"I'm not a hero." Sion tapped her head lightly.
"But I'm more than willing to be your hero, teria."
What qualities did a hero need to have?
They needed to hold both talent and morality.
They had to be entirely selfless while holding a level of unwavering perseverance that far exceeded that of an ordinary person.
Most importantly, they had to fight for the greater good of the people.
aning they were the type of person who placed the needs of the public above their own personal desires.
A true hero would always choose their duty to the world...
Sion held great respect for heroes but he didn't have any intention of ever becoming one.
If he had to be a hero, he'd be for teria or Alfia.
"You've already been my hero," teria said with a tender smile.
To teria, Sion was far more than just a lover.
After they got into relationship, Sion made a promise to her that he'd cure her illness.
It was the most touching confession she had ever heard and it filled her with hopes for the future.
And...
In less than two months, he did it.
Nobody could possibly understand just how happy she was when he gave her the hope.
