I slept really well throughout the night and I wished I could say the sa for the rest, but I couldn't. When I woke up they were sitting in the corner leaning against the wall facing the glass door. They clutched their guns tightly with bags under their eyes, a clear sign of their exhaustion. Poor bastards.
"Good morning, did you guys sleep well?" I asked teasingly, earning a collective glare from the group. Their exhaustion filled eyes gave a weak glare that could barely qualify as a death stare, and I felt a bit bad for them. Though I did wonder why they didn't rotate watch duties between themselves while I slept, amateurs.
"You guys should take a nap, I'll wake you up in an hour." I told them and they almost imdiately went to sleep showing the extent of their exhaustion. In the anti, I checked my guns and sword to make sure that everything was in order. Next I activated my [Aura Vision] skill to scout the mall and make sure that there were no undeads nearby, and luckily their weren't any that I needed to worry about for now.
What worries however is that the amount of blue auras in the building has decreased and the red ones have increased aning that more people have been turned into undead thralls. I would need to hurry before every human in the building was either reduced to a pile of flesh or turned into another undead for to kill. There were enough undeads running around the city already, and I was not sure how many humans were still alive on the continent, but I doubted it was a lot. An hour later, I woke up the rest of the group and proceeded to the first group of blue aura which was actually on the first floor. The problem, well not really a problem for , is that there were nurous red auras between the two of us. As we proceeded towards the group of humans, I made the others take note of the different stores we passed on the way. And soon we ran into the first group of thralls.
"Okay, guys they are all yours." I said in a low voice as we peered around the corner at the group of thralls wandering around the corridor. The corridor looked like sothing out of a horror movie, which was to be expected, but the corridor was narrow with blood stained, glass doors on either side and the door where the humans were hiding. This was the perfect practice environnt for these guys.
"What do you an 'they are all yours'. Aren't you gonna fight them?" One of the girls asked, her complexion deathly pale and her hands trembling as she looked at the undead thralls.
"No I'm not. You guys will have to learn to fight for yourselves or you won't survive this world." I said. I had decided to let these spineless bastards at least learn to fight and although it pained to lose all that exp, it was sothing I chose to do so that they would at least be useful in a fight on the off chance I might need their help in the future. But looking at their weak, trembling forms, I realized that in any fight that I might need their help, I should probably just consider myself dead, but there was no harm in trying. I hope.
"But…but…" The girl stuttered but I decided to answer the question she failed to form.
"What did you guys think? I was going to spend my entire life protecting you guys. Pull yourself together. So I wonder, when I leave, and believe I will, will you guys hide and eventually die or will you fight for your life until your very last breath?" I said with an evil smile plastered on my face and my eyes gleaming.
They stared at the ground their arms trembling but one of them walked out from the corner gun in hand. That person was Tim, the sa guy who stood up to with a steel pipe. At least one of them wasn't a spineless weakling.
"Good now rember, aim for th…." Before I could finish my sentence gunshots echoed in the corridor, bullets biting into undead flesh, making them snarl in anger. The thralls rushed towards Tim but he seed to not have forgotten my advice as he managed to kill two of the thralls but the other five were getting were still running towards him and he was out of bullets. Before I could step in to help him, Claire and Roxy stepped forwards and using automatic weapons, they riddled the undeads with bullets, killing four of them and leaving the last one crawling on the ground desperately. The two girls dropped the guns, their hands trembling from the recoil and one of the guys rushed forward, pushing past Tim to shoot the undead in the head, grinning from ear to ear like it was an accomplishnt. I threw him a look of disgust before shaking my head, deciding not to waste my ntal energy on worthless insects.
"Nice job but we should probably hurry, I'm pretty sure that the gunfire attracted more than a few zombies." And soon my theory was proven correct as we saw tens of undead thralls rush from around the corner and entered the corridor, and rushing into the corridor. And surprisingly, I didn't have to do anything as the others wiped them out with there pistols and machine M16s albeit missing more than a few shots, but that was to be expected. Walking over the dead thralls, we made our way towards where the humans were hiding. It was a toy store, filled with broken glass and shelves with blood covered toy robots, teddy bears, and what made shudder, the creepy smiling dolls which looked even creepier covered in blood. We found them in a small storage room in the back, a woman and three children, crying and trembling in fear.
"Please you can take but spare the children please!!" A middle aged woman cried. She was curled up on the ground holding the three children, two boys and a girl, who looked no older than ten.
"Relax lady we are not here to take your kids." I said, and she finally looked up at .
"Wh-who are you?" She asked while tears stread down her face.
"Just so guy, but trust that I'm here to help." I said holding out my hand to help her up
