The woman looked in the eyes for a second before taking my outstretched hand and stood up, her children clinging to her skirt.
"Thank you." The woman said and she looked like she was about to start crying again.
"Don't thank yet. We still need to get out of here first." I said and led the way out of the shop. The entire floor was cleared of thralls earlier so the only real problem is if any cos from outside or upstairs.
"Okay, see you guys on the bus and rember to gather food and supplies from the stores I showed you." I told them when we reached the stairs leading to the second floor.
"What, are you not coming with?" The woman asked with concern
"No, I'll have to check the second floor for any survivors." I told her although I already knew there weren't any up there.
"But…." The woman started to say but pursed her lips when she saw the resolute look on my face.
"Don't worry about him. He'll be fine." Claire said trying to reassure the woman, and she looked between and Claire for a mont before nodding her head.
"Okay." The woman said but still looked a bit worried. They soon turned to leave, heading back towards the bus, and I watched them disappear before turning back towards the stairs.
I ascended the stairs and soon arrived onto the second floor of the mall. The scenery up here was different from downstairs, more horrible, it was a close second to the first floor of the University in how disgusting it was. The place was covered in dried up black blood, there were limbs and organs littering the floor and worst of all there was a nauseating stench up here. Although it wasn't as bad as the one at the university, it still slt terrible. I wonder how we didn't sll it from downstairs.
I activated [Aura Vision] and searched the entire floor. There seed to be a number of undead thralls here and like usual I went to the closest one first. The closest one was in the corridor in front of so I rushed towards it and when I went around the corner and saw what it was, I couldn't help but let a cruel smile appear on my lips.
'Revenge, motherfucker.' Although it wasn't the sa Undead from last ti, I didn't care, as I still held a grudge against it for how it almost killed . Taking my shotgun in hand, I stepped into the hall. Almost imdiately, the Undead turned around only to be t by a shotgun shell but it remained undeterred as it ran towards . I shot another shell at it and the impact caused it to recoil as black mist escaped it's chest. I pointed the shotgun's barrel towards it's head and fired shot after shot. It tried blocking with it's arms but chunks of flesh flew through the air as I continued to fire shell after shell at it's head. It's finger ca off first, then chunks of flesh from it's arm, then finally the bones were shattered and the first arm fell to the ground. The sa happened to the second, except I had to pause to reload, and the Undead used that opportunity to lunge at , but I managed to put another round in it's right foot, blowing off it's toes and causing it to fall. I moved out of it's arms reach as it swiped at , then I finished reloading and aid at it's head again while it blocked with it's remaining arm. What happened was a repeat of the first arm, then I unloaded three shells in it's head, reducing it to bone fragnts, rotten brain matter and juices on the floor.

'Only three more levels to go before I evolve again.' I thought while reloading my shotgun.

Multiple thralls rushed into the corridor, attracted by the noise, and of course, I already knew that they were coming. I quickly finished reloading my shotgun before the first one cleared the corner and appeared. I quickly pointed my gun at it's head and pulled the trigger. The thrall's head was blown off before it could even growl at .

I quickly slung the shotgun over my shoulder and pulled out my sword as more thralls entered the corridor. They ran towards snarling and growling like a pack of wild animals and so I treated them as such.

I killed thrall after thrall but my kill streak was bound to end eventually. Soon I saw another Undead enter the corridor but this one was different. Unlike the last two that were slightly muscular under their gray flesh, this one could only be described as….fat, like really fat making wonder how it even made it to the second floor. The Undead looked like jello with legs as it's belly protruded from it's body. As it walked towards , clearly straining under it's own weight, I could feel the floor shake slightly and as it ca forward it grabbed one of the thralls and started munching on it. I knew imdiately that pistol weren't gonna do the job so I quickly pulled the shotgun off my back.

I fired three shots at the creature hitting it's belly and it scread in pain which is weird since Undeads don't feel pain as far as I knew, but I was still learning. It's belly was blown open by the shotgun shell, causing it's rotten guts and half digested flesh to spill off, making nauseous but that was healed by a cloud of black mist. I aid at it's head but it blocked with it's aty arms which got chunks of them blown off. I didn't want to get closer to it because it looked like it had a strong grip but it seed that I didn't have to as I quickly found it's weak spot. The ground vibrated as the fat monster took one angry step after another. As the monster got closer and closer I fired shell after shell blowing off chunks of it's right leg but it continued to regenerate. When it reached around 5 ters away from I finally managed to blow the last chunk of flesh off it's leg with my last shot gun shells causing it to tumble and fall. I took my sword from it's scabbard and stabbed it in the back of it's aty neck. It tried to reach but I stood in the small of it's back. As the fat bastard struggled to reach , I pulled out my guns and rained bullets into it's skulls, reducing it to brain and bone fragnts.
