"This weekend?" Kyle Kinston slightly raised an eyebrow, "That works out well, I’m free too. I’ll go with you guys."
"Together?" Mabel Quinn almost choked on her drink. Kyle Kinston didn’t seem like the type to believe in ghosts or gods; he wanted to go to a temple?
"What, you don’t want to go with you?" Kyle asked.
"No." She shook her head, "It’s just that if you’re going, then Alice..."
"Then let’s have Dorian go along too." Kyle said, directly picking up his phone and dialing Dorian Howards’ number, "Dorian, it’s . Are you free this weekend? Mabel and Alice Conley have plans to visit the temple in the mountains. I’m thinking of tagging along, are you in... Okay, then you pick up Alice, and we’ll all go together."
After making the call, Kyle looked at Mabel and said, "Dorian seems quite willing too, and he even asked us not to tell Alice that he’s going, fearing she’d change her mind at the last minute or sothing."
Mabel was speechless. The entanglent between Dorian and Alice was exhausting to watch, with one chasing and the other running away, who knew when it would end.
Alice clearly had feelings for Dorian, but it was like she had gotten herself into a dead end, stubbornly wanting to cut ties with him.
If Alice could let go of this stubbornness, she and Dorian would surely be a very happy couple, Mabel thought to herself, willing to play matchmaker.
anwhile, Alice Conley, still oblivious to being set up, was busy planning her temple visit. On the weekend, when she stepped out of her apartnt complex and saw that familiar luxury car, she felt like a cloud was hanging over her. She deeply regretted not wearing a hat and mask for so disguise before going out.
Alice tried to pretend she didn’t see Dorian’s car, but she’d only taken two steps when he got out and blocked her path.
"Morning," Dorian greeted her with a bright smile.
Alice glanced at him. Well, dressed in casual clothes paired with that handso face, he looked quite a bit younger than his actual age, certainly not inferior to the trendy young n these days.
"Morning." Alice replied with a strained smile, "I have things to do. I need to catch the bus."
"I’ll give you a ride." Dorian said, grabbing her.
"No need." She twisted her arm but couldn’t break free, "Don’t trouble yourself. The bus is quite convenient for ."
"It’s no trouble at all because I’m going to the sa place as you today." Dorian said with a cheerful grin.
"What?" Alice blinked, not quite processing it, but before she knew it, she had been dragged into the car by Dorian.
After learning the truth from Dorian and then seeing Mabel and Kyle, Alice felt a strangely bittersweet and complicated emotion.
She really didn’t mind being a third wheel! Three people offering prayers was perfectly fine; there was no need to add Dorian just to spare her loneliness!
Alice figured she should have a good talk with Mabel about this next ti.
Fortunately, Mabel gave Alice an apologetic look, which sowhat comforted her.
